Hi Everyone, We hope you enjoyed our video! Which camper under 4,000 lbs did you like? Please say hello by leaving a comment below! Also, please feel free to ask any questions or just tell us about yourselves. We want to get to know you and share our RV experiences.
I'm starting to wonder about these coach designers... without spending a fortune on a large rv 5th wheeler... I'm 6'5" so what are the options... I don't have a large rv budget nor want the inconveniences of bulk, more for outback detours... & brother have you Americans got a funny idea of "small"... cheers from NZ
I was just watching the newer tow with an suv video and clicked on this one because you added it there. I just wanted to say, wow... you have lost weight. Good for you. I'm not saying you looked bad before, but you do look healthier now. That's not easy to do as we age, and I just wanted to mention it because im sure it wasn't easy. 👏
Thank you so much for noticing. We have tried to stick to a healthier lifestyle this past year. Eating right and going the the gym. We feel much better but had to buy all new clothes 🤣 (definitely worth it!) We appreciate the shout out! 🤗

Mike, you and Susan do a great job of narration, describing features and camera work. I like that you are relaxed and have a calm soothing voice. No drama or overselling just the plain simple facts and meaningful observations. I look for your video's first. I'm single, have and SUV and towing limitations. I would like a murphy bed arrangement or better yet no bed at all, since I sleep in a recliner. Want a dry bath and no real requirements for dining area or kitchen. any suggestions appreciated. Thank you.

In the US, where "Debt is King", why have a 15' travel trailer when you can have a 25' for only a few hundred more per month. Then you have to upgrade your tow vehicle which then incurs more debt. At least that is the mindset of most in this country. There have been a few times where the "mainstream RV industry" have had good intentions to manufacture small "lightweight" models, but they don't sell too well. A good example was the Geo Pro/E Pro 14FK, a nice lightweight model with a wet bath, it never really took off. It has now gained a foot in length, and I think all of the optional features have become standard. Started off as roughly 2000 lbs. dry weight, now weighs over 2600 dry and getting heavier. You have to buy from a niche manufacture to buy a small lightweight travel trailer, which usually costs more but better quality (sometimes).

Love all the under-bed storage, shower curtains with the track above and below, and that additional counter space in the kitchen - hope that's a trend that continues as I like to cook!
Hello sdraper! I totally agree! As always - thank you for watching and commenting. We hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Mike and Susan
Thanks for your very good, quick reviews. I appreciate that you mention the height of the shower. That is an important measurement for us, and the rv websites do not provide that detail.
Yes! What a great floor plan and love the design! We have a video with 3 vintage/retro campers you might like to see. ruclips.net/video/2W046ik26mg/видео.html Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting!

I like the Vintage Cruise and the micro Mini Winnie for the extra room the bump-out gives, the availability of a sofa/bed, the larger refrigerators, the roomy showers and, for sure, the oven. We like to cook and an oven greatly increases the variety of dishes you can make (and takes over for the grill/fire when it's bad weather). Microwave is nice to have but usually only when you have a hook-up. The other units' bunk space would be better used in other ways, with just the two of us. Yes, these two units are worth consideration in my book.

I love these smaller campers... currently have a Jayco Jayflight 27 BH that was my Parents...it's great for the large family but I'm looking to downsize since the kiddoes are all out and starting their own families it's generally just me camping now...... keep the vids coming... I have such a limited selection here locally ( Idaho) it's looking like I may be tripping to the midwest to find what suites me... Thanks so much for your time and effort you put into these vidoes.
Thank you so much for the kind words! We have definitely toured many many small campers. We are from Maryland and purchased a motorhome that was in Florida. One piece of advice is hire an RV inspector, separate from dealership. We had to put a deposit on the RV first but we wanted to make sure it was worth buying and problems could be fixed. Best of luck in your research.
Love The Gulf Stream Vintage as a 60's child loves Turq already thinking some Boho theme to Victorian Rustic to add pinks.. 1AntiqueJunkie Memories of my Mom. 1st time seeing this one. Also love the Winnebago Micro. Both Adorable. 💙💗🦋🦋

Overall I enjoy your videos but one thing I noticed that you don't really talk about but is very important to myself and probably others is - how much elbow room is the bathroom, when sitting on the toilet. For me, that can make or break a trailer, but I noticed very few bloggers address it. Otherwise, great job, enjoyed the selections and thank you for sharing!

