thank you for this video. I'm a complete beginer so some of the moves were hard for me because I was slidding around a lot. But I felt it was super helpful. I'm conviced that doing the exercises consistently will help me get better. Thank you again!
Thanks for sharing. These are awesome tips, and I plan on following them for a few weeks before hitting the rink. It has been years since I last skated.
Love these drills, only day 5 so maybe i will give these a go in a few more days on my wheels… thank you so much i am a >40 skater that has not been on wheels in decades i am having so much fun
That’s awesome :-) this is a timeless sport, once you get over the fall risk, you can do this forever. really work on all your footwork skills, The stronger your footwork skills are the less you fall, the less you fall the more you skate!!
This was so amazingly helpful. I cannot wait to try these drills. You are a great teacher. and your butt jokes are fun 😂 Thank you so much for sharing this. It’s very generous!
Thank you :-) do this warm-up before all of your skate practices, it may be a hot mess at first, but it really is game changer for your balance and Comfort On Skates
Ok 😃 Don’t tighten them, get a carpet, yoga mat, towels, something to keep you from rolling until you’re more comfortable with picking up your feet. And then eventually keep one foot on the mat and the other on the hard surface. And then all feet on the hard surface.
@@rollerqueen I'll try that. I'm very comfortable picking up my feet but I got new skates and it's been a while since I skated. I thought tightening them would make them give less.
@@nicolebrown6743 you probably don’t need to tighten them, what you need to do with your new skates is loose in your trucks, when your trucks are loose you will have tons more control over them. The truck is on the very bottom of your plate, there should be a hex nut or a locknut there, for each truck, turn a half a turn and skate on them, put your skates on, and continue to go half a turn with each truck until you like the way your skates respond, when you have your trucks adjusted to your liking, you’ll be able to stand still. A lot of times when they’re brand new out-of-the-box, they are tighten down really tight.
Omg I never thought to loosen them. I have my 1st ever pair of skates and can't seem to keep control and keep rolling everywhere that would help right?
🙋♂️Just got myself & my daughter some new skates we have been having a blast at the rink, 🙋♂️waving hello from FL

Thank you :-) I’m so glad it’s helping, it really is your foot work, that allows you to enjoy rolling forward safely, and backward safely. 🤩🤪
