Exellent Summation! Genasi are by far my favorite race to play as and I really loved seeing how they evolved and changed. There were also a set of Genasi you missed in 4th edition as the "Genasi of Athas" (I can't recall which issue of Dragon it was in): Embersoul: Gray skinned with black lineswith +1 Reflex and bonus to saves to ongoing fire damage, as well as an ability to burst out flames around them Magmasoul Black with red lines, +1 Fortitude, reduce incoming melee damage, and a heat aura around them Sandsoul: Tan skin with White lines, bonus to escapes and to resist being moved, and their ability to turn themselves into sand and move through any opening Sunsoul: Golden skinned with white lines, bonus to saves against radiant and fire damage, and a big burst of radiant damage around them as an encounter power.
We are excited to announce our upcoming Kickstarter focused on tools, kits, & supplies in D&D 5e! www.kickstarter.com/projects/dumpstat/toolcraft-making-tools-useful-for-5e
I try not to use too much of Pathfinders artwork but the only edition pulling its weight is 4e... 5e and 2e both only had their single pieces of art... sigh
Yeah I totally have my own homebrew genasi that can be there own race or a template to lay over another race. This way it can be a bit more than say an earth genasi that looks like a dwarf, it's both. We also use para-genasi. The lore however is like around 70% homebrew. In our world there fixing to be fighting to escape slavery which may start a civil war.
a lovely unique twist I love these races! but there is one thing...I don't know if anyone else does this but when I meet a new word i try out several pronunciations, with this word knowing that it was a fabricated race/word I felt free to explore and as it turns out I ended up settling on genasi pronounced JEH-nuh-sigh with the emphasis on the first syllable and the last syllable rhyming with "eye". I have since been disabused if this mispronunciation and I am painfully aware that the word's proper pronunciation is jeh-NAH-zee. and thus my query sparking dilemma What do you do if you like YOUR pronunciation better but you find the endless correction tedious and irksome??
Well - it's your table (and maybe even your setting), you pronounce it how you like it. Tim Kask (creator of the bulette) gets upset when people try to tell him that he pronounces it wrong (its pronounced boo-lay, not boo-let), but I don't know that I've ever seen any official pronunciation for genasi. It's just how I thought to pronounce it and how everyone around me pronounced it. ruclips.net/video/PMApWoJ2TUE/видео.html

Good catch! I see that they appear in Dragon #396 - so many genasi!
Thank you. I'm playing a Fire Genasi Forge Cleric for my new campaign and I wasn't sure how to play him.

Can you do deep dive episode for Devourers?
We'll add it to our list!
Really seeing the difference between their art in D&D and Pathfinder books in this one 😂

They are fun to play, especially in 2E Planescape!

I've also made Para- & Quasi-Genasi for my own games, Genasi are pretty awesome
