Your videos are ALWAYS so helpful to me. I can do the first two skills in this video really well, but I’m going to practice the third skill. Thanks. Also trying to master the one-legged pivot. That’s a tough one. Your video on pivots helped me to realize when to get on my toes and when to be on my heels for smooth pivots. Thanks so much for your very clear instruction.
skatiee, this is the 3rd time I asked you a question and might be the 3rd time you give me a solution too! ☝🏼☝🏼 I have been observing my skating skills and it seems like I got a bit more wobblier than usual, no idea why I checked my wheels, nothing is loose ( I think ) and there's no hair in them too and I can stand normally in my skates and move around nicely // what did I do wrongg
You've been a great resource during this skating journey of mine. One stumbling block I realized two weeks ago... my skates were too small (and cheap😅). I have some new sure grips now and I can't wait to get out in them 😊
Hi Skatie! I'm learning from Italy and I love your style!❤ It would be amazing to have other videos more on the artistic side of skating (like toeloop, Salchow, Flip and other jumps, small choreographies to practice around the rink and tips on how to seem Graceful, light and elegant on roller skates).
Thank you. xx Did you see the video about building your routine? I do have a video on a half toe loop and the waltz jump. I don’t tend to do full rotation jump videos as I think it’s safer to learn those with a coach.
Normally instead of a step over/ I just do cross over. They’re useful for more than just going fast, the sharper u can do them, the more people u can avoid at rinks since u can make a better inside line than less experienced skaters. Or, you can go faster on an outside line to overtake them.
You explain things really well. Ty. Question, Is it possible that having trouble with certain skills is not a balance issue but a strength issue? The skates are so heavy and I kind of feel like if my legs were stronger and lifting the skate was easier it wouldn't throw my balance off so much.
You re such a great teacher Skatie! One of the greatest thank you for helping others on their skating journey 🌈
Thank you so much. 💕😎🤩😜🌟🛼
good idea for drilling at home 😊
Yes. Good point. Great for smaller spaces too. Thank you

Leaning on the inside edge was a great tip. Thank you Katie!
Glad it was helpful!
lol in derby we combine the step over +step under in the skills test and call them grape vines :33
Love your video's, they always make me want to get my skates on...😀👍
Oh that’s fantastic! Have fun skating.

Skating takes a lot of strength so this could definitely be the case.
Can those exercises be done on rollerblades?
aye, 100 % doable on inlines too
