I'm a little over half an hour away, and it feels like eternity lol.
This really is the best part of my Saturday morning. Waking up after a hard week of work, having coffee and watching some Toy Federation. I feel like I know Ryan and Travis at this point. I don't collect Marvel Legends but seeing a collection is just amazing to look at. The build a figures never interested me before either, but they are starting to grow on me. That Fin Fang Foom is pretty damn cool.🐉
Ryan was messing with Travis. Saying he was going to grab that original Fing Fang Foom for himself. Hah, had Travis all nervous, he started knocking stuff over on the counter.

Yeah, could tell he really liked everything. Wonder why he sold. Maybe just realized he was aging, maybe some health stuff and didn’t want his family to need to deal with it…
Best part of Saturday morning. When you guys get all the shop finished, are you going to have people like in another room doing all these trades instead of in the middle of the floor? I think that would be ideal. Have some table set up where everyone can sit down and you guys can look at the figures instead of sitting on the floor.
NO! What is it with people wanting to take this into another room and setting up a dedicated space for trades on a table?? THIS is what makes Toy Federation stand out. I love how they just dig in the middle of the store on the floor and just talk toys.
@@tuxerjonesdid you even watch the video? He had already sold 1000ths of figures on eBay/market. Now he wanted to sell to this particular store because he liked the show and wanted to browse the items there.
That collection could take months worth of full days listing on eBay. And then there’s eBay’s 13.25% fee on the TOTAL SALE which includes taxes and shipping. Not to mention the packaging materials (boxes tape bubble wrap etc) and the trips to the post office. Speaking from experience that collection could easily take a year or more to sell online as a part time job.
Watching them both sitting around the the “toy box” looking at the legends figures brought back those memories of you and your buddy doing the same thing just before you pour them all out and set up for the biggest battle of all time. Love these videos for the info but for all the nostalgia. Thanks again for another banger!
Remember sitting on the floor with your friends and going through each other's toys and trading all that nostalgia? Seeing these guys go through toys on the floor is cool.
Try owning a retail shop for a minute before judging brick and mortar required margins. Sitting inventory is a problem - and having to “take” what people bring rather than shopping b2b is a whole different game.
Really enjoyable episode here. Like others just nice seeing the guy go back through his own collection and remember things. 14 hours drive just to sell to someone he liked. Hope he gets a christmas card :D
I love how you do business you’re honest with the customer and if the customer doesn’t like the deal they can walk away , I am sure you have had plenty of people do that . People always think they are being ripped off , if you are collecting for value you are collecting the wrong thing . Keep up the great work
This was hands down probably my favourite episode so far! I’m a GI Joe Classified collector and to see the Marvel Legends - the line that arguably helped get modern 6 inch action figures a place in the market - get some love was great to see ☺️👍

I think you missed where he said he had already sold 1000ths of his figures online and was done with that for now. He wanted to come here specifically, so he did
The guy enjoyed the YT channel and understood what he had. He sold over 2000 other figures online. He went in with a price and the offer was within $58 of it. Both parties are happy.
Remember when selling to a toy shop comic shop you will always only get half of what's it's worth at best. If you want the most for your stuff selling online is the way to go
It’s nice to have a shop but even nicer when nice blokes like this come in you can connect with the through our hobby. Maybe open a toy bar next door 😂
As many times as I've watched people carrying bins in one at a time, you guys should really invest a few bucks into a carpet dolly to help save your backs, lol!

I used to own my own Comic Book Store, not in business anymore, the closest I ever got to a really good deal was when the Media Chain Hastings went out of business. They called me up and offered me a 1 hour headstart on their 'Going Out of Business Sale'. I get there and they offer me a further deal if I will buy all the Female DC! I ended up with close to 50 Figures for like $100. I had many of these characters, but not these particular variants; Arrowverse, Elseworlds, Wonder Woman Movie, New 52, etc. I had enough to start another Earth, one based on the Created Equal Graphic Novel.
Great video. I like the interaction with the seller and Brian. Honestly, did the collector enjoyed buying, collecting and displaying. Yes he did. You don’t buy to resell, a person collects because they enjoy it and the memories of it. Thank you Toy Federation.
Like the seller, he became old and now looks like George Lucas. I am getting old and still missing my X-Factor Wolfsbane (I know she is coming out this year) X-Force Feral and Excalibur Rachel Summers Phoenix.
The toybiz fing fang foom!is a long story. I stopped collecting when that bar happened. Then after years of resentment that the $escalated to $$$ I finally got one. But the man-thing back is what got me into reality of marvel legends being worthy ❤😂😂😂

