Fantastic video and instructions. As per space for 17mm : in Civic 2010 I had no issues at all . Very easy . In addition I change R3 relay because it was sticky. Thank you. You are the only one who said that this bottom sensor is responsible for starting fan. Mine was working when AC was on but did not start otherwise.
This is the best video I seen he explains everything so good some other people they just take out the sensor and they go OK here goes the sensor is already in stock but this guy he shows you everything love the video
100,000,000 thank yous for this video this is my last option on my civic and i hope it does work and xan finally stop over heating seen like 30 videos tried all of them but still heating like i said i hope this is it. Thank you once again and god bless!
I'm going through the same thing with my 2007 Honda Civic LX. Crazy annoying!!! And expensive. I'm so tired of buying coolant and overheating constantly. This is my next project. Thank the Lord there are people like him that help people like us!! I truly hope you've had success with your vehicle.
that’s what i’m trying to figure out for mine. guy at the store told me it’s the same for top and bottom but my old top and bottom are different. i have 2010 Honda
I just replaced both sensors and my thermostat and I unplugged my battery once I turned it on the code came back after j drove a couple miles and recommendations I don't know what to do at this point the car was never over heating but the light came on
@the_return024 might vary by year, location and engine size. Sometimes cars have to be localised, or sometimes there are little kinks ironed out over the years of a model's run, the info you can only (in theory) find in the manual or online
Looks very similar to my CRV of the same generation, they're based on the civic chassis so hopefully the process is the same. I can't for the life of me find the top sensor
@@alexisgallegos3284 yeah that's probably going to be in a different location. Sorry sounds like that's a different engine. You might see if anyone has a video on the 1.3. Sorry I can't help you
I think it can cause the AC to feel like it's not working because the radiator and engine is so hot it's only getting hot air for the AC to work with. But I am not certain. Hopefully that's all it is for you
Yeah I had the same trouble. It's different part numbers but my auto sales guy could not figure out which one was up or down. Sorry I can't help you more. I am not sure the actual name of them. I know they were temperature coolant sensors but one controls the gauge and I think the bottom one controls the coolant fans sensor. Sorry not sure the technical names.
looked like your lower temp sensor lost its o-ring. I didn't see one on it when you took it out. but.... in order to find that and fish it out you might need some dental tools lol. maybe flushing more water through with the drain plug in could force water out of the temp sensor hole to push out that o-ring?
For the socket, you can get ones which are specifically designed for tight spaces like this, where they have flat or hexagonal edges to grip and turn with a spanner. Not sure if that'll help. I used a similar such one for removing my motorcycle's front nut, which features a ridiculous giant hex-bolt which requires me to put a 20mm hex key into the hole, then put a socket over that, then have a foot long wrench to get enough leverage onto that using my body weight to get the bastard off. Thank you for this video!
was one sensor thicker than the other for u if so which was top n bottom?
Did you get a check engine light on?
Tengo una pregunta. Porque cuando enciendo mi carro estando frio se enciende los 2 ventiladores. Honda civic 2008. 1.8 lx?
Also the size for the bottom temperature sensor is 24 mm. Oem ones are like $50 online! Aftermarket ones are around $10-$15
Thank you for the information
Mines was 17 mm

9:21 what is that circular bolt in front of the sensor? Do these Hondas have a bolt u can unscrew to bleed the coolant
Que medida es el dado para quitar los sensores , es el mismo para ambos?
El sensor de temperatura inferior es de 24 milímetros, no estoy muy seguro sobre el superior.
Es el mismo
What is the part number for the bottom sensor?
Tankyou
My ac isnt working and my car is overheating but both fans work with the air on. Is it a bad thermostat or something else? It’s a 2010 Honda Civic
Temperature sensor
i replaced both sensors and 3 fuses still fans wont turn on, fans do turn on when i turn on ac only.
what could be the issue?
Bro ever figured it out i got the same problem
Did u figure it out

I have doubt, which temperature sensor giving feedback to driver cabin gauge? Also which temp sensor controls radiator fan please help me
If you are able to get a code it will tell you. If it shows Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 2, then it's the bottom one.
I’m haveing same problem ac also not working when it’s over heat it will happend ?

I change both of the sensor and they still won’t come on unless I got the ac on but when I have the ac on both of the fans work fine
that sounds like your engine fan relay

The two sensors are different. They are not interchangable.
You need a semi deep socket…
Es mucho video para ese sensor.que ala mejor no prenden los ventiladores esos honda es un problemon🎉
Could have been a min or two video.. Too much talking but thank you
Why when I start my car when it is cold, the 2 fans turn on?
