Hi Ryan… I’m a meteorologist who’s been in the business for many years. I had a former viewer who moved to the Midwest and told me about your channel. Just want to say you are rockin it! Been watching periodically. The graphics, message, and your style is making a huge impact! Great stuff from an old timer. 😜
Welcome to the Y'ALL pack!
@@collette9008 Thanks!
He’s the very best
I'd like to point out that this was EXACTLY what Ryan predicted two days ago. I hope everyone that saw those forecasts were able to heed the "warning" and prepare appropriately. Stay safe, stay warm, stay inside! Thank you, Ryan! 💜
Lake snows are the easiest of all weather phenomena to predict. All you need is cold air over water. November and December, in the Great Lakes, is when this combination occurs most frequently. Best tool is a 15c (27f) temp contrast from the water to the air temps at 850 millibars. Kid stuff.
So right I would like him to extend the coverage to Québec is better then anything we have here.
I did not stay inside I went outside and played we live In Michigan we are made for snow!
He is definitely better at predicting weather than our local stations
As did half of the countries weather people.
Ryan is hands-down the best weatherman out there! If somethings going on weather wise, this is the ONLY place I'm going for information. Ryan saves lives y'all!!
Who needs the weather channel when you got this channel and a lot better too.
Totally agree!👍
People who have money and want a network channel full of professionals, that’s who
@ Bud Fuddlacker ha! That’s why you’re here huh?! 😂. You trolls crack me up. I hate to tell you but Ryan is HANDS DOWN BETTER THAN ANY PROFESSIONAL! By a long shot! I’ll continue watching him while you keep getting false weather info from your so called “professional” weather man. 👏
@@jogirl836 cheapskate can’t afford cable 😂😂😂😂
Weather Channel sucks! Ryan gets it right more often than they do. Makes it more fun to watch also. Tells us about weather instead of preaching “climate change”.
I was working at a sawmill in the late eighties. There was a pretty good snowstorm going on. The boss came in and was white as a sheet. He was jumping out of the skidder when lightning struck it. We went home for the day after that.
I am in Hamburg, New York, which is a suburb of Buffalo. We get slammed every single time a snow storm comes. This time eight years ago we had 7 feet of snow. Right now we’re going on 4 feet. I witnessed a lot of thunder snow and lightning in the past day since the snow begin last night at 7 PM.
I am in the Buffalo area. We who live here enjoy the thundersnow. Snownadoes over Lake Erie can happen. You can see the wall of snow coming. Sometimes you are driving around, it's clear, or a little snow, then you hit a wall of snow. They moved the Bills game to Detroit.
Thank you for keeping an eye on our weather Ryan Hall, you predicted this, days ago.
Hi! Hamburg here!
You people are NUTS!! Lol.
@@conductorcammon
🤣
Its a Buffalo thing, you wouldn't understand. 😊
I just made a comment to go to the Dunkirk/Brocton area to film the snownadoes out on the lake. 😊
People probably think we are crazy. 🤣
I always tell my kids about growing up in WNY & the winters. They don't mind 6" of snow after those stories.
@@4uh8rz2nv West Texas here. Its sunny and 60°...and I'm wearing a hoodie! Haha
Since the tornados in my area a couple weeks ago I only watch Ryan Hall for all my weather needs. Good job, thanks for all you do 💚🌹💚 love from Arkansas
I shared you out on my community tab 👍
Since the tornado in my daughter's town, Mayfield KY December 2021, I have been watching Ryan and am now a channel member because they don't just chase but help people affected by the weather disasters. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Snowing like hell in Eden, New York. Wind is blowing pretty hard.
Ryan keep doing what you’re doing, you definitely are the best weather channel EVER, and on top of that you save lives with the money you donate to hard hit places and go to the hard hit places sometimes, ur pretty much the Mrbeast of the weather community!
And don't forget Bear Independent that's been out there with grindstone ministries helping people affected by those tornadoes.
And he makes me laugh..
Best weather channel on RUclips!!
Agree 👍💯
Yes totally agree!❤
I've experienced thunder snow one time in Virginia. But not with feet of snow. Unbelievable weather. Great reporting.
Me too! It was back in ‘05 or ‘06. The weather nerd in me was so stoked!
can confirm, ive seen thundersnow in southwest virginia 2-3 times
This was on the coast. Chesapeake Bay. We got about 5 inches of snow.