It's funny how so many people get upset when they say piece on toys, and that its not art. For each its own, I have a friend that collects records and he's always making fun of toy collectors that they are little kids etc., etc. He doesn't understand why people collector toys. I told him why you collect records and all you do is clean them; you don't even listen to them, and you can stream or download every song. He didn't say anything after that lol. Just enjoy what you want to enjoy.
If I ever have to sell my collections I feel like making the 6 hour drive would be worth it!! Hopefully I never have to but would still love to stop in regardless!
I agree with your Star Wars assessment Ryan. There's no way Rey would have defeated Darth Sidious. Can you picture Rey taking out Darth Maul & Savage Opress alone? I think not!! lol Jordan
Do people not understand how business works? If they gave him full value for everything, there is no guarantee they’d make that money back. Guy wanted $3000 and he got $3000. He didn’t want to take the time to sell everything because he needed quick dough I guess if you don’t play trading card games, or don’t deal with businesses, you don’t understand. If a card shop gave full price for the cards people bring in, they’d be losing money, which is why they always give 50% to 75% of the card’s value. It works the same with other collectibles.
Even TCGs have a more direct market than a lot of true collectibles because one is used for play while the other is kept for the memories. Markets cross path from true TCG collecting though. Either way I think comes from a fear they are getting ripped off and watch years of their lives flash before their eyes.
I wish I was/am as good as cataloging parts to the figure. Right now, the accumulation of accessories in bags are overwhelming for my collection. Watching this brings back some fond memories. Back in the mid Aughties, I sold a large Star Wars PotF2 collection to Brian's Toys in Wisconsin in order to pay for my dog's dental work. I think he gave me a better deal than I deserved. Thanks again Brian!
Used to have a store like yours back in the 90s (was one of the few around) did well for a while and most of all I enjoyed it . However when I started to notice more and more people coming in to sell and less people coming in to buy I could see that was a sign.
I imagine it would be very easy to take advantage of someone bringing in all this stuff. My guess is, they might settle for a very small amount so I appreciate this channel at least trying to help this guy out.
I made between $10,000-$12,000 in 2023 selling off most of my toy collection by using eBay/Mecari and FB. Was hard work but patience does pay. Most shops only wanted to give me $3,000-$4,000 for it all.
Yeah, now imagine paying someone an hourly wage to do all of the work you did, and minus that from your profits. Don't forget any costs and fees, petrol costs running it up and down to ship it, electricity fees for when you were using the PC, lights, etc. to do it, then the food you ate whilst you did it - if you treat it like you were an employee, and subtract all of your costs, you'll probably find that you're pretty close to being where those stores were with their offers. @Foxhole1776 No, I'm not a business owner. I'm a collector, and I've sold 4 huge collections in my lifetime, and it's an awful lot of work to do. You don't give these store owners enough credit for their knowledge and generosity. Collections weigh you down, and some people want them gone quickly. Places like this are a Godsend. Some resort to giving them away or dumping them.
Same! I sold my entire Black Series and Marvel Legends from 2008-2019. With a few imports and other brands. It took me about 2years but I made $16k (according to Mercari and eBay selling stats)
Just curious if you have a channel where we can watch all the toy ads that you have playing on the tv in the store? I could just watch those to relive my youth. Great video as always!
You can buy heat shrink bands to put on the loose car cases. A little bit of labor, but it lets you display without having cases scattered all over your store. Less labor and cost than sealing and shrinking a full bag.
I’m no expert in selling collections but I do know how difficult it can really be, when a dealer gives you a price it more than likely is the best they can offer you without taking up too much time in the day
It is so funny that you guys were talking about the Norman Osborn comics Iron Patriot and we are getting both in the Marvel 85th Anniversary line this year.
Yeah we have useless smyths here and some smaller but more expensive comic stores😭 I asked 1 clueless smyths drone worker if they had any other vintage collection in the back as there was only a few figures on the pegs He said we only sell modern toys🤦🤔...🫨💥🤛 What an idiot😂

You just gave yourself the answer why - "Was hard work."
Just curious if you have a channel where we can watch all the toy ads that you have playing on the tv in the store? I could just watch those to relive my youth. Great video as always!
You've gotta invest in a couple of long folding banquet tables to sort, so you won't throw your back out :)
They have tons of tables. Hes prefers looking at the toys on the ground.
"Then you can just look at them." That's a collector right there.
You can buy heat shrink bands to put on the loose car cases. A little bit of labor, but it lets you display without having cases scattered all over your store. Less labor and cost than sealing and shrinking a full bag.
2,942$ 5c was the total he got just in case anyone was wondering like myself. So yeah that worked out for him. 👍
Keep the long episodes going
Awesome deal. And the joe stuff in the beginning was sweet. YO JOE
COBRAAAA!!!!
a realistic collector. perfect deal.
Your store is so cool man. Big love from the UK
Yeah we have useless smyths here and some smaller but more expensive comic stores😭
I asked 1 clueless smyths drone worker if they had any other vintage collection in the back as there was only a few figures on the pegs
He said we only sell modern toys🤦🤔...🫨💥🤛
What an idiot😂
Everyone sitting on the floor. Memories.
I was visiting a family member north of Atlanta over New Years and just now realized I was within driving distance of the store. Wish I had known it was in Greenville - I would have stopped by.
The number of figures is incredible. 😮😮
Great style for an older dude, looks like a retired country musician
Awesome, man I really enjoy the content can't skip thru with all the knowledge and the passion of collecting that shows.
That StrikeForce stuff is super cool!
Cool video and great interaction with the sellers and buyers. Subscribed!
