As you may have guessed, this is no ordinary Porsche; Lorenzo has owned his 356-A since he was 21, and in his over 50 years of ownership he has put over a million miles on the clock. Along with his Million Mile Porsche, he has lived a mind blowingly full life. For many, “being spontaneous” means an unplanned trip to the beach or going out on a whim, but for Lorenzo it means throwing his adventure bag into his little Porsche and hitting the road; sometimes just to go to Julian, other times to go on a 15,000 mile road trip along the edge of North America to meet the Eskimos. “I’ll get a call to visit a friend in another state, throw my bag in the car, and hit the road”, he told me “at the very least I know it’ll always be a good time if I’m in my Porsche”. Aside from all the crazy adventures, and the cool car, the thing that is most admirable about Lorenzo is his profound appreciation for the little things in life. Even though he has embarked on countless journeys that many people only experience in their dreams, he’s just as happy driving his car 5 minutes from his house to hang out with the many friends he’s made at sunset cliffs as he is racing through the deserts of Mexico or Europe; as long as he’s with his car, nothing else matters.

I met Lorenzo back a couple years ago randomly. He had his 356 parked up at Ocean Beach where I enjoy going to during my visits to CA. I came up to him and chatted about his car. He told me about his adventures with the 356 in the video and all the other Porsches/cars he owned over the years. We talked for quite some time. He even let me sit in his 356 and I have a video of me going into it and the only thing I say is “wow”. Lorenzo is the real deal and I hope I can cross paths with him again.

very few in south of the USA. People thought it was a fiat. ha. Thanks

In 1965, i had a 1961 356 sunroof, red with saddle interior. Till today I miss that jewel of a car. Now I drive a VW GTI it’s cool too. Loved your video and the car. Stay well ! RickGTI…

Sat. 1/20/23, 11:30 am, Lorenzo is here. He just drove into the OB pier parking lot. He's driving his 56' Beetle. Retractable sun roof. 1600 dual port, zenith carb. Shiny chrome New Tires. Fresh oil. Draws a crowd. Hot chick walks up, captures his attention, asks him for a ride. There they go. end of story.

I hope you are still around Lorenzo. Back in the early 90's I did much the same with VW's so I had a car to get around. Buy - remove the good stuff - flip it. Love to hear it.

I had the opportunity to meet Lorenzo on sunset cliffs about a month ago. I had my Yashica Mat LM and a few other film cameras. Chatted with him for about an hour and grabbed some portraits of him and his car. Wish I had grabbed his email to send them to him. Let me know if you can help me out!

Coleman Calgary That’s what you think about after seeing this? 🙄 What’s he supposed to do huh? Film the odo turning over every time he hits 100k? Then you would just say he rolled back the odo each time.
I suppose you also don’t believe he lost part of his brain in an accident because he didn’t show you the medical report. Or that his wife stole all his money because he didn’t show you a police report...
