      Yeah probably, you'll maybe never find it again, and pro wrestlers will be at some of the big shows and probably pay $1000+ eventually for memorabilia like that. Hogan won't be around a long time and like the guy said, $300 autograph, grading time and cost etc. Easy buy for your business. It will only increase.

    Surely people by now know that they are not going to get the "sale" value if you sell your stuff to a dealer. If you want to get close to real value you need to find an individual who wants the item, not a business. I think Toyfederation is beyond fair, but it amazes me the people who come in and are shocked they won't get what they think is full value.

    • @unwelcomemotivation
      @unwelcomemotivation 8 месяцев назад +3

      Totally agree - they are a business, no matter how fair they are - they are turning a profit off your stuff. Logically, you have to take less than the value.

      @Chalor. 8 месяцев назад +3

      For sure! I've been buying and selling on eBay since '99. If I had to move a shit ton of stuff at once like this guy, I'd absolutely rather go this route than breaking down everything to sell on eBay. You lose 15% off the top, you have to wait until eBay feels like sending you your money, all the work involved packing everything and getting it shipped; then the possibility that the buyer(s) might file an illegitimate dispute with you.

    • @unwelcomemotivation
      @unwelcomemotivation 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@Chalor. Interesting angle! I buy lego star wars locally, so sellers usually get a decent price - but I never buy anything on ebay cause that 25-50 shipping always off sets the value. Probably why this guy joked about "open a store then"

    Is grading worth it? Personally, I'm not interested in the arbitrary number given to me by some random guy in an office, however, there is a genuine benefit to protecting fragile pieces in custom acrylic boxes. I just don't like the idea of the item being completely sealed in. Slide-cases are much better, because sometimes it's nice to examine or exhibit an item outside of the acrylic.

Its not worth nearly what I thought it would be when I was building it. My local shop and I agree, basically said when they buy comic collections they are buying work, so for now they sit in the basement. This can translate to all forms of collecting, and I would never say there are not valuable things etc, its why wonderful stores like yours exist, however these videos should remind people you wont always get what you paid , or what its worth, especially when selling to a store. So keep that in mind when you are buying things.

      @@Dementia_Joe I don't think so, $2500 was the value of the whole pile, which they will usually give 50-60% of. What was on this calc was what he had added up for the value of the collection (what he could sell it for).

Rick or whoever replies with "Weeeeeeell the best I can do is the lent in my pocket and I get to go fool around with your old lady sitting in the car. I mean I got to sell it for 3000% what I pay you so." Lol Literally offers them 18% of what it's worth. Even after their expert appraises it.

      Actually, Hogan's signature price is all over the place. I think it is $300 because it was signed with a personalized message. At Hogan's Beach Shop, I think a standard ticket is $200, but its $300 for a VIP ticket. The VIP gets you a signature, personalized message, and selfie I think.
      Which alot of that doesn't make much sense, because you can buy signed bandanas or 8x10's for $100, you just don't get to meet Hogan. So what's the signature really worth, when you don't get to meet him in person? How do you separate the value of the experience from the value of the auto?

    • @maxchan179
