Thanks for the video. Great job! I just got rid of my old 20ft Yellowstone hardside and moved up to a 2003 Jayco Kiwi 23ft hybrid. For myself and the wife it's a decent size and we don't always have to open up the pop-outs if it's only the two of us. If we happen to have additional people with us, the pop-outs are super easy to set up. Also like the fact that it has a manual slide out on the left hand side. Weighing in at 3630 lbs, my 2004 Suburban has no issues towing it down the road.

We have a 2021 Rockwood Roo 233s that we bought in August 2020. We really like it and have taken it on 3 camping trips so far here in NH. My only complaint is on cold nights the tip out bunk ends build up a lot of condensation. I think this is a normal problem with tip out campers. We’ve found running the furnace and keeping the camper warm helps but it’s still and issue if you sleep in one of the three tip out beds. Otherwise we love the camper and recommend it.

Your reviews are really the best! Camera work is steady and well edited, you speak clearly, the sound work is nearly always first class and the reviews seem very objective. I especially like that you cover lots of smaller units. A lot of us older folks are driving smaller vehicles and the kids are living on their own. I like that you generally give the size and weight, if it's too heavy I can skip to the next section. Thanks.
I was looking at travel trailers and to get more space you have to haul alot of weight, and I like these units, They are lower weight so you don't have to tow as much and the room you get. I mean wow. We can't get over how much room you get. I can get a Ford Ranger to tow this if I want. I have been reading up on these and when you close the ends it's called Turtleing.

I'd love to see you review the differences between the Scamp, Oliver, Casita, and soon to come Barefoot trailers. Maybe a video on the advantages of having a cooktop inside vs. outside (or vice versa) and if it makes a difference to the type of camping one is doing (ie, no hookup camping vs RV camps with water/electric etc.)

Yes it could...but maybe the idea is you aren't standing in front of the door while accessing the cooler...Thanks for watching and for your comment! Mike
I will admit the FS was pretty good but we have the Roo 23IKSS which has a kitchen island. Not a big fan of fake fire place but I do like the position and size of the TV.

I have the Keystone Bullet 2190EX and love the layout. I do wish the bathroom was a tad bigger but instead we have a nice pantry area so there's that. And of course the mattresses are never good enough for most adults. I have a topper on it and still a killer. Other than that, best layout I've found.
So glad you're loving your Keystone Bullet. Unfortunately we know not everything will be perfect but sounds like those are small sacrifices. Thanks for watching our tour video and commenting Cynthia.

I love camping, I love this channel. Been through a couple of pop-ups and trailers before. One thing I would never like, even when I was younger, 8 people and 1 head (toilet)
Hi Tuvia, That ratio of people to toilets is something I never thought of but you make a really good point! Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike and Susan
I really enjoyed these travel trailers! My favorite as a starter would be #2 or #3 because of the price point. The last two were amazing and I would love to travel in those with my big family. Great video!
Loved them all!!! Just have one little perk about your videos. Sometimes when your talking your voice goes down low or Miss Susan isn’t close enough, maybe… can you get a wireless microphone. 👌 otherwise. Love watching your videos. 👍👍👍
Another beautiful video my favorite was #4 loved the layout!! Now I have to say you do look like Anthony Hopkins great Actor he was in the movie call... Legends of the Fall Thank's to you and Susan for Sharing!!
Hi Cheryl, We like hybrids too! So I've never been told I look like Anthony Hopkins - but I guess I'll take it. Usually I am told I look like Sean Connery or George Clooney. lol! Thanks for watching and for your kind words! Mike

I'm sorry, I don't think your Ford Escape has a tow capacity that can tow a small camper. You should check your owner's manual, but I believe your tow capacity might only be up to 2,000lbs. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. Please feel free to ask any questions.
I love hybrid TT. My problem afte 20 plus years of this model the industry hasn’t figured out a “LUFT ASSIT” for putting up the bunks. Wife hurt her back … I eventually hurt my shoulder … TT got sold.
You are so right!!! I (Susan) had a pop up camper when my kids were younger. It was a little too much for me as a single mom so I completely understand. Having a system to help with that would be awesome! Great suggestion. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
The Intech's Dometic refrigerator was in backwards -- check the website. The bat wing awning covers the whole outdoor kitchen area and there is a prep shelf that attaches at the front corner of the unit next to the kitchen.
Hi Robert, Thanks for the info! I believe the door swing can easily be changed so I don't think the fridge was installed backwards. Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike and Susan

Thanks for your videos. I'm binge watching! Trying to make my dream of basic traveling to see our families in other states and be able to stay in them while visiting. My husband is blind so seeing all the room inside is amazing and exciting. I'm looking for one that I can pull with my 2019 KIA Sorento S FWD. Budget is tight but can get a smaller one and still have room to move. Thanks and I subscribed and will enjoy searching more for the perfect one for us. Kelley

On the first trailer I think the stove is faced in that direction so you are not in the way of the door if people are going in & out. Idk. Just a thought.

