      People should appreciate Carmines honesty since it gives a ton of insight to how much these guys are making in royalties and what’s possible. Also seeing that some guys like Carmine had a good manager that seemingly strong armed him into investing his money wisely. Anyone in the entertainment industry SHOULD be investing widely but we all know many don’t. Of course Carmine played with some big names and the is from the 70’s so he’s doing better than many from his era of music.

    I remember going to a drummers tutorial in Itasca Illinois Holiday Inn. Carmine Appice's class is going to start and he announced that he wished he had a guitar player to play with. In walks Ted Nugent with a Les Paul. 30 minutes of crazy rock in front of 50 people.

    Great drummer (prefer Vinny myself but that's a whole different conversation), but a way better businessman and self promoter !!! Drummers usually get shafted on songwriting credits since credits are based on lyrics and melodies.
    Contrast Carmine to Bobby Blotzer, it's like night and day. Some pretty good hits that Ratt had but those guys were slicing and dicing the songwriting credits like swiss cheese to the point where dude drew the short straw. Such a shame 😞

    • @daveg4236
      @daveg4236 Год назад +1

    • @edwardmolinary4890
      @edwardmolinary4890 Год назад +3

      Agreed. My point exactly. Apparently Carmine can hum a melody or write some cheesy lyrics enough to where he was able to get some co-writing credits on some monster songs. More importantly, he was smart enough to do so, Blotzer not so much 🤷🏼‍♂️ That's why they call it the music "business".
