- This warehouse had an awesome variety of fish. From Stingrays to rare albino longnose gar to a whole room full of different types of snakeheads. It still our first day in Thailand and we have already seen so many amazing species of fish.

People always talk about how beautiful Asian Arowana are but I think Snakeheads blow them out of the water with their colors and patterns, man I wish we could keep them in the US.

The mammal you saw initially is a species of CIVET.
I don't know which one.
They are related to mongooses and so are distantly related to cats and hyenas.
Not closely related to weasels, otters, badgers who are in the dog "family".
have had a cpl of Fire & Ice here in UK.. feisty lil buggers they were...Asiatica was the most aggressive i had.. my mate now has her ..she ate all her male tank mates too lol

Rainbow snakeheads are one of the cheapest and most common snakeheads in Asia stores actually. The fire and ice is actually much rarer.

I used to have some channa aurantimaculata (golden cobra) some parachanna obscura (African snakehead), chains bleheri (rainbow snakehead) and chains gachua (dwarf snakeads), and a big bullseye snakehead In canada when I was really into fish , snakeheads were my favorite. There's no other fish that can compare
Agreed. I had some in the 1990's before the media gave them a bad rap (*just like they did for Piranha in the early 1900's after accompanying Mr. Teddy Roosevelt on his Amazon River trip) and got them banned in the U.S. through fear mongering the people... taking advantage of story's which gave the snakeheads a far worse, and so much more vicious reputation through their absolute complete ignorance of fish species in general.
90% of people that hear the word fish... think that the goldfish, and Nemo...

I Don't think that one is Barca. Please Check Channa Stewarti. Channa Stewarti is second grade Barca, in Indonesia we call it "KW".

With a language barrier, whatever way you ask a question the answer will be YES almost 100 percent of the time. I learned that from a former co-worker from Asia who did that all the time.

Actualy snake head are more easily to keep than arowana since u do not need to change water a lot some stay small some grow large, some have red and black, some have yellow and black, other have blue and white color those thing are big nice for ya show tank they can be large as big koi if keep in large pond or large, they not picky eater strong health, too bad local pet store do not have them here in ca, otherwise they they could make a pretty display for fish keeping people interest among with Asian arowana otherwise it would be pretty boring for fish keeping world, since most hobbies ideas people are keep many things as possible and regulation are funny can not keep fish that eat fish but in real world fish do eat fish, man alway try to curved the rule of nature? If u guys can bring those snakehead and Asian arowana to USA specialty ca u could make enough to open ya new farm and hatcheries in Thailand there

Barca is really expensive haha and also they don't like biological filter, a lot of people had their Barca sadly pass away cuz of it..its like the usual BB that would be beneficial to fish is not for this one..