I know nothing of rving, but im interested in starting. Why not just do a wet bath in the smaller rvs. I know its not ideal but seems like it would be a great space saver for more storage.
Wet baths are definitely better than no bathroom, that's for sure, and they do maximize space. We camped with a wet bath for 10 days and didn't really enjoy it. Having the floors, walls and toilet wet after a shower was kind of inconvenient. I know some people have tricks to speed the drying process. We have a Facebook group called RV Camping For Newbies that is great resource for folks that are learning. If you have Facebook you might want to check it out. I like your reviews however, I would appreciate if you show the access and space when the slide outs or pop out are stored. When travailing, there are many times that you stop somewhere and do not plan on expanding the pop outs or slide outs. Good to know what we are faced with when not in a campground.
Those are all great points and I wish we could show you what it looks like while closed. We shoot our video tours while attending RV shows and occasionally at dealerships. Unfortunately we do not have the opportunity to close slides or beds in RVs. That is a disadvantage we have over many other RV tour RUclipsrs that work at dealerships. We actually tell people if you see an RV you like from one of our brief tours, check out @MattsRVReviews who does a more in depth tour of one RV per video. It's an idea. I'm always curious when someone says they want to know how accessible the inside is when closed for stop over purposes. How often does that occur? Can you take a cooler? These types of thoughts. Maybe you can help me with those answers. I don't know if being unaccessible during travel would stop me from buying my "perfect" floor plan. Sorry we can't help but thank you for letting us know your thoughts and watching our videos!

Sorry to hear about your experience. Was there a leak that caused the delamination? Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
We enjoyed camping in our pop-up camper when the family was younger. Now we don't need all those beds. I do appreciate some of the new features in these, like the couch that flipped forward into an extra bed, and the little shelf above the bathroom sink. The small toy hauler is a little bare bones for me, but still a great unit for some. I can imagine a lot of deer hunters enjoying that set-up. I love that it is available in a small size instead of just the long big rigs you usually see when you talk about a toy hauler. Will you be having the chance to look at any drive-able units? Well, seeing as we are confined to our homes, it probably is a no! I really hope my husband and I can upgrade to a small RV in the future as we plan to tour the country more extensively.
Hi Amy, We are grounded for the time being but we hope to make some videos about drivable RVs in the summer. Uh, either the title of this video(5 Small Hybrid Camper Trailers with Bathrooms!) is wrong or you accidentally put a trailer you didn't mean to in the video because the first on has no bathroom.
02:51 When you are cooking, you don't want to be standing in the doorway. Maybe the cooler/fridge can be turned around. The inTech does not look to have a bathroom. My Wife is in a wheelchair and would be able to enter the camper on the ramp. This would be perfect if it had a large area for the restroom so my Wife would not need to use the rest areas. Do you have videos of wheelchair accessible campers? Thank you for the video.
Hi Dialysisforever, We haven't made a video and I haven't written an article for the website about wheelchair accessible RVs yet. We may do both in the fall so please be on the lookout for that. Thanks, Mike and Susan
I am also interested in wheelchair accessible trailers. Most of these look like my hubby could easily get around with a walker, tho,so our only problem would be actually getting in.Are there ramps made for these?

Hi defiantwil, It's right outside the door! lol! All have bathrooms but that one...we wanted to see who is paying attention. Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike and Susan
Hi Justin, It's not easy but I would buy insulated blankets like concrete finishers use and drape them over the outside of the pop outs. They can handle rain no problem. I would also use a heated mattress. We have also seen people tape up Double Bubble Reflective Foil Insulation inside their popup but it looks pretty junky that way. Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike and Susan
Maybe if we decided to downsize in the future. However, both Kris and I have said we will never pull a trailer again since we got the Class A. That said, always enjoy the quality and depth of your segments. Look forward to seeing your Toyhauler Class A reviews you mentioned you were planning. ~Bradley

@@deanngardner5578 Hi DeAnn, In serious bear country tent campers are not allowed or they have to keep their ice chests and all food in a food locker. Does that answer your question? Thanks! Mike

Nice review; thank you. Will say that I'm totally over all the wood accents that look like they should be residential. All I keep thinking is how much lighter it would be without those wood doors everywhere. Guess it just means I'm not looking at the right trailers for me.

It looks like you would have to be *very* careful in the shower around 9:40 even if they had glass doors. If you tried to bathe with any actual speed you could potentially break the doors... I wonder what size of adult they scaled to or if they were trying to make the floorplan work and we're just like "screw it. They're going to need to make some compromises here!"

I wish I had spent more time on how lift systems work on each brand of camper. We made the mistake of buying a Jayco 2012 pop-up. The lift system went out and couldn't be manually cranked down. We were told if we had a drill it could be done. Not so!!! Now Jayco is out of the pop-up market. Horrible mistake!!!

Maybe a video on the advantages of having a cooktop inside vs. outside (or vice versa) and if it makes a difference to the type of camping one is doing (ie, no hookup camping vs RV camps with water/electric etc.)

The ice chest is on backwards on the model you are looking at (Intech RV) - I'm sure it could flip around.
Yes it could...but maybe the idea is you aren't standing in front of the door while accessing the cooler...Thanks for watching and for your comment!

Safety?? So it is ok to be unsafe while getting into the frig. and not safe while using the stove?? Simple fix...secure the door.

GET READY! We are launching our new digital/video magazine called RV Camping Magazine on June 1st! Stay tuned for our RUclips Video all about it!

Hi Dialysisforever,

How would you keep the trailer insulated with the pop out sides?
Hi Justin,
It's not easy but I would buy insulated blankets like concrete finishers use and drape them over the outside of the pop outs. They can handle rain no problem.
I would also use a heated mattress.
We have also seen people tape up Double Bubble Reflective Foil Insulation inside their popup but it looks pretty junky that way.

Why is camping in a hybrid in bear country a problem? I want to purchase one but all my fav campgrounds are near Yosemite and Black bears!

Many RV Campgrounds in bear country do not allow soft sided campers because bears can smell the food in your fridge and break into your camper!
