I bought these a couple years ago, they are awesome! Set up can take a while, but once you get it right, they can be very accurate and satisfying. My advice is to not have any lights on behind you, or else the camera will get confused, and in general play in a more dimly lit room. This was likely Ola's problem, his room was pretty bright.
Are you quitting guitar for virtual drummer version of Phil Collins?
Combine this with VR, and it would be awesome. Plus, it would give VR a purpose.
That would be amazing to see one day, you could actually get a feel for the kit and not have to guess.

Might be extremely difficult to maintain the accuracy during the show, as it requires the PS3 light to be the dominant (if not only) source of light in drummer's vicinity. Elseway, it just stops responding to the movements of shiny tiles on feet and balls on sticks.

Ola, look up Paradiddle on steam. I've been using them in VR and combining it with software called "loopmidi". Let's me use it with superiordrummer.
Downside is no kick "pedal". It is possible to buy a mobile rock band kit and use the foot pedal (more like a button) as the kick.
Take a look at it, it's pretty sick, and super fun.

This is just as reliable as any basic electronic kit, superior drummer using a electric kit for midi control is what I’m using. Cheers for the video.

I think the accuracy is better when the lights in your room is not that strong. So it's not ideal with the filming lights, which tends to be very strong, on at the same time. Test it out if you haven't already.
Lot's of people seem to do videos about these at the moment. They're going to release a VR enabled version "very soon", I'd be interested to see how that will turn out. Could be amazing.

I use Merlin Eclipse (active) in the Heartfield Talon by Fender guitar. Personally, I think they stand between EMG 81/85 and Seymour Duncan Blackouts. Next question, maybe you know either and not? Pass. This lacks any feedback and I think it could be dangerous to your wrist joints over time...like a swing and a miss in baseball. You need some resistance. Plus your drumming accuracy simply cannot be as good without said feedback. The feel will be off. You can run in sandals too- on the beach, but it's not quite the same as running in a pair of $400 running shoes on a professional track. it's all in the feel. This is worse than Guitar Hero for drums. I don't see it being as popular. For not much more, you can grab a real electronic Roland kit which will be worlds better...and look cool in your room. You would never play this with a band. You could but you would look rediculous. In reality, the playing not sounds as good either IMHO. Yes, I drum. I had a nice Roland TD8 kit. Got married, that went away along with my motorcycle. Now I only have 5 guitars and 3 amps!

Have you tried Free Drum? Swedish product btw ;) Bluetooth sensors on the sticks. Very low latency, no weird reflective things needs to be set up, only small sensors on the sticks and feet. Check it out in the web. You can literally practice in the woods just with your phone and these sensors. At the moment they have only 6 zones kit setup, but promising to bring custom zones soon.

Didn't tyco toy make something similar in the early 90's? It had plastic sticks with wires connected to a pack that you plugged headphones in. Nowhere as advanced as this but same ballpark.

A cheap drumset costs less than this. You don't feel the bounce and due to that things like blastbeats become impossible with this setup. It's a fun toy, but I'd suggest it to be priced the same as a PlayStation controller.
This is just a toy. They didnt invent it for professional use. Imagine a metal band use this in their shows. Doing those speeding double bass. Lmao

The only thing that sucks about these is that a lot of drum technique is based on the bounce back that you get from striking an actual surface.

yea i bought this tried to record with it, u seem to have set it up slightly better than me but got fed up of the lack of accuracy and the 3 snares and 2 hi hats that seemed to disappear and reapear so bought a cheap electric kit and its much easier
