I kid you not, i've watched every beginner roller skating post on RUclips. This is hands down THE BEST post i've seen. From mentioning foot work to do with skates off to get the feel of the movement, then actually showing how to do it safely with skates on. To me just that advice alone seems fundamental and absolutely NO ONE mentions that. I've basically un-subscribed to everyone else and subscribed to your only. Just goes to show just because people claim to be experienced roller skaters does not mean they're any good at teaching it. Being 60 this year and love fitness ( been training with weights since i was 13 ) i know what sounds real and purposeful added with collective wisdom in my own self, i have an instinct of who's experienced and who's not. I'm basically looking for fitness with fun and roller skating absolutely hits the nail on the head in my mind. I'm going to follow your learner routines and hopefully one day i can message you and say 'Hey Brenda, you never guess what?...i can skate just as good as you! 😁
I've created a new folder for this video, so i can find it easily every day. Challenging, but i can see the benefits of getting great at these moves and just an excellent warmup after that! #learningthemoves Also, like someone above mentioned, you girls give good descriptions and explanations. Thanks from PEI Canada
@@magvan7874 yeszzz!! You will see all of these awesome moves show up, when you are not falling, so celebrate all those times where you almost fell, but you didn’t, because that’s your footwork saving your life 😂
I just subscribed to you channel, as I've just gotten back into skating for about a month now. I also got a pure of Sure Grip Fames because the skates that my friend let me use had the left skate roll over to the right, so now I can't wait to try them out at my local roller rink here in Detroit. I'm looking forward to your lessons, as I try to remember all the fun I had as a skilled skater. Glad I found your channel.
Hi, I’m 58 years old and I just got my first pair of rollerskates and I got my granddaughter who’s six years old got her a pair of rollerskates so we can start rollerskating together. I mean learn together.
You definitely use your butt and your legs. However, if you engage your lower core, consciously think about it and tighten it up, that is what changes your stability, your balance, it makes your stability and balance superior So mostly, as a rollerskating coach, I want you to always be focusing on engaging your core, lock it in, and of course, every day is legs day on Skates .. Depending on your body size, other recruit to support you. However, I have a a small upper body, and a large lower body. So my back takes over a lot, a little bit too much, but the benefits of my back showing up to the work out is I have great muscular physique in my back 😂
I'm new to this skating thing 🛼 😂...never skated. I came across this video & I really liked the content. I already bought some VNLA speed skates & ready to start. I'll definitely keep watching & subscribe. Brenda is amazing 👏🏾...you both are great @ this.
@@merrygwolf4629 thank you! The boots I am wearing are Edea Fly, the plates and the wheels are Roll-line. And the reason why my boots are pink and purple with glitter, is because I let my teenager paint them with Angeles paint, they were purchased plain white. 😂
@@rollerqueen they are a beaut. Nice work to your teenager. One of a kind. I'm about to paint mine but don't know what type of paint to use. Currently searching. People do not Say what size wheel they are using when us skaters know size matters and the ground as well. Thank you for responding. 🙏
