Please tell me that you know that thats not the original version of that track? The original was released in April 1984. Denis Edwards 'Don't look any further'
I was just gonna write that, M People too made a cover of that, the bassline is singing all the way. So you basically copy or cover one huge hit of the past and get "inspired" to make a "new" track. Yeah probably the Daft Punk example is backwards as they get inspire by those same elements of the track like that in 1984 or similar. The original doesnt mean it ends right there, whose songs were the inspiration of the "Dont Look any Further"....and so on..
...and famously interpolated by Eric B & Rakim in 'Paid In Full' in 1987.
@@twitterPjones ..and tupac hit em up.
and ... (insert further tracks)
It do sound like “hit em up” by tupac
did you just forget to mention dynamics?
Accent the rhythm notes you mentioned at 1:09
those notes being louder is what makes it groove.
Great video but where’s the love for Paul Jackson, Jr! He’s the guy who originally played it
Z how you looking so thin while absolutely eating on the basslines
I'm going to buy your "Pro Bass Pack! It's awesome! 👍🕺🕺
That Bass line is from a (Denise Edwards) song "Don't Look Any Further (Original 12” M+M Mix) " Came out in the late 80s
Brilliant! Thank you for covering this.
Great indepth look, Z!