Thanks for all the great info! This really narrowed down what we were looking for in a trailer! We liked the Keystone and the Gulfstream. It was funny how you kept saying HDMI :) Thanks again!
It's the Winnie for me. 20 + feet' and dual axle. The Winnie folks just make a more substantial unit all the way around. The finish is better too. No dinette and a nice wardrobe closet in the bathroom. There was a hanging rod in it. Keep these great tours coming.
So glad our video was helpful. Winnebago does a great job with floor plan functionality and quality. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting

@@RVBlogger we are seriously looking to buy our first small trailer. I have right now narrowed it down to a Grand Design Imagine 17 or 20. Do you know anything about the integrity of them? So far from what I have seen they seem to get good ratings over all.
@@annemitteness7426 Hi Anne, From all the reviews we have done and also all the people we know who own Grand Designs we think you are making a good decision. There will be things wrong with your camper (haven't seen a perfect camper yet) so inspect it thoroughly BEFORE you take possession from the dealer and make them fix whatever you find BEFORE you drive away with it. Overall Grand Designs build good products. Let us know how you make out! Mike
Very informative video. The negative of the floorplans in some, is the bed being right next to the door. I won't get one like that. It makes me feel like I have no privacy when a guest knocks at the door. (And a little vulnerable, too). I also hate having to take my boots and coat off just inches from my bed. It's messy. and it is a dealbreaker for me. Thank you for reminding me!
You are very welcome. All great points. Thanks for mentioning. Glad we could refresh your memory!🤣 Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!
One thing that's very important and I'd like to see you cover is the size of the bed. Specifically, I'd like to see you differentiate between RV queen beds (60 x 74) vs residential size (60 x 80). I'm 6' 2" and I will only buy a trailer that has a residential size queen bed. My 19' Freedom Express 192RBS has a 60 x 80 residential size queen bed, so they are available in smaller trailers. While some manufacturers give the actual dimensions of the bed, some don't. That's why I always take a tape measure with me when looking RVs.
Hi AlaskaErik, We could definitely do a better job covering the size of the beds. Thanks for the suggestion and we will include that info in future videos! Thanks for watching and commenting! Just discovered you guys on the t.v. using RUclips. Enjoying the reviews of small trailers with bathrooms. Wondered about some of the technical aspects of the units. Propane, solar, cabinet closures, convection ovens etc. I know your reviews are ment to be brief overviews just thought I would let you know . Nervous about choosing a trailer due to the "backing-up" aspect. But the prices are so much better than class B units.
Hi Barbara, Glad you found us!!!! We do just provide brief overviews. You can add the technical stuff to almost any RV. Backing up really isn't that hard but it takes practice. Hi Mike & Susan, I'm new to RVing & am definitely subscribed. I appreciate your channel and am learning a lot. Thank you for sharing so much valuable information. I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I liked the Winnie Micro Minnie 2106FBS the best. The appliance coordination with the inline kitchen/sofa details make the decor sharp and I’d also downsize to a full-size Murphy or light-weight Day/Captain’s Bed adding a space for my two cats to have privacy for eating & using their litter pans (they are inside cats - so I also would design a travel safe cat-Terri’s/Cat Tree for them to use while we travel and park (they are older and micro-chipped). I might also consider swapping in/out a cassette chemical toilet to avoid the black hose /cleaning issue as well - I’m fine for cleaning cat pans and emptying the toilet cassette lol, but the thought of mishandling the black hose connectors - hmmm- not so much lol. Really enjoyed the comparisons - Great reviews - thank you!

I’d love to see more designs for adults vs couples. Real bunks for adults in a trailer with no slide. Mini kitchen as we eat out or cook minimal meals. Twin beds vs Queen fixed. Even a wet bath as we are handicapped and don’t need the step up tubs!

@@RVBlogger thank you for that! I am a solo camper with really bad knees. Unlike Jacki, I plan to cook most of my meals and I prefer a queen bed and do like the tub as it keeps water from getting in the bathroom floor. I also really hate shallow enamel kitchen sinks, and want a separate fridge/freezer so I can store frozen foods. We all have different needs, even those of us who are handicapped.

Hi Texas Twister! Great to hear! Let us know how you like it once you get it and start camping in it! Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike and Susan
One request: when you show the shower, you make a point of showing the height for tall campers! Yet you ignore height when you talk about the bed. A queen size bed is 60 x 80. Some units are so equipped. But many have a short queen which is 6” shorter yet you still call it a queen size bed instead of a short queen. I am 6 feet tall and would not buy a camper with a short queen. I spend much more time in the bed than I do in the shower. Keep up the fine videos!

