Molly Tuttle and Billy Strings literally grabbed this old punk rock bassist by the ears and drug me into the genre of inspired original bluegrass, and I've not looked back. These young adults are making me excited about music again. not to mention they don't seem to be about partying so much I have to worry about them surviving their youth. Rock on, Molly. You are delivering the goods. ❤️🤘🤓🤘❤️
Screamin' Steven - Exact ditto from me. I’ve been playing classic rock for over 40 years (Floyd, Zeppelin, YES, etc). I accidentally came across Molly and Billy about a month ago. Now I’m learning a whole new genre of music and technique. I even went out and purchased a new acoustic for the journey. (Luckily, being a Steve Howe fan all my life has prepared me a little bit). 🤘🤘❤️ 🎶 🎸
Agree Molly's amazing. Lookup Larkin Poe, another young blues rock band that evolved from bluegrass roots. It will expand your musical universe for sure.
@@Equality72521sr I got my first acoustic when I was 16, while I wasin a boy's home or state school if you will because I was a wild kid that ran away a lot and that sort of thing. If it wasn't for Bob Dylan and Neil Youngand the old school song books that had the chord diagrams, I probably would have never learned to play guitar. Since the band I was in for over 25 years, BILLY JOE WINGHEAD, retired 3-4 years ago, I've renewed my acquaintance with my acoustic and my harmonicas, as well as picking up a few new instruments. @@frankboyd. i will look them up. I recently became aware of the infamous string disters, and they're pretty cool too from what I've heard so far. They do some pretty cool covers.
Absolutely love this track. Its a departure from bluegrass/Americana, but it shows her talent in arrangement & selecting songwriting that's right for her, which is vital as an artist.❤👍🎵🎶🎼
International Bluegrass Music Association 2020 nominee for female vocalist of the year and guitarist of the year plays punk rock. Amazing talent. Absolutely love this video.
I've never been a Rancid fan. But put any song in the hands of Molly Tuttle and it is instantly elevated. Not many artists are capable of reworking old punk rock music and turning into something that could be a chart topper!
I was looking up this song to listen to the usual Rancid original, and NOFX cover, and was so surprised! Molly Tuttle, the bluegrass artist??? Such an inspired cover, I've been listening to it on repeat all day. I looked up info on how this cover came to be and it was really cool to hear that growing up in the Bay Area, Molly listened to Op Ivy and Rancid.
How many times will it take me Before I go crazy Before I lose everything Somethin' burning deep inside of me #yes im back again.. Ty guys.. I love ur music
I have been watching Molly Tuttle the last couple of years and she is one of the most amazing artist I have ever listened to. This new release is one of the best rock she has ever done. Lord can she pick a guitar.
I just heard this song on the radio at 2:00 in the morning for the first time. I knew all the words but couldn't place how at first. Probably 15 years since I last heard the Rancid version, but it brought back some great memories. Love this version
I am so thankful to be living in an age where I can learn of people like Molly Tuttle and have access to videos like this. Starting my day with this song is like three cups of coffee in one! 👍🏼😎
Always knew there was correlation between bluegrass and punk rock. This fucking rules and gives the NOFX cover a run for its money. Thanks, Molly, and keep rocking, girl 🤘🤙
Wow what a song. Didn't expect this! She is strumming, singing and it all comes together. In essence: isn't she one of the best guitar players and singer/songwriters in the world!
Haven’t thought of Rancid in a long time! I just remember seeing them, then Devo, Soundgarden, and Metallica closing the show in the 90’s. Miss Rancid and sure love Molly!
She sings great, plays at a world class level, writes songs, looks fine. Big future.. Speaking just for me, I hope she keeps that eclectic mix thing going. Love the Bluegrass and traditional stuff. Rancid wishes they could sound this good!
This just gave me chills. Her music always does, but this one of the most important songs in my life played by one of the best musicians ever (I think). ❤️
Never expected to have my bluegrass folks take me back to my punkrock high school years. A So fitting it’s this song that did it too. That’s where we always saw Rancid, at 52 and Broadway. Used to be Roseland Ballroom. No idea What’s there now. But prolly not that. Even I’ve moved on to bluegrass. Thanks (!!) for bringing it all back for me.
Hey ya'll I like this song and she rocks on that guitar and the song is a hit I'm a bluegrass man from way back but I like all kinds of music I only play bluegrass well I try lol but yeah I'm going to look this song up and by the cd they still make CDS right just kidding lol

Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined hearing Molly Tuttle cover Rancid! This took me out of the misery of 2020 for just a few minutes and made me feel like I was back in high school hanging out with my best friends and drinking 40s of cheap beer while we spiked our mo-hawks to get ready to go busking. Thank you Molly! You're an inspiration to us all.
❤️ Love your talent Miss Molly ❤️ Olympia was the place I caught the lifelong fever for live music and I sure do have a long list of musical icons I have been blessed enough to have seen live after that fact. Oh the night in 1958 that started my fever, oh I heard the live music , felt the lights and was alight with the excitement of the musical moment from a theatre in Olympia Washington and the buzz NEVER has left my soul. I was not yet one year old and from the lap of his mother experienced the magic of a young prodigy known to the world as Don Rich. That is special
What Molly? I knew you were great but I had no idea you were this awesome. Rancid? Just bumped Molly up 10 levels in my book. This song always reminds me of all the punk shows at Roseland when I was young and free.
I'm an old man, Molly, and you are my hero. You can do no wrong. Please play Chapman University when things get back to normal in southern California. Fair winds.
That moment when your current music taste catches up with your teenage music taste.
Verbatim
I've been going back and listening to music I listened to as a teenager, rancid is definitely one that I still enjoy
Molly even made the video in Tim-o-vision. This is so good.
“Tim o Vision”?? Haha!
Haha yes it really adds to it!
@@chasbodaniels1744 go look at like most rancid videos/ the give em the boot video. It's like his aesthetic at this point haha.
as a bassist I miss the kick-ass bass lines of Matt Freeman I dont see here.. :(
EXACTLY what I was thinking.

I bet Rancid is happy with this!
😉
What do you get when Rancid is covered by Molly? Greatness! My vote is a Tim and Molly collaboration!
Quite possibly the best thing I've heard this weird year, and I've been listening to a lot of music lately. The woman is amazing.
Well, that made my day...

What a great cover. Never heard of Molly before. Just clicked because of the song and was blown away. Made a fan out of me in record time.
I heard this song on Outlaw Country and had to pull the car over to listen. I'm hooked!

I am stunned at how GREAT Molly's cover is. Then that I as a real music geek , did not know Rancid did it first. MOLLY TUTTLE RULES!!!
And now for something completely different....
The Grateful Dead and Rancid are my two favorite bands and she reinvents two of my favorite songs by each of them. Bravo..

Molly Tuttle = amazing
This is absolutely one of the best covers of anything ever
I love it when cover versions give their own take on the song.

Molly has accomplished much since this. It remains one of my favourites.
So happy she came to my city. ❤❤
Totally unexpected, totally awesome.
Molly doing this cover is just unreal. Perfect!!!
Just heard her cover of Ruby Soho which was outstanding. And now I’m here.
Your Operation Ivy Covers are phenomenal too, Molly, as is this Rancid cover. Tim and Jesse should be proud!
Imagine if her and Tim did a version. I'm sure he'd be up to it.

I agree this should happen.
Yes we need a Tim Timebomb ft Molly version!!
Yes please!