And if it drifts in NY (of course it will) .... Keeping all of the essential workers, especially nurses that are having to pack for Long extended extra shifts p.r.n., in my prayers.🙏 Hopefully all of those college kids in SWNY make it home safely as well. TYVM Ryan for the update. Brightest Blessings for a safe and warm week! 😊✌️❤️🦋🙏
It's still drivable around even the worst hit areas. I'm currently at 32 inches and it's still coming
Drifts all over here. Wish I had left to go back home to SC already lol. We didn't get much of anything though. Maybe 3-4 inches but the ground is about bare around most of my house its all blown up into drifts. I am a couple hours south on the border near Jamestown. Right here though if you look across the street you are looking at PA. Its just freezing and really windy. The snow we got was basically all 2 days ago. When one of my dogs woke me up an hour or so ago to take her out it was snowing again first snow we have had in a day or so here. Its already ended now though wasn't enough to really accumulate anything
I have seen a thunder snow storm here in Oklahoma. Scary but beautiful.... Ryan was right on the money with his predictions! Everyone stay safe ❤️
WOW ! How refreshing for Ryan to tell about New York's weather ! Unusual and very welcome. Thanks from
some eastern mountain dwellers here in NY !
I remember seeing lightning and hearing thunder during a bad snow storm when I was a little kid. I remember thinking it was odd, but kind of cool. It was in the midwest
We get those alot during winter here in WNY 🦬
@@freespirit3891 I only remember seeing that once here and if I remember correctly that had to have been around 1970-ish because I do remember that 'The Flying Nun' was on the TV. The odd things one remembers 😏
WOW! I have never seen the weather do that before! Thanks, Ryan!
As a truck driver who runs the lower 48 300+ days a year, thank you for what you do. I’m in Erie PA right now and had to turn south to avoid the snow 😂
I live ~40 miles north of some of my family who are in the Hamburg area, and it's a strange thing to see them getting buried in snow while it's partly sunny up here and the 1" of snow we got last night has mostly melted away
southern suburbs of buffalo are getting more than the city itself, i'm like 20 minutes away from buffalo and already have a little more than 3 feet
Are you able to leave your house?
I’m in Galeton PA which was at the bottom of your map. We usually don’t get hit with the big storms that hit BuffLo, but this time we’re even getting a few inches.
When I need a weather forecast. I go with Ryan!
I'm jealous, I LOVE snow storms. I grew up in northern PA and we used to get some wild lake effect snow storms, the kind that literally shut EVERYTHING down for a couple days. I now live in south west PA and the amount of snow we get just isn't the same. Shoveling snow at night is my zen space. lol
Quiet and peaceful!
Buffalonian here. The Wall of Snow is CRAZY. Thundersnow last night was scary but cool - so loud, like a cracking whip! My friends in colleagues in the Southtowns are saying four feet of snow!!
Really cool weather history in the making! We see maybe one thundersnow storm up here in North Idaho every few years or so. This storm is unprecidented for those fellow weather lovers. Thank you Ryan Hall for being the best weather meteorologist out there!
Hi Ryan am frances from Aberdeen Scotland in the UK. We are flooding all over the place. Its rained for 4 days now and there is more to come x
Stay safe
Wow! Hello from Texas. Stay safe!!
This channel is remarkable! I love getting the gist of what's happening in my old living area in the Buffalo area!
Awesome video Ryan hall thanks for the important weather updates
I love thunder snow. It’s awesome to hear people who’ve never heard it before try to figure out what season it really is
That snow cloud is ridiculous. It’s giving an apocalyptic vibe to it. Thanks for all you do Ryan.
It’s cool to witness. I saw it, live.
Thank you Ryan! I enjoyed our thunder snow last night and you called it!
Ryan is probably the best meteorologist ever. Better then News people. We should appreciate the work that he does to keep his fans updated on all the weather. Even saves lives. Ryan is a good person and we should appreciate him
👇
Like the comment above me if you think Ryan is better than news people and saves lives and is just amazing
I disliked this comment because you said, "no cap".
@@anglachel1 shut up ur rude I did nothing to you and what does it even got to do with me saying no cap???
Imagine being the best meteorologist ever and not even being a real meteorologist.
This is the first time I’ve ever seen anything like this. 😮 Thank you Ryan for always keeping us in the know.
I grew up with it.
Its fun & scary.....depending on how far away the lightening was.
As a kid I played outside in this weather.
(Im from Buffalo)
@@4uh8rz2nv It’s is so awesome to see. I probably would’ve done the same had it ever happened here. Please be safe.
On November 20 2000 a bad thunder Snow lake effect event hit downtown Buffalo NY. I got trapped overnight there because of it. There was even more lightning than with this event. It was like lightning in a severe thunderstorm.
