Everything is eye popping now $$$. I think it'll cost slightly less in the United States. The Dodge Promaster is Fiat. But for that money I'd buy a new truck and a truck camper.
This Wingamm Oasi 540 has so many great ideas built into it. I really liked the trashcan on the door and the pull down full-sized bed. 12v A/C also very nice. The one-piece fiberglass molded shell should really help with preventing leaks. $145,000 is a little steep for me though.
And FIAT is owned by Chrysler that lobbies Congress to have this camper imported but Japan is not allowed to import their mini campers that cost $23K USD for same comparable model!!!
They tried this a few years ago, it was called the Chinook. They're actually still around and the one piece fiberglass rear hold up great, I'm actually looking for one.
Where the storage is next to the restroom could’ve been a stacked washer/dryer set, or one storage the other a combo washer/dryer, THEN it might be worth it

This is a nice introduction to the Us Market and will do extremely well im sure. I know Hymer tried to get into the US market with Roadtrek i believe but for some reason it did not take off. All these Motorhome companies are now finally realising that the Sprinter van market for vans is booming and they are all trying to bring out their own versions. So nice to FINALLY see some of these Ducato-based B+ RVs start to hit U.S. shores. If you want a B+ in North America, you have almost no choices that are not at least 24 feet long or longer. Plus, while these are wider than a van, they were still a good 4-6 inches more narrow than most domestic B+ models and small Cs like the Navions. That reduction in width combined with the shorter lengths of these Wingamms (the longest of which is only just over 22 feet and they have to other models right at 20 feet) means you still get almost all the maneuverability and parkability of a Class B with most of the amenities of a small C. Plus, I *want* a cassette toilet and a ceiling mounted bed. It's not just Europe, but Australia and New Zealand as well where most motorhomes are more like this than what we have here. I also love that they have kept the European design of actually having real passenger seats with three-point harness belts, something that is legally mandatory in Europe but not here. Step up the lithium/alternator game and give me a larger fridge and I could even see getting one of these 17-footers honestly.
great marketing size! could fit in your driveway! Many of us have to park on the street where it is subject to ticketing or pay for RV storage. This solves that issue very elegantly.
When these were announced I found the manufacture in Italy and these things were $60-65,000. Now that was about a year ago and this guy was going to sell them for $120,000 direct to consumer. I can tell you that a Promaster cutaway, short wheelbase chassis, sells for less than $30,000 or less to converter. Quite a nice profit....
A bunch of that is paying a tariff to allow them to sell it here. That’s why so many other countries can’t get get their items into the states. The USA says we are capitalists, but they run up the cost for some items from overseas, thus people continue to buy the crap RV’s US companies put out. I love the European feel, that’s why Leisure Travel Vans are my favorite North American maker, and they are Canadians.
They price is insane. Of course there is the 25% US import tariff on trucks, but still. You'll find something like this for half the cost - or less in Europe. The Fiat Ducato is actually quite a bit more modern than it's US counterpart, and it's available with modern, efficient diesel engines too. I feel there is a severe lack of competition among US RV manufacturers which allows them to bank enormous profit margins compared with European manufacturers.
My cousin bought one in England for $62k but for $140K in San Francisco, it's not worth it. Sadly, American made junks are also not worth it. Americans have no ingenuity when it comes to class B RV's
Hey man, if you write something like this means that you don't have a clue of the Wingamm's prices. I have one and I am from Italy. These are rare vehicles!
It's about time some of the European designs are available in the US. It's like the 70s were US automobiles were large an clunky. I do like the functional interior and the ability to sleep 4 in a small space.
John i hope they don't screw it up once the US version arrives. You know the dark fake wood and ugly curtains. Already hate gas stove in US version. Who want's open flames in a small plastic rv smh.
I totally agree. There are countless manufacturers in Europe, and some like Knaus have really efficient, and modern manufacturing plants. Plus, if you ever checked on pricing, comparable Camper Vans (class B or like they say in Europe CUV) cost about half (!) of what US manufacturers ask. By the way, the quoted prices for European Campers always include the high (16-24% depending on country) sales tax.
MSRP + 10 to 20 % at least, seasonal adjustments. New lingo “seasonal adjustment”, saw that on a 4WD a couple months ago. More like seasonal ripoff charge!
Thanks for the nice review on the Oasi 540! Just a couple thoughts to consider, that I've discovered along the way... On the MSRP of $145K, there's also a $5K shipping charge to bring the unit from Italy to the US. Also, there appears to be no generator - which allows for those nice storage compartments. That said, the AC/Heater will probably use some considerable amps. To use those would probably require hookups at a campground. I'd be interested to find out more about their lithium option, both the cost and the additional amp/hours it would provide. My guess is that it would struggle to run the AC/heater unit while boondocking for an extended period of time. Unless it had the auto-start feature similar to the Hymer. Other than that, I want one!!
@@taurusview9 Wingamm just sent over more info on the lithium. There would be two 120ah Lion batteries, replacing the standard 95ah AGMs. The cost for the two lithium batteries would be about $6,800. Also they mentioned that the storage bay is big enough to hold a small generator - so that's another thing to consider.
@rikdeere: You are correct. Typically, European air conditioning units typically cannot be operated on battery power. Certainly not for more than a couple of hours. Even though in the video he says that the air conditioning runs on 12v DC, if it is a Dometic or Truma unit, that means it can only be used whilst in transit in DC mode. However, there is an Italian manufacturer who have developed a 12v DC unit so it really does depend on what has been fitted to the motorhome.
