Whatever he's doing now I'm sure he's one of the best in the business at it.
Hi John, it's November 2019 & I wanted to take the time to say that you represented OSU very well. Betcha, your parents are so proud. I would be. Even in my prime as an athlete, I'm not sure I could high step like that & then maintain composure to twirl a baton. Hope you're still involved in music someway & somehow. Yes, I also watched your try out video! Also, I am partial because I'm from Ohio but honestly this band is spectacular. It's their straight forward military precision that is so good.
I can watch the saddest movie ever and it's whatever, but I see something like this and brings me to shed a couple tears. Amazing
That's amazing. I can barely walk and breathe at the same time. lol
I read this assuming you aren't in marching bad, and it makes it 1000x funnier
He was clean and precise and heads above everyone else. I'm so proud of the band. It's a beautiful thing to watch.
I remember when marching bands like this were the half-time entertainment at the Super Bowl
This is where 2020 has brought me..drum major videos...ain’t mad tbh.
Dude.... What a way to go! You are the real deal...
RUclips suggested the tryouts yesterday, and this today. Superb!
Watching him charge out after everyone set was highkey terrifying
That was impressive. Absolutely beautiful.
Agree!
His pic with that bow should be in the dictionary beside the word GOOSEBUMPS!
Absolutely terrific!
That intro gave me chills. John LaVagne was an awesome drum major to watch. Awesome. And I stand by what I said in his tryout from years ago .... "John set the bar HIGH". Well done young man.
Brilliant just brilliant! ❤❤❤
I'm watching this during lockdown in the South of Italy. I didn't even know these things existed. I'm blown away by the absurdity of it all, but also by the performance of this guy LaVange, I saw the video of the tryouts and he was the obvious best.
Ahh ,the lockdown. Memories
As an OSU alum, much love! ❤️ 🇮🇹
I saw this guy in the drum major try out video. This guy is amazing.
Damn... I'm a Wolverine... yet even I have to admit that's good stuff... ;)
B H it’s weird, but we’re so steeped in each other’s traditions that i find myself defending Michigan when someone who’s not from Ohio trashes them.
...that’s *MY* rival. Only I get to hate them. 😆Hahaha
Oh America you strange creature. You and your vast range of socially acceptable past times. Can’t help but admire it
This was the best thing I've seen in a very long time. Incredible.
Absolutely amazing. Breathtaking. WOW WOW WOW!
When I was in high school band in 1970 our routines were fairly simple. Today's high school and college bands take it to the stratosphere!
Man, their steps are so smooth that they look like they are gliding.
OMG!!! 50 years ago as the Drum Major for my HS band I did this same entry..right down to the big bend and touching my hat to the ground
Hell yes!
Same here, but I wasn’t near this good. At least I was in Ohio.
Now this is how a band makes an entrance!!!!!
The time that must spend practicing is all gotta be worth it . Everyone has to really want perfection and these guys got it .my hats off to all them
As a major marching band person, I would have loved to see this band live or maybe even be a member!
Everything America is is in that Drum Major strut, fantastic
The man knows how to make an entrance! Impressive stuff. Much
They don't make 'em no better!!
¡¡OSU BUCKEYES!!
This is WORLD CLASS TALENT!! Every Individual in The Entire Band is Amazing!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
John LaVange exemplifies perfection.
One day we will be able to gather like this again🙏
Insanely great backbend from an incredibly athletic Drum Major! Absolutely TBDBITL!!
Total awesomeness with goosebumps!!! Yes, saw the tryout video...
He is a great drum major👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
That is great showmanship. Band and DM. 👍👍👍
I watched all of the try outs, John was good throughout. I knew he would get it.
Sooooooooo AWESME!! WOW!! You guys are great!