@@mm-gl7sz
They do get crazy.
I would not advise driving in it though.
Hello from Bridgman Michigan We got some lake effect snow too!
Thank you Ryan ! Even our local forecasters have a very difficult time predicting the weather here in our Great Lakes region. I'm in Michigan and if we want to know what's going on with the weather we really have to get outside and look. So many times the forecast is wrong . Have a great weekend !
I love snow, it can be a pain in the ass but it's so beautiful, it silences everything, traffic, all noise just stops, I live in Boston and drive a semi but there's something special to me with snow covered trees and houses, people come out to shovel or help the old lady next door, people chat with each other, brings people together.
Thank you so much for this Ryan!! I love your winter storm surge prediction before Thanksgiving! It helps a lot!!
Thanks Ryan. Wish that snow would make it a little farther east in Michigan. Be watching that next system. 👍✊❄️☃️❄️☃️
I’m in it in SW Michigan and I wish it was more East also. 😉
Same here being in southeast Michigan I just want some of the snow the western part of Michigan has been getting.
In Suttons Bay and you can have our 5 (or 6) inches ... so far... (Fri. p.m. ...)
I’ve got 14-16 inches here in Kzoo with another 8 or so tomorrow, welcome to take some your way if you want.
@@Chemguy91 Send it I’ll take it .
the crazy winter setting in
Dude, you really nailed it!
Looks just like Snowvember on this very day in 2014! Buffalonian transplant to TN, and this is exactly how Snowvember started when we got 8 feet in just a few days. I was in the Orchard Park area.
I live an hour east of Buffalo in Rochester right next to the lake. We aren’t getting the heavy snow, we got like a quarter inch of it last night. All of it is being dumped in Buffalo currently. We are also used to getting a lot of snow, and have been the snowiest city in the US a couple times in the last decade.
Thunder snow!! I’ll see some eventually in my lifetime
Ryan,
This weather was typical when I was growing up in Buffalo!! Our house was 11 blocks from Lake Erie. I remember the coal strike when I was in grade school!!! When we moved to Montana there were 20 ft drifts on the Thruway!!! And the crocuses were blooming in my aunt and uncle's front yard!!!
You know what kills me , we live in southern Ontario (Very southern) and every winter- hella cold and brown lol almost no snow. Even now as cities and states all around us are getting nailed, we have wind and grey skies and that is that. All of this crazy snow is just scooting around us....again.
Same thing happens for alot of South Carolina. It snows all around us and usually avoids most of the state
West Michigan (Ottawa county) we have more ice than snow, but snow is coming like crazy. Just glad it's not as bad as they were predicting back in September
I am from Buffalo and currently live just across the state line in Pa.
These storms happen. Nothing new but the duration has been unseen though.
It usually stops after a few hours followed by very wet snow.
Now if you can video the water spouts from like the Dunkirk or Brocton area, those are really cool in the winter.
I grew up in that area and we had 5' of snow all the time. 😊
Still went to school. 🤣
I love thunder snow and my favourite storm was in my first year of University with all of us going outside to watch! Blue tinted lightning is so cool to see!
NW PA and we are in a blizzard right now! Be safe everyone, thank Ryan!
I live in Ill I have only seen thunder in a snow storm one time here. We have had plenty of ice storms. Stay safe out there.
TY Ryan Hall
Some totals projecting 80in near where Reed Timmer is at. INSANE! Thank you for the premium content as always Ryan ❤
I remember experiencing that kind of thundersnow every minute for almost an hour in downtown Seattle back in February 2017… it was surprising
I'm 1 Mile from where Jim Cantor was today- Hamburg. / 4 - 4.5 feet...yes we had thundersnow last night! It has not stopped at ALL since 7pm last night. 6 Blizzards vet here 😂👍
Mother Nature is awesome . Amazing coverage you guys.. TY Ryan.🙏
Ryan you are great at what you do and a very kind person who helps in many ways. Thanks and keep doing your thang!
Thanks Ryan, Im a new subscriber and you are my go to man with weather channel. You are very knowledgeable, accurate and enjoyable to watch.
Lots of snow ❄️ 😳
I was on the Omega TV channel watching this and you got brought up soooo many times..... You have a great batch of fans Ryan!! Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family and your crew🥰👍
I live 40 miles south of Chicago and it is 25 degrees but feels like 12 degrees. So it’s very, very cold here. We just have a dusting of snow. I can’t wait until it warms up a bit. It is too soon for weather this cold!