They're all look great to me within my budget. However, what about the built quality of it all? That's what I concern the most. What do you think of Lance travel trailer like the 1575, 1685 etc. Lance seems to be a bit more expensive.
Hey NLD We don't have any long term experience with these campers so we can't comment on our opinion on overall build quality. :) Thanks for watching and commenting! ❤ Mike and Susan
MIke - very happy I discovered (and subscribed!) to your channel. You and your wife do a great job covering a wide variety of travel trailers. I'm 61, and my wife and I are looking to get our first ever travel trailer. I have really been drawer to the Escape trailer out of Chilliwack, Canada. I like the idea of the solid fiberglass trailer, especially due to potentially less leakage and higher resale values. I drive a 2001 Tundra, with a towing capacity of about 7000 lbs GVWR. We are not looking to live in one full time, but if we had to live in one for 3 months, we'd want to be comfortable. Best recommendation for an old man doing this for the first time? - Thanks!
Hi Stephen! I think you would be extremely comfy in the Escape 5. It is roomy and has a king size bed too! Best recommendation is learn all you can before you take off. If this is your very first trailer ever we highly recommend you rent an RV BEFORE you buy one. @rvblogger Do you know if Gulf Stream would delete the bunks in favor a little entertainment area with a chair and TV? Would be a much better use of space in my opinion.
They might have a floor plan with those features, they have tons of RV models. Here's a link to their website, you could be there awhile 😂 www.gulfstreamcoach.com/ Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting!
Hi GDIBS, Great question...the max towing capacity on a Toyota Sienna is 3,500 lbs. We recommend you never tow more than 80% of the max capacity so you would max out at 2,800 lbs GVWR. GVWR is the weight of the trailer PLUS all of your gear, groceries, clothes, and supplies you load into the trailer. So, you should look for a trailer that is no more than 2,000 lbs. We made a video about campers under 2000 lbs which you can find at ruclips.net/video/fHWH3aO9R44/видео.html I also wrote an article about campers under 2,000 lbs at rvblogger.com/blog/best-small-campers-under-2000-lbs-with-bathrooms/ Hope that helps!
My favorite one is the Winnebago Micro Minnie...the last one!!

It's the Winnie for me. 20 + feet' and dual axle. The Winnie folks just make a more substantial unit all the way around. The finish is better too. No dinette and a nice wardrobe closet in the bathroom. There was a hanging rod in it. Keep these great tours coming.

@@RVBlogger we are seriously looking to buy our first small trailer. I have right now narrowed it down to a Grand Design Imagine 17 or 20. Do you know anything about the integrity of them? So far from what I have seen they seem to get good ratings over all.
@@annemitteness7426 Hi Anne,
From all the reviews we have done and also all the people we know who own Grand Designs we think you are making a good decision. There will be things wrong with your camper (haven't seen a perfect camper yet) so inspect it thoroughly BEFORE you take possession from the dealer and make them fix whatever you find BEFORE you drive away with it. Overall Grand Designs build good products. Let us know how you make out!

Hi AlaskaErik,
We could definitely do a better job covering the size of the beds. Thanks for the suggestion and we will include that info in future videos!

Hi Barbara,

Murphy bed would be great for this unit.
Maybe so!

You might even be able to find an Escape you can rent on Outdoorsy.com

It's the InTech Sol Horizon. Great choices!!

I liked the Jayco Jay Flight SLX`74BH ....BUT... i noticed that above the stove was the micro with no vent hood. I think all the heat from the stove is going to cause an issue there. I loved the last three models that had the slide out. We are going to be purchasing our first travel trailer and getting tons of great info from your videos, Thank You !!
Thank you so much Jordi! Definitely important to reduce moisture in a camper! Best of luck RV shopping. We are happy to help.
Favorite one is the biggest one of course 😂😂😂

Thanks👍
Hi Eric,
No problem 👍

@rvblogger Do you know if Gulf Stream would delete the bunks in favor a little entertainment area with a chair and TV? Would be a much better use of space in my opinion.
They might have a floor plan with those features, they have tons of RV models. Here's a link to their website, you could be there awhile 😂 www.gulfstreamcoach.com/ Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting!
Is there any sugestion on which type of trailer could be used with a toyota Sienna, or other minivans?
Hi GDIBS,
Great question...the max towing capacity on a Toyota Sienna is 3,500 lbs.
We made a video about campers under 2000 lbs which you can find at ruclips.net/video/fHWH3aO9R44/видео.html
I also wrote an article about campers under 2,000 lbs at rvblogger.com/blog/best-small-campers-under-2000-lbs-with-bathrooms/
Hope that helps!

Okay these look great! Looking for one with a rear ramp so I can also put my motorcycle in the back?!?
Sounds like you need a toy hauler. We have reviewed a few of those too. Thanks for watching and commenting. ruclips.net/video/_M6xYVbI7Lo/видео.html
Very nice review. These are in our size (22ft ish) / weight (3k lbs) range. Wasnt aware of some of these brand / floor plans. Appreciate the info.

What would you recommend for a 4-season camper for 5 people, a service dog, and 3 cats ?
That would depend on the size of the travel trailer and how far you might be willing to travel to find one. Here's a link to one of our blog articles about great 4 season travel trailers that might help rvblogger.com/blog/4-season-travel-trailer-brands/ Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting.

You should check out the various trailers from Taylor Coach (family owned business in Canada). They are extremely light and very well made (I have the 12' Bobbie model).
Hi Jonathan,
I have never seen one. I don't think they come to the RV shows here in the states and I've never seen one at a dealership. Maybe when the border re-opens and we visit Canada we can review one.
Thanks for watching and commenting and for the suggestion!

Thanx for the super informative video. Now, remember it is USB, not HDMI! =D (j/k) I love the Forrest River 172RB, huge bathroom!
Hi Chuck,
I mix up USB and DDMI all the time! Ugh!!! It's like calling my kids the wrong names! lol!
