I feel sikhi awareness has dissapeared in India at least in my area and family(even extended), in my family no one shares anything about sikhi, everyone is busy in their work
that's the sad reality of today's world. But I'm trying to change it. I'm 19 and now learning more and more about Sikhi. And I try to indulge my family more nto Sikh practices. Waheguru ji meher karan.
@abhimanyusinghchhabra wah mere nikke Veer 👌
What u shared is absolutely wonderful. Waheguru ji di Mehar ho rahi hai tuhadde te..... I am just wondering, are u able to read Gurmikhi ? I am 60 yrs now, and am attempting to read Gurmukhi as it is something I missed when I was a kid.🙏🏻
Waheguru ji mehar Karan 🙏🏻
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh
Hi, I am a 13 year old Scottish Sikh boy who has recently gotten really in to my religion.
It started when me and my siblings started Punjabi classes back in mid January and went to Gurdwara every weekend.
after a few weeks I got more interested in not just the language but now the entire religion and culture. I started to see how wonderful my religion is.
Before Punjabi classes, I was pretty much full white boy who didn't know anything about Punjabi language or culture, I didn't even wear a Kara until early March when I became very religious and learned about the 5 K's. I researched more and every week made me even more devoted.
I listen and am learning to recite 3 Paaths per day and my Nanaji even taught me to tie a Pagg because I love my religion so much I want to grow my hair when I'm older.
I just want to say thank you and to the Basics of Sikhi team because I have learned so much information from you and I wouldn't know half things I know now if it wasn't for you.
@@ub65vr7v6 Hi, thanks so much for reading my story.
The Main thing was being around my own people, I would see things and wonder “I wonder what that is” or “I wonder what that’s for” and when I researched it I became obsessed, I wouldn’t go a day without researching or watching a video about Sikhism.
I think it also depends on the personality of the kid, my brother and sister are still the same as I was before and don’t know much about their culture, my sister can barely speak a word of Punjabi!
…a fit body, a calm mind, and a house full of ❤️
Dhan Guru Nanak 🙏

Books and weapons are necessary instead of mobile phones
@@Raed_khan9944 what is the main purpose of your comment. It's doesn't make any sense. I am taking about something else.
@@Raed_khan9944 First, you need to learn proper English. Second, you can capture our Punjab in your dream.
@Raed_khan9944 we are humans not pigs like you..
Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki Fateh penji
It was a good initiative, much needed and a part of prachar that should happen unknowingly in every every sikh home.
I would like to add on something that according to many gyanis of our panth have mentioned. I have always heard from Maskinji that there should be fixed place to do our nitnem, may it be a small corner of your house. We don't really need a seperate room, but only if there is prakash of guru sahib.

Keeping books & printed gutka instead of relying on phones is so much better
Fantastic job done .
I also recommend a meditation room for guru granth saheb ji
can u show your prayer room set up plz
Maybe there should be more pictures of great female gursikhs, not just the singhs
100% be sure to read the ithias on all the Singhs and Bibian who gave shaheedi too. Pictures are a must, but also please try visit the gurudware related to the sakhia. Most of them will be in Pakistan Punjab and they rely soley on western sikhs for dasvandh and sewa 🙏
👍👍👍👍👍🙏
Can u go through the different types of shastars please
Wow... being new to Sikhi, im realizing how much there is to learn. It feels overwhelming sometimes 😅. Im trying to learn Gurmuki because i do believe its the true way to understand the feeling and purity of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's message. Too many letters 😂, just kidding. The nuances of proper pronunciation is important also.
The biggest problem i have though is the cumunication barrier. Most of the Sangat at my Gurudwara only speak Punjabi. I love listening to the language, but its hard to have my many questions answered. BoS is a great resource for new Sikhs in my situation. Thank you so much ❤. I will continue my education of this wonderful gift that ive been blessed with.

I understand ❤. I converted about 4 years ago. SO much to learn.
I Think you should share Images of Great Sikh Saints with Sangat so that they can print and frame

Such a good video. Thank you! 🙏🪯
Very good, but many may not afford so much space. Perhaps making space in the heart for knowlage of our Guru's. Just a segestion, for those who think of the word says must have. Sikh is the meaning to Learn. Learn how to Live in these body as a Soul. Sorry if I had offended anyone. WaheGuru Ji Ka Khalsa WaheGuru Ji Ki Fathy.
If one has space to keep this body, then there will be space to keep these items as well ji. It is just a matter of PRIORITIES 😇🙏🏻

Question do they come in Spanish My wife an step daughter are Spanish speaking I love Sikhi stories in the house..
Sikhnet have some resources in Spanish, we have some things in Spanish too - check out this video - ruclips.net/video/Or-7SxGryL0/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Back in days before radios pothis Sahibs, photos, books and armour what did Sikhs have in the house then, is it a must have now?
Guru Nanak Dev Ji said -
Kirat Karo(work by Honourable and Honest means)
Naam Japo (Take the name of the Almighty Creator God)
Vaand Chako (Share what you earn with the needy)
Guru Nanak Dev Ji Was Absolutely Against any type of Organised Religion, Rituals and Religious Symbols (he discarded the Janeu in his childhood)
The Greeting Slogan of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Disciples (Sikhs) was "SAT KARTAR"
Guru Nanak Dev Ji (and the other 8 Gurus preceding him) Never Asked their Disciples to Grow Hair, Wear Long Underwear, Wear Steel Bangle, Keep Knife and Comb.
Even the 6th Guru, Guru Hargobind Ji preached Spirituality and to Keep Arms at the same time (MIRI-PIRI), but he also DIDN'T made a Mandatory Religious Symbol out of it.
Where can I get books in the U.S.?
Please show picture that collected by your husband our big bro. of sandhu sant Baba ji
I thought there are no pictures of Guru Sahib Ji. The most popular picture of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, which we see everywhere, is actually of Sobha Singh.
Nice thanks Ji
Just one request
We are looking for a gursikh girl for our Australian born son, if you do know one can you please help us

How you made those calligraphy Shabads?
I think a professional inscribed them.
@@Raed_khan9944 As of December 2022, there was an estimated 30,000-35,000 Sikhs in Pakistan according to Gurpal Singh and Sikhs will be included as a separate category and enumerated on the upcoming 2023 Census of Pakistan.
Afghan sikhi are about 700 in Afghanistan as of 2020.