London, Ontario and it's more grass than snow here currently. Buffalo is about a 3 hr drive due East of me.
My favorite meme of all time is the one where someone is digging out on top of their car that is almost completely buried in snow and its captioned "Boss be like 'You're still coming in today, right?'"
Love your channel. Thank you !
Thanks from a retired teacher for all the education you provide.
Really enjoy these quick daily updates.
From Buffalo, and the thunder/lightning was wild last night while it was white out snowing. We actually see this a few times every winter
This is SO exciting! I'm glad that we have your channel to watch it all unfold!!! Thank you!!! 😊
Its been a wild weather week, but I bet we get more this winter. Lake Erie is the shallowest of our Great Lakes, so lake effect snow can be crazy.
Here in Grand Rapids MI, it's around 8-12 inches of snow currently. The most I've seen is like a little over a foot. Never dealt with something like in northern New York 😮
Im in syracuse my daughter is coming home this week end im holding my breath the wind doesnt change and we start getting snow
I will never forget this storm. One of the most intense this area has ever seen, and then we ended up getting a decent storm mid December and then the historic blizzard a week or 2 later, wow.
Great job 👏 you always seem to nail it ❤
Best channel to come to for weather thank you Ryan
Saw Reed's video on Twitter. Cars were covered. 🌨🌨❄
Ty, Ryan. As usual, spot on. 🎯
Greatly appreciate the videos Ryan. It means alot. With that rain hitting NY on the 25th (maybe) how will that combine with the snow that has fallen now?
Anyone remember in 1982 when the the local weather channel said flurries and we got 3’ of thunder snow in STL? Ya…. We love Ryan!!!!
I'm very happy with your channel, thank you!
ThunderSnow is on my bucket list to experience!
King Jim Cantore must be his delightful glory..
LOL, your picture in the title!! 😅 You should've seen Reed, he gave us all the same face after he was out on foot earlier. Hilarious!!! Y'all crack me up!! 🤣🤣🤣👍
Ryan, once again you nailed it!
Ryan, you are a game changer sir. Your program is top notch and insightful, and you are too funny sometimes. I have so enjoyed your weather knowledge and your ability to tell us in ways we’d understand. Top notch program, dude!
Thanks Ryan!
I would love to live up north, have a off grid homestead but I am in Texas right now...A neighbor told me everyone has to shovel the walk, and also if you don't get the snow off the roof, it will cave down and could be fatal...He told me they charge a high dollar amount fine for people if they don't get out there and shovel their walks...He is from Illinois and told me he will never go back; he is 80 years old now and sold everything and moved to Texas...I have changed mind about going North..
Had dinner tonight with a group of friends. One of them mentioned watching you and I got so excited as I too confirmed I watch you. Keep doing what you do as your the best!!!
Good work Ryan
Glad that I live Southwest of Cleveland, just to the west of the snow belt....Been spitting and sputtering snow all week but no accumulation...
So glad your on this❗❤🙏👵🏞
The storm in 2014(?) did the same thing. Was a wall of snow that just stopped and dumped 7 feet in south Buffalo.
You nailed it ryan
They are always prepare for this. They know all about this stuff. When you grow up in this, it is normal.
Yup, live in the PA snowbelt. Needless to say it's interesting for sure. We all know the drill to stay alive. Five foot snow storm does suck. Thunder snow is pretty cool.
When you get thunder and lightning during a snowstorm you are going to wind up with 2 feet or more snow!!!!! I lived through the snowstorm of December 1st 1974 and the lightening flashed at 6 o"clock on Sunday evening and electric was out until the next Sunday when it came back on, that's the only time I seen PennDot use SNOWBLOWERS to open the roads..... I live in the Laurel Highlands of Fayette County Pennsylvania
I want snow in Texas!!
Just wait til February... lol That is when we usually get snow in Central Texas
Thank you!😊
Right on. Keep it up.
We had a thundersnow in northern Ilinois in 2011. It was the first one I ever experienced in my life, but my dad acted like it was just another day lol.
Yep! I live in northern Michigan. We had 24” of snow before 1m today. Roads closed due to pile ups. Stay home people-be safe!
I live in western NY and woke up to thunder snow ! It was sooo awesome!!! As someone who loves snow (you have to when living here) it made my morning! My house had 6-7 inches Thursday morning but my work had a dusting. That’s how insane these snow bands are!!
Thank you for the great report on Michigan
God bless you. Been there in Buffalo “back in the day”. Hope you’re safe but also think these are awesome to experience.
Keep taking care.
