It's true though. Reminds me a little of a video I watched recently, where Irish gamer guy Jack Septiceye watches a video of a behavioral analyst talking about him, comparing his early videos to his latest ones. It's kind of a similar progression, at least when it comes to camera performance - the difference here is the Switch & Click duo made that level of improvement in as many months as Jack did in years! I've said it before but this channel is the Gohan of keyboard RUclips.

Great video. I feel like not enough keyboard enthusiasts talk about the overall typing experience that comes with each board and focus on switches. Sometimes, a small difference in height can make the all the difference and I'm glad you pointed that out.

This has gotta be one of the best videos yet. The videos starting with the GMMK Pro and onward just get better and better imo. One question though, there's ABSOLUTELY no way that the Niz Plum comes with MT3 Camillo keycaps. I would put a disclaimer here saying so. MT3 Camillo would add another 120 USD to the price of this setup.

Great idea! I saw at least three new keyboards in this video I'd never heard of - but I can also think of a few that would make great competitors alongside them. I'll be shilling the KBD67L 'til the cows come home, and I hear the Portico is pretty great, too. As much as I'm no longer a fan of HK Gaming (distributors for Durgod), I do think the Hades 68 deserves to be in the competition somewhere on its own merits.

I know a lot of us make more comments about the quality of your channel than the content of a given video, but it's because every single week you guys are visibly stepping-up your game. I've seen this kind of improvement in channels before - but over the course of like 3-5 years, not just a few months. You've got performative energy, super tight editing, great color control - your videos started out good because they had good info, but I have to give props on the herculean level of polish you guys have brought to this channel in such a short amount of time.
Now... a short comment about the actual content here. What a fun idea! Frankly I'd love to see more of this sort of thing. Everyone loves a good showdown. And hey - I learned something! I'd never heard of that second board or the company that makes it.

Been subscribed since around the beginning of the pandemic and it's awesome to see the technical improvement and growth of the channel! BTW, nice impressions on this comparison. Obviously anybody's view on a category of boards is subjective, but it's interesting to hear your take on it. More videos like this would be nice, like "best boards for limited space", "Best silent boards for working", "Best wireless boards for traveling around", etc. I myself had 5 mechanicals at one point and cut it down to 2 now, that rationally cover all my needs.

I bought a Niz Plum Atom 68 after watching this video and a few other of your videos. I'm so happy with my purchase. The typing experience is amazing! I honestly love typing on the keyboard, I bought a Ducky One 2 Mini 60% with the PBT Doubleshot Cherry silent reds first and that felt too mushy, plus it didn't have the number keys which was a must so I returned it and bought the Niz. Thank you so much for such a great and helpful video!

@@percy9228 Yes! I still very much enjoy the Niz Plum. I've used it daily for the last 9-10 months and it looks and feels the same as when I bought it. Highly recommend this board. I will say, if your looking for more tactile (clicky) switches, the EC switches on the Niz Plum might not be for you, if you are looking for a more quiet and fluid typing experience this board is one of my favorites. I've only tried Ducky and Razer boards. The reason I like the Niz Plum so much is that it reminds me of my 2013 MBP laptop keyboard (quiet, easy to type on) but way better.

I got the Ducky X Varmilo MIYA Pro Panda with Cherry MX Clears about a week ago after waiting for just over a month on pre-order. I really like the stiffness factor and the tactility over something like MX Browns; plus the small form factor is definitely nice. Suggestions that you gave when I had asked as well as some of your review videos helped with the decision; along with a key tester that I recommend everyone should get when looking at a new higher end keyboard. Eventually I'd like to pick up a hotswap keyboard and start playing with different switch types, but the hobby can get quite expensive.... lol. Good thing that you and others are here to help us beginners along. :)

My reason for opting for the Keychron K6 was its bluetooth capabilities. Also it can switch between a macOS and a Windows / Linux layout on the fly by a hardware switch. The missing delete key wasn't to bad since it has a somewhat convenient combo and on linux you can use xmodmap to remap a key. On top on that it has a German layout variant which is something rather rare. What put me off was the non programmability. A shame if you consider it has two dedicated fn keys.

It's much cheaper than the Miya Pro: half aluminum case, USB-C, BT 4.0 (since this is a typing-only video having multiple connections to switch to on the fly available is huge!), same layout, PBT Double-shot keycaps, standard bottom row. Picked up mine at Amazon for under $70.00

I'd love to hear more about that Nimbleback board! 50 bucks for a hotswap 65 that can support something other than typical Outemu or Optical Gaterons (which flood this price range) has me really interested in trying to make a build out of it. Unfortunately it seems no one is even talking about this board since it's so new! I'd love to see how far that board can go since you mentioned "highly modable."
Like I really wonder what a nice paintjob, swapped gaterons, new caps, lube, case foam and new or modded stabs would do for this board. It seems promising based on your initial impressions.

