If you play an Air Genasi that always holds its breath unless it speaks, you'd never drown nor get poisoned by any air-borne toxin.
You absolutely could, but, do you really wanna miss out on all the fun?
I don't really see the point of doing that but sure go ahead if you want can't stop you either way
I am currently playing an Air Genasi Tempest Cleric. Shocking Grasp goes so well with the theme.
It all connects really well, and it feels good to use it you can be very elusive
Not gonna lie that's really good synergy it's pretty much the reason it's so popular which I love the concept because of that fact
I'd pair this with a Storm Sorcerers thematically. Grab the Eldritch Adept Feat for Misty Visions to cast Silent Image freely, and fly up to 10-ft as BA each round, preferably outside of combat.
This is a really good character concept not gonna lie

I’ve got a player playing an air genasi alchemist artificer in my Descent into Avernus game. They were killed by a couple chain devils and they made deal with a devil to bring them back to life for their youth. Now they made another deal with that same devil to hire twelve more devils into that devil’s service for their youth back.
They can be a lot of fun cus there just so free.
So an alchemist artificer fiendlock multiclass that's water, fire and Air if you think about it water because of the alchemy you know liquid and all fire because of the fiend subclass pretty self explanatory and air because of the air genasi all this player is missing is a way of putting earth into the mix and the player can claim to be the avatar
I just started a windsoul air genasi artificer, I plan to become an artillerist and use the elemental aspect to create air-powered weapons & tools
I just played an air genasi bard who was college of irony so a jester, lots of chaotic tumbling and cartwheels off of cliff edges to feather fall or levitate back. In our final battle of the one shot the person we were rescuing came into battle with us and so I levitated them up way above the battlefield on some wind so they couldn’t get hit or intervene hahahaha; shatter / thunderclap / warding wind / stinking cloud filled out some other spell slots 🤠 so fun !

Here we go my favorite genasi also Captain Dumont was swashbuckler\fiendlock and i leaned into the flamboyant pirate archetype using warlock to supplement it with the charisma skills

I’d build an Air Genasi as Tempest Cleric of Keranos, Theros God of Storms.
Using the “Acolyte” background and the “Oracle” gift, I can create a decider of fate.
Genasi are a fun race to think about and strategize. There so cool to tie to an idea on any level. You can tether them to just an alignment. Or a concept, and it always works out so well, cus there so malleable.
I'm thinking about making an air genasi Geni pacted warlock who's Geni patron is a Dao but I'm having trouble figuring out how to make it work can we have a character build video about this build I'm trying to make?
Maybe but I might have covered a lot of it in my genie pact build. What about this character is giving you trouble?
@@TheSinisterheroes I'm just having trouble understanding how to make it work flavor wise and how each of the elemental abilities can complement each other is all
If I hadn’t already done a genie video I would absolutely make one for you. The issue is there just isn’t enough information to put into a video that would differ greatly. But I do have some ideas and I’ll put them in in just a few minutes cus I wanna make sure I get the information right.

Ok so here is my take. First and foremost I don’t know of the genasi having issues with other genasi. Though I imagine certain elements looking down on others. I personally like the duality of being an air genasi but your pact being with a dao, which is earth genasi pro-generator. Also something to consider is dao is earth but i think you could make a reasonable argument to treat it as sand. That way you could have this almost desert like influence. Which I think could be cool and work together.
I think depending on how you write your backstory the idea that your air genasi could not turn to your own kind and made a deal with a dao is cool. It could be desperation to save your own life or it could be something like your the only person I could turn to so you have to swallow your pride to as for a pact is a very interesting avenue. You could even have it be the dao that reached out to you, for some earth genie purposes. There’s a lot of interesting ways to pursue here with keeping the elements separate. This also opens up your patron to not have to be malicious. They could be understanding or jokingly mock your air genasi ness in a fun kinda way, or they could love having you be their subject.
As far as flavoring abilities are concerned, I like the idea that your eldritch blast, should you choose to use it, could be a small tornado that picks up rocks and stones, or if you like the sand idea, sand drips from your hands as you prepare to cast spells. kinda like as you raise your hand to fire the cantrip, stones and rock gravitate in a spiral motion till you send the blast forward, or the whole cantrip looks like a sand storm.
I’d also imagine the bottled respite could be this cavern that is a part of this wind tunnel. With tornado’s or something standing every twirling in this cave. Something you could see through a window of some sort.
I think there are a bunch of cool concepts you can put together here. Plus you must have some direction for the kind of person your character is, helping to understand that first can help to put the character into perspective.
