    The biggest thing I took away, apart from the amazing plays you highlight every week (thank you, btw), is how articulate you actually are, Steve. I know, you're a journalist, and these videos tend to throw a jokester light on you (entertainment purposes, no doubt), but just how you were able to express the evolution of hockey and how what was unthinkable 30-40 years ago is now so commonplace as to be blasé, and how what we find amazing now will be common in another 20-30 years. You impressed me, and for a man who screams in his basement, that's a Hat Pick :)

    • @IhaveaDoghouse
      @IhaveaDoghouse 2 года назад

      Anyone who has watched 1 gretzky highlight video and seen 1 game today can see the evolution of hockey, All I get from Steve is highlights with annoying fake over reactions and statements that someone who doesn't actually understand hockey would say. I get the "entertainment" of it, it's just annoying that that's what people actually enjoy for entertainment now. I would much rather prefer a clip of the highlights with a regular talking head over it.

    • @Kroitk
      @Kroitk 2 года назад +1

      @@IhaveaDoghouse Just because someone could see that 1 Gretzky video and 1 game today and see the evolution, doesn't mean Steve is not allowed to highlight that fact and reiterate it for the wider audiences, just to cement the evolution that is not debatable. If you know Steve and his style, he has been doing videos with his reactions for 15 years, and he has been a Leafs fan through the thick of it for way longer, and that's passion any way you cut it.
      You don't have to like it, which is why you can stop watching his videos and go elsewhere if he annoys you that much, but it sounds like a personal issue if you can't ignore that and enjoy the compilation.
      All you sound like is just a bitter boring sour pus who wants to piss on other people's parade. Lighten up, guy.

    • @IhaveaDoghouse
      @IhaveaDoghouse 2 года назад

      @@Kroitk Of course he can do it; I never said anything of the sort that he is not allowed to do anything. I was just stating the evolution of the game is overwhelmingly obvious for people who have seen 5 minutes of highlights from those two era's and that the over exuberance isn't for me; but I understand that some people do find it entertaining. Obviously the majority must enjoy it because that is the direction that all media seems to be going towards. I do enjoy the highlights which is why I'm here, and to be honest not ALL of Steve's commentary annoys me or I wouldn't be able to handle it, but there are definitely some things every video he does for "entertainment" that are just annoying for an old school hockey fan. I saw a few of his videos before he got on Sportsnet because there is such a limited amount of hockey youtubers and I don't have TV, so I knew his style already. It would be great if Sportsnet added an additional weekly compilation of the stories, highlights, injuries, big hits, milestones etc. with a narrator for people who aren't in to the schtick. Not trying to piss on his parade, I was just stating my opinion that his schtick isn't for me and I wished Sportsnet had another compilation as well. Obviously there are people who prefer Steve's highlights over the classic style so I wouldn't say get rid of him; that's not what I was trying to have people get from my comment.

    At this point I don't know if comebacks for the Blues are even hat picks anymore. The last minute one was exceptional but the Blues coming back in the 3rd despite being down is becoming normal now. They did it against the Stars, they did it against the Preds, they almost did it against the Leafs. The Blues have half a roster most of the time this season but apparently no idea of what the word quit means.

    Soooooooooo question...
    Meier scored for the sharks, goals 1, and 3-6, not scoring #2 which was Balcers.
    Obviously the first 3 goals of his epic 5 count for the Hatty, but would technically 3-5 or 4-6 count for a Natty Hatty?

    It's unfortunate Steve didn't do a Hat-Picks after Zegras-Milano goal (the last one he did prior to that was December 7th, precisely the day it happened.

    I was hoping to see Malkin's first game back this season make the list. He scored two goals and got the puck with an empty net. Instead of going for the hat trick, he passed it off and got the assist. Not a hat trick, but a hat pick. At least in this Penguins fan's humble opinion.

    IMHO, Stars-Blues is a clear dang-it for Stars. Look at both goals. The first one, goalie jumping like a goat. The second one, a classic home-kicker.

    Dostal's paddel save should be here along with Hawks stopping puck going over the line TWICE and scoring a goal right after that situation

    A between-the-legs goal won't always be a hat pick ... but a between-the-legs from that absolutely RIDICULOUS angle, well, that always will be.

    When you show the Dallas Stars on the wrong side of two hat picks, you're supposed to show them on the right side of two hat picks. That's the deal right?