Really nice videos! It was chaotic for me to select my first mechanical keyboard but through your videos, I think the time arrived!
Any chance though to provide an updated LTC Nimbleback URL?

Thanks for the video. I'm trying to make or buy my first mechanical keyboard and it's frustrating how seemingly every case has tilt. I wish there were more options for completely flat cases, because I've tried tilted keyboards and it just doesn't feel ergonomic.

Ducky makes great boards. Always have. I've been using a Ducky for years. I used a Poker for short time but went back to Ducky because of how bad the rattling is with the Poker. And, I can't solder (well, I can, but not well enough to do a board). So, my next board is going to be all in, completely custom. This Ducky One2 mini (they suck at naming boards though) is great. It didn't have really bad rattling but it had some. I did a complete foam packing of the case, then I lubes the stabs with dielectric grease. I just got some Super Lube so I did the sides of each key. It wasn't that hard. I also left the middle screw loose. It's in there, but it's just holding. (thanks for the idea. I had never heard that until she said it in another video). Then taped the screw holes with white tape, added some gray scale, side printed PBT caps from YMDK. I think it's night and day from what it was. I already leave long comments but now I leave even longer ones just so I have more to type. LOL.
Also, it's possible that I already left this comment........ keyboards aren't the only things that can be high.

Hi Betty, Hello from Italy! I really like your channel: great content and super fun to watch! I would like to ask you a question: I really like the niz plum 68 but I can’t find anywhere the one you are reviewing (with grey/white/blue key caps). Do you know where I can buy it? I am currently looking for a silent mechanical keyboard: can you please recommend your picks? Thank you and keep up the great work!

Thank you! This was a really great review video.
I've got two questions, if you could answer:
    1. Is there a design for the keycaps for the KBD Fans Tofu65? I love your description of how they just suck your fingers into the center of each key, and I'm curious if that's something that's searchable.
    2. I have fears of losing tilde '~' and whatever its normal '`' is: Without seeing it silkscreened on the ESC keycap, I'm not confident that it's there, accessible through some Fn key. Is this an actual thing I should waste time being concerned about? Or are those keys just thrown away to the 65% gods?

I think so many people just get offened by just hearing the first 3 minutes , i think keychron k6 is quite good , the height is just perfect for many people, although the rgb light effects is pretty week , but if its with brown or blue switches , its a good 65% keyboard

Would've loved to see the KBD67 Lite on here! Can't decide between that and the NK65 EE. Maybe I should just buy both, lol.
I've probably shared this before, but I'd love to see more boards between a 65% and a TKL. Speaking of NIZ, I love the Function row of the Micro 82.
Throw that Function row into a NK65 or KBD67 and I'd probably buy both.

Awesome video! I really like the Niz Plum Atom for its no key chatter. I try to buy through the link you provided but it is not available now. Also the other keyboards in their store seems so expensive. I am on a budget and wanted to buy the Niz Plum Atom even though its used or refurbished. Do you have happened to have a used one to sell on discount?

I'll still be holding out for a premium low-profile 65%. Currently rocking a Drop Alt 65%, but I know it can be better: weight, materials, LED diffuser is weak

Keycaps and case height are completely a personal preference. It's nice that you included an Alice style keyboard but they are people out there, that might, legitimately, claim that a proper split tented keyboard might be better for typing.

The Niz Plum key presses sound like music to my ears! The soft thud is so harmonic. Can you make a video with other keyboards that sound like the Niz Plum please? Is there an MX Cherry equivalent that makes the same key press thud sound as the Niz Plum?

I found this channel the other day and have enjoyed every video I have seen so far.
Is the first keyboard (the "disqualified" K6) the only keyboard on this list with bluetooth/wireless compatibility?
I have just started on my journey looking to upgrade from a Razer Cynosa Chroma fake mechanical membrane keyboard. While I adore this keyboard, I am sick of the cord and want to move down to a 65% wireless and try mechanical for the first time. I am also hoping to find something ultra quiet. I have never touched a mechanical keyboard before, so I am guessing linear switches are probably my best bet for dipping my toes in all of this. Wish me luck in finding something!

I’m very new to mechanical keyboards (as an interest - I used mechanical keyboards back in the day when that was all there was) but something you said surprised me. I use a lot of keyboards and none of them suffers from chatter/bounce. I am a proper typist (~60WPM touch typist) and I’ve seen a lot of people claim that mechanical keyboards are better for typing. If mechanical keyboards also often suffer from bounce, how is that good? None of the membrane keyboards I use does this and having to correct double-typed characters really slows you down.

I am very partial to the Ducky keyboards in general for consumer grade mechanical keyboards, like you said they are expensive but they are worth every penny and not as expensive as a custom.
