    The Nucamp T@b I think is actually my favorite. I think they made the most of all the space and it still includes everything with a nice modern spacious feel. Thank you for doing this! It’s awesome to be able to shop by weight since that’s what a lot of people have to do when they already have a vehicle and then need to add a camper. Thanks so much for making this video!👍🏼

    Last year my wife & I bought a Sonic 149VL. It's a great little trailer 14' 9" and weighs 2960 lbs. I'm 6'6" & 270lbs and I fit in it nicely. The kitchen is in the rear by the door, the queen bed is up front, it has a small leaf dining table and full size toilet with separate shower (no sink). We love it. Thanks for the video, Great job!!!

    Regarding the first trailer’s stove positioning- totally makes sense because before you talked about it, we were saying how awkward it was that the door swings against the stove. But since the stove is on the other side, that leaves the door area free to go in and out. 🙌👍

    • @RVBlogger
      @RVBlogger  3 года назад

      Hi Shaun,
      It does make sense - it just seemed weird to me for some reason. Probably because the cooler opened one way and the stove opened the other...

      I was thinking the same thing but turn the fridge around so they are on the same side. Also, if you have guests over under the awning you won't have your back to them while you're cooking.

    This is an awesome review! We just bought the Coleman Latern LT 17B, identical floorplan to the Coachmen Clipper 17BH. It has a big shelf over the queen bed, an electric fireplace below the sink, the mircrowave is relocated over a slightly smaller fridge, and a window at the bottom bunk rather than the door. These little 17 bunkhouse trailers are amazing for a family with smaller kiddos!! I really appreciate your down to earth review of reasonable trailers that most of us common folk can actually afford and tow!

    Nice review video. The NuCamp Tab 400 Solo is my favorite of these. I currently have the Forest River No Boundaries 16.5. Dry weight just under 3000, 20 ft long. It has a great u-shaped dinette at the front, surrounded by 3 very large windows, ideal for me because I always want to look outside at the view. The queen bed in the back also has 3 windows. It is very rugged built, great for boondocking.

    Nice roundup. I grew up with soft top trailers and Im not fond of the fold out beds on the hybrids. We have the older version of the Coachmen Clipper 17BH, a Coachman Northern Spirit17RD 3450 lb dry ( very similar to the Catalina). Its perfect for the 2 of us and tows pretty decently behind my Honda Ridgeline with a WDH and Brake Controller. Anyone looking at small trailers, please try to keep your weight well below your vehicle limits. By you time you add water and basics of life, you can push the envelope pretty quickly. Remember Dry Weight means not a spoon, towel or piece of T.P !!!

    I love the Nu Camp RVs, we just don't have any dealerships down here where I live.The designs are just so cool, with the window when you lay on the bed, nice ambulance feature and huge windows I love that it makes it so nice...And I don't mind the wet shower, live that little window in bathroom you forgot to show us, I could barely see, but usually they have like little vent type window..! Thanks..I didn't like any of the others..really in love with Nu Camp.

    The wife and I have an order in on a Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pup 16FQBL; which fits this category of travel trailer. There's only the two of us and we're height challenged. But, this trailer has almost everything one would need: full back bathroom, dinette, 2-burner stove, 10cf 12v 2-door refrigerator/freezer, deep stainless steel sink, A/C, heater, (murphy) queen bed w/sofa, good storage, outside shower, outside refrigerator, electric awning, etc. So excited about our first trailer.

    Can't believe the prices on most of these. As you can get much more and cheaper. I do realize some would like for smaller SUV'S etc. That's where I am as I find out my Honda CRV AWD has NO Towing Capacity. So now looking at ones with truck like I grew up with Grandparents camping & fishing with. These and some Van's are really awesome. I also see your link here to ck out and rent 1st to exactly what I want to do. Thanks again for great content.

    I don't know if you ever got an answer to why the stove on the Flyer Explorer opens that way, but it's because they make a model with 2 pop-outs, so the second pop-out would prevent you from standing on that side of the stove.

      Great observation, I also considered perhaps its angles that way so you can "face" the party, instead of the cook having to have their back turned, and because the breeze will have an easier time carrying fumes away from the trailer on the side. Your likely correct though!

    We're shopping around and starting to research; I have to say I'd rather ditch the bathrooms since we're intending to use them mostly in campgrounds/public land where you at least have pit toilets available.
    I *would* like to know how they heat though; I like winter camping. Going out and hiking or snowshoeing on a cold day is awesome...but a cold unheated tent overnight is less so!
    Also trying to find small ones that can sleep two adults and two kids is harder than I expected. I don't want to haul a 24' trailer! Or pay for one.

    • @RVBlogger
      @RVBlogger  3 года назад +1

      Hi Paul,
      Everyone is different. Susan and I were just chatting the other night and we were saying we would never buy an RV without a bathroom. But we also know plenty of folks who stay at campgrounds with bathrooms and don't need or want a bathroom in their RV. Luckily - there are plenty of RVs to choose from.

