Oh Molly, you never disappoint! Wonderful as always......keep it coming......look forward to seeing you over here in the UK! Thank you for brightening our days.
How hauntingly beautiful. So reminiscent of Death Cab for Cutie . Perfect homage to the original yet so much of you here . Always pushing the boundaries Molly . Brilliant
Absolutely one of your best compositions to date Molly......good to see someone not afraid to make a statement. Also great that you're experimenting with styles.......keep it up!!
I never seen a person that can be so bad ass and so demure at the same time. love you Molly. You have a beautiful voice don't let anyone cover it up with special affects.Thats for when you get old or have a crappy voice.
Heck yes Molly. Thank you for helping us stand against it to make it real. All the wisest people of all times have said two things : simplify, and look to Nature.
Molly's brother and father build custom motorcycles in Orange County, New York and even had a show on Discovery Channel featuring them in the early 2000's.
There a difference between being "woke" and being in touch. Molly you are so in touch with the all that is real and good and pure. You speak to the universal truth of love and light. God bless you!!
If any new viewer's out there liked her song then listen to Sleep walking Lightning in a jar Take the journey I'm sure you would fall in love with her voice too And lastly thanks Molly for keeping the art alive
i never add comments anywhere on net. but this is genius, sheer genius, not a cover not a remake, genius! boys and girls, whether you know it or not you're looking at the next Alison Krauss or Emmylou! Molly, never go to sleep , always stay awake in Reality!
I'm a serious fan of Molly. I just saw a video of her doing her own composition when she was 17 and while her chops have improved dramatically her song and singing was great. I don't know about this. If there is some attempt here to relay a clear message I cannot say I know what it is. I'll stick with Molly for the time being and see where she goes with any messages she feels strongly about. I also appreciate and respect that she resists being pigeonholed as strictly a bluegrass musician. However, that's what attracted me to her artistry. While I enjoy lots of different types of music it's Molly's BG playing that resonates most for me. Her other material, with some exception doesn't move me nearly as much. Of course her spontaneous playing and singing of a Rancid cover during an interview was awesome!!! It will be fun to see where her career takes her. But if I see any clear messages going against God @ country it will have me bailing on my favorite artist. So I just checked out, what seems to be the original version of this song by the band, The National. The original sounds more interesting. As another commented, Molly's take is over produced. The National's version sounds pretty good. Basic tune. The comment credited to the writer, Bryce Dessner on Wikipedia, "Fake Empire is commentary about a generation lost to disillusion and apathy." If that's the case, it seems to refer to a generation that needs to get off the pot. Wake up and smell the roses.
No we don't America isn't an empire that is the stuff of kings and emperors, are leader are bums that we ca get rid of this song speaks to nothing that is happening in this country.
Molly ... Thank you for this rendition. Your music, the images .. all resonate with me, an old activist who came of age in the late 1960s & early 1970s. Now I'm an old white (mostly l man with three generations of descendants, some who are biracial. I support the movements of today, especially BLM, because these changes are needed to make for a better world.
It's the same generic "on point " message you can from every other virtue signaling entertainer: America's bad! Now buy my music and see my movies so I can make millions.
Imo some production flair is a-ok as long as the artist has fun or finds fulfillment making it, especially if it helps amplify a message. This comes across to me as inspired and intended to meet the moment. I think it does, and it also sounds good 😄
This newest album is not a project i am interested in.I really don't need an album of covers for anybody.I also think young musicians should probably write the own songs about what is happening now, it's there time and there voice should really be there's sorry I'm not in the camp thinking this is some great piece of work.
What a silly take. Advocating for peace and an end to US hegemony (if that's even what the song is about) doesn't also make you an advocate for an authoritarian state. If anything, political dissent like this is a check to power that could help prevent the world you fear from coming to be.
@@meatsong Sounds to me like she's advocating for a CHAZ across America. If this "empire" of ours is fake then I guess in her mind capitulating to violent rioters and street mobs must be oh so real and stylish.
@@magahorse210 Try looking at the situation with a little nuance. Not agreeing with the tactics used by some people in a movement doesnt mean the movement's demands aren't reasonable. If "capitulating" means taking steps to ensure we have a more just criminal justice system, then by all means we should capitulate. It shouldnt take establishing a CHAZ in every city to improve the way the country polices itself, and if it does, then shame on us.

How hauntingly beautiful. So reminiscent of Death Cab for Cutie . Perfect homage to the original yet so much of you here . Always pushing the boundaries Molly .
Brilliant
I’ve always thought a Ben Gibbard harmony would work perfectly on the original
I feel personally attacked by the suggestion a National song sounds like Death Cab.
Wonderful!
Beautiful rendition and video.
Outstanding,Awsome Song for Today's Time's in this World💖 She's an Angel, Very Old Soul💜
So powerful. Right now ALL of Molly''s music does me in, but this one hits me on a very personal level. Thank you Molly!
Great performance of a great song!
Beautiful Melody❣️

Funny i find this disappointing seems like a waste of her talent to me.

You're unique. You're voice reminded me the best Sinead O'Connor. Smooth and powerful at the same time. Cheers from Italy.
The reason I think she sounds like S O is because they used special effects,I think they used dubling on her voice. S O used that kind of thing alot.
Yay Molly Tuttle!
Powerful song Molly.
Incredible. Five thumbs up! Stunning performance.
Thank you, Molly. Not many have the courage to express how they feel.

A lot, but the song she is covering has so many layers to it, you kinda have to. This is considered really stripped down for a song by The National.
