Columbia Pictures, Horizon FIlms, Sam Spiegel, David Lean, Peter O'Toole, Alec Guiness, Jack Hawkins, Omar Sharif and Maurice Jarre deserve all the praise in the world for this cinematic masterpiece. I saw this when I was 12 years old, and remains to me the finest film I have ever seen. O'Toole's Lawrence is the finest acting by a male star I have ever seen. Spiegel and Lean also did Bridge on the RIver Kwai at Columbia RIP Spiegel, Lean, Guiness, Hawkins, and the great Jarre.
A real stroke of genius by Maurice Jarre! I don't believe before or since, has a score so perfectly captured the soul and essence of a motion picture's subject matter. A real masterpiece for the ages!
This film is the perfect blending of celluloid and music. This film solidified the legend of David Lean and made Peter O'Toole a star. This film is consistenly ranked among the 10 greatest films ever made. This is one of the few films that MUST be seen in a theater on a gigantic wide screen. I remember in the early 90s it traveled with a live orchestra. It was an extravaganza to the say the least.
Ho visto tanti bei films nella mia vita, sono un'appassionata di cinema, ma questo è il più grande in tutti i sensi. PERFETTO. E la musica... semplicemente SUBLIME. Oggi non ne fanno più di simili.
The last time I saw this great film in a theater, something amazing happened. When the opening bars of this theme played, and the audience read the names in the credits of the classic cast--O'Toole, Quayle, Quinn, Sharif, Guinness, Hawkins, Kennedy, Wolfitt--they cheered. And the movie had only just begun!
Maurice Jarre took one of his greatest works and cut it down to 7 minutes for a tribute to Sir David and it sounded great, as if it was originally written that way. You can tell Jarre had an emotional investment in this piece and it all paid off. What a great performance.
i really miss peter o'toole, the best actor i've seen in laurence of arabiaa. maurice jarre wrote the best matched music for laurence of arabia. amazing.
Soundtrack pure genius.👍👍👍💓💓💓🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 Movie seen many times,my first time in London when it come out in the 60s with my grandfather who served in WW1.one of the all time greats.
O mundo maravilhoso do cinema!
The work of the master, Maurice Jarre, will live forever. Also, the great book by T E Lawrence himself, Seven Pillars of Wisdom. The blend of the two is ecstacy for an educated mind. RIP indeed. And be content with a grand legacy both of you.
@xXxFeebzxXx you are absolutely right iam from egypt and i just love maurice jarre and all of his music especially the music of lawrence of arabia in addition to this great music the movie is just fantastic peter o toole is amazing gifted actor the movie was and still a piece of pure art that is classic made to live forever.
MARAVILHOSO FILME! TRILHA SONORA PERFEITA, ATORES INCRÍVEIS E DIRETOR INSPIRADÍSSIMO!!! NÃO DEIXEM DE ASSISTIR AO MAKING OF. NESTE VÍDEO, MAURICE JARRE NÃO RESISTE À EMOÇÃO QUE SUA PRÓPRIA MÚSICA LHE CAUSA. PERFEITO!!! PARABÉNS, FREEASABIRD, PELA POSTAGEM!!
One of the things I love about Lawrence Of Arabia is the performance given by Peter 0' Toole because when he comes out of the desert with his robe back to the base he is not greeted with a warm welcome but that that does not annoy him. He did many things Laurence which is why this film would go down in history. Other scenes also show the emotion within Toole's face so it is no wonder why directors such as Spielberg, Scorsese (Wrong spelling I think) and many others love this epic masterpiece.
...I was a young man when this film came out and went to buy the record even though I had no record player at the time...played it on friends' record players...
@kingbill733 I do understand...my long-standing love for deserts are fed by this movie...the desert has never been more beautifully shot than in this movie. Real or digital and this one was real!! And another cool line..."When God made you a fool he gave you a fool's face" (Anthony Quinn)
I've never heard a score so deeply imbued with the spirit of the desert. Easily the best soundtrack, ever (though poster momentarily pauses to consider Last Of The Mohicans for its absolutely unparalleled drawing power).
Un verdadero golpe de genio de Maurice Jarre! No creo que ni antes ni después, tiene una puntuación tan perfectamente captado el alma y la esencia de la materia de una película. Una verdadera obra de arte para todas las edades!
@kingbill733 You're right, 14 people don't understand what a great moment this was for Jarre. He took one of his greatest works and cut it down to 7 minutes for a tribute to Sir David and it sounded great, as if it was originally written that way. You can tell Jarre had an emotional investment in this piece and it all paid off. What a great performance. Why would anyone dislike it? I guess I don't understand either, maybe some people simply enjoy being negative.
i think his contribution for us and our world is:: we have to cultvate the beauty as a condition for understanding in our world. a beauty is the legitimate use of reason. he lets us his example. joy & freedom, antonio
Pour se souvenir de Peter O'Toole, éternel Lawrence d'Arabie... Le cinéma a perdu l'un de ses acteurs les plus méritants... RIP Mister Peter O'Toole...

Mauric Jarre is just great, what a talent.
Jarre's scintillating soundtrack was the first record I bought with my own money. I was 13 and President Kennedy had just died in Dallas . . . .