    Concerning the inTech Flyer Explorer, the reason the stove top opens the way it does, is so someone coming out the door will not hit someone cooking on the stove.

    In the tiny showers, one would need to soap up with the water off. Then, very carefully, one would need to rinse off. This would be more inconvenient if the air temperature were cold. But it's probably better than trying to wash up at a sink & wash hair in the sink... Hard to say without a direct comparison.

    • @RVBlogger
      @RVBlogger  3 года назад

      Hi KHM,
      The small showers are tough. We have a small shower and we get wet then turn the water off. Then we lather up and then we turn the water back on and rinse. It conserves water and keeps me from getting water all over the place - although Susan would disagree - she says I get water everywhere!
      lol!

    Just a few comments if off roading
    1) does the unit have solar or solar prep
    2) if so what is the wattage & battery bank capacity
    3)how many gallons of fresh water. Not worried about black - go poop 💩 by a tree
    4) if no solar does the unit have deep cycle batteries & how many amp hours
    5) u mentioned off road tires, but is it lifted & what are the clearances
    6) was the fridges propane, electric or both
    7) 30 amps for all?
    8) did the toy haulers have separate onboard tanks for gas
    9) what was cargo capacity for toy haulers

      Hi BB,
      Those are all fantastic items to research if you are looking for an off-road travel trailer. Thanks for sharing so other viewers know what to look for.
      We don't get into all that detail in the video because the video would end up being way too long and people will get bored. We just provide a brief overview and then folks can do further research on their own if they see something they like.
      Thanks very much for watching and for your comment!

    I am a fan of the R Pods. I've looked a lot (online) and always come back those. The 180 is my favorite floor plan. So, I like this R-Pod also. The NuCampT@Bs are great, but expensive for the size class.

      @RVBlogger  4 года назад +1

      Hi Connie,
      Lot's of folks really like the R-Pods and NuCamps.
      We always recommend buying used so you can save some money. The first 3 years will be the most amount of depreciation so your best deal will be to buy something a few years old.
      And if you want to buy new - be prepared to negotiate.

    You do a great job on all your videos! That last one seemed like you could stand up comfortably in the shower! It seems like they should be more observant on how high the showers are! I am 6 feet tall ! Years ago I had a 35 ft RV even that had a bathroom I was not happy with as for as shower hight:(

      @RVBlogger  4 года назад +1

      Hi thetiler,
      Thanks for the kind words! We appreciate you watching our videos and your comments too!
      Shower height makes all the difference. RV showers are already small to begin with and if they aren't tall enough it just makes the whole shower no good.
      Thanks again and keep in touch!
      Safe travels,
      Mike and Susan

      Shower height can certainly be an issue! We did try to design our bathroom to allow for the shower to accommodate taller campers.

      nuCamp, you need to build a version without the bathroom. We need an offroad-capable four-sleeper with a kitchenette. The bathroom makes them too big for offroading.

    Hello RV Blogger! Fine job on the video with information to think about. However not enough prices to go along with them. Also the prices on a couple I know of are on the high side. I’ve had a sweat little Travel Trailer that’s just over the weight limit at 3,800 lbs. but has two features that none of those in your videos have and that’s a full RV sized walk around queen bed and dry bath with more room than either of those reviewed! Not to mention for less money than most, a lot less than a few. We have a Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pup 16FQ, that’s 21.5’ overall an full width without any slide-out. In the 3.8 years we’ve owned it we have had only a few minor issues, one covered under warranty, a bad battery. Then we needed to replace a couple worn out items I will be more gentle with, the prop rod that’s used to push the side window next to the bed open an stay open or pull in tight and lock closed, had its hinge break, the shower curtain has self destructed, plus the ground wire from the axle to the chassis that’s used to ground the electric brakes rusted away. That’s was all! In all that time I’ll estimate that the total mileage is over 30,000 miles, accumulated over weekends and month long trips with an epic 4 moth trip after we both retired and a new home was being built in Central Florida! In the last two years! Before that we lived in Massachusetts and had explored all up an down the east coast from far home in mass to as far north Bar Harbor ME and as far south as Key West FL more than twice, with two side trips to The Smokey Mountains in Gatlinburg, The Dragon and Blue Ridge Parkways! With dozens of points in between. On the 4 month trip we covered ground from Corpus Christi Texas and Texas Gulf Coast, to Waco area camping on Lake Waco. Stopping at numerous museums and local brew pubs along the way. All with a Chevy Colorado Z71,4x4, V6 Ext Cab! With ease an comfort to really explore!

    Thanks for the great video! I just bought the Clipper 17bh, I pick it up in two days. Glad to hear your evaluation of it. Our only concern is the little door too! I bought a battery operated window alarm at harbor freight for it because of my 9 year old. I'm hoping to stay a step ahead of him!

    For the first one, I don't think the cooking stove is backwards. The cooler next to it is. The door opens out right into that area and it makes sense for the stove to face the way it is.