Battle Born lithium batteries with solar would take care of most of your needs. Generators are obnoxious. Nothing like being in a quiet, peaceful place with a loud generator chugging away.
These Wingamm RV's are so great. I can't wait to see some of their other 20', 22' and 24' models come to the U.S. and to see what the usual manufacturers make to compete.
I loved this model when it first came out in Italy. Glad it’s making its way to the US. The features are very nice for the small size RV. The price is high…. I really want one. Thank you for sharing & your presentation was on point.
Amazing little RV with well thought out layout. Sadly that price range is ridiculous high & makes other RV’a in the same price range seem more viable. A shame they couldn’t bring the price down.
I love the compactness and space efficiency. I hope it will make it here in the US soon. Being a Pro Master chassis is a plus because more dealer can work on it and probably cheaper to maintain than a Sprinter. I am ready and will buy it when it is here.
Sprinter are very low maintenance. Brakes, oil, tires are routine maintenance for all vehicles and can be done by any mechanic, even by someone who has very limited mechanical skills. If people knew how easy it is to change brake pads, and even disc, they would do it themselves. It takes me less time to change the brake pads than drive to my mechanic shop and come back home. He is 4 miles away.
Even though I’m not a big fan of Euro styling, I do like this little camper! The bathroom is relatively large compared to the overall size of the rig! I love the ceiling hide-away bed (it makes a great selling point too)! I also love that at 17’9”, it’ll fit in all parking spots w/o any overlapping! Great walk-thru Joe…great camera work Kait! Cheers as always to you guys 🥂🤗🤗
That's the best camper of it's size that I've ever seen!!!!! I wish I could afford it. Now days EVERYTHING costs soooo much!!!! When I bought a ,off the showroom floor,1973 Chevrolet Malibu for $4800.00!!!!!! That's why the camper sounds so expensive!! The price is right for the times!!!! Really love it!!!
Pricy, anything but stealth - but also one of the most clever, space efficient designs I've seen. Nice modern feel. Drop down bed. Like the concept of anticipated storage for additional cassette. Truma, 12v A/C, many good features.
in addition to the intelligent design, the most important thing that unfortunately raises the price is the monocoque. It means that it was made in a single mold, there are no joints. So there can be no water infiltrations and drafts of air, it will never rot because it has no wooden parts. It will be easier to maintain a constant temperature. No glues were used and there is an air gap. I know of no other motorhomes built in monocoque. This is what makes this vehicle special. However in the US they made a much higher price than in Europe, if I'm not mistaken in Europe it costs about 80k
Excellent tour! Europe has so many of these small RVs, which are perfect for my needs, and it always frustrated me how the US lacked this type RV. I've salivated over the Hymer 314 forever! But with the advent of electric, I'm going to wait for electric 17' RVs.
I'm pretty sold on the Oasi 610. I would just like to see some driving, some parking. How easy or not is to park in between other vehicles and backing up,how it takes corners and what not.
I've seen these in the UK and I have also seen all the other European makes and models, and owned more than I can remember. The Wingamm so far as I can tell is head and shoulders above all the others in terms of build quality. I have also seen US made RVs, and if you are used to those, you will be bowled over by the quality of the Wingamm. Not mentioned in the commentary were the door hinges which are aircraft quality.
@@JoshalynnLove Believe me you wouldn't want to be the poor chap who has been lumbered with one particular French one that I dumped back on the dealer following legal procedings.
Thanks for the feedback. Warranty I can certainly add going forward but unless we've driven the vehicle, there's no way to include MPG. RVs are built on a commercial chassis so there is no requirement to publish MPG numbers - plus, as we've found, each RV is different, even if it is built on the same chassis as a different RV we've driven.
It’s on the wrong platform, I would pick Ford over Ram! I’m also interested in knowing what the ground clearance is underneath? Is there a locker for the rear or four-wheel-drive?
the US version Osai 540 rides on a Dodge Promaster chassis with 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that pairs with either a manual or dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
@@littlesthobo182 😄 That is true! I don't anyway because I have a room with a door I can close. Easier to close a door than make a bed everyday. Besides it is just me and I am not trying to impress myself. 😄
Well designed and practical, love it, but it's spendy -- you could pay one of the companies that convert vans and box trucks for half that and get all the bells and whistles.
Ive watched lots of videos about this vehicle. And I just love it. Id even learn to drive to have this if I had the money.. I just love the bed and that bathroom!
Have been following this unit for a while, had subscribed to their website and was hoping that it would be available in Canada.......do not care about the cost, this is a GREAT unit and would be usable as a Daily Driver and then.......the tour!
In fact 145t bugs are too much. Especially when you check which problems are coming with this technic. The area where the fibre glass body touch the steel body from the Fiat Ducato cracks occur and the body shell from Fiat starts corroding. Really beatyful camper but with a big problem.
@@jbs68 I agree. A little evidence to back up what he's putting out there, would make his case. At this point, he has none. Guess he crawled back under his rock...
That was a great review of this van. I have a panel van conversion but love this motorhome, it would be perfect for us. Sadly the price rules it out at the moment! Auto sleeper in the UK used to build great motorhomes with the monocoque body but they went out of production around 2012, I think probably due to the production costs. Thanks for sharing.
I like this a lot! For solo travelers though I'd love to see an option where the seating for 4 was yanked out and replaced with a single stand alone recliner chair. Also, would like to see an EV model at some point in the future when range and charging infrastructure is better.
I normally don’t like any fiberglass etc add on body expansions on class Bs. I want a full metal auto body, but in this case, I do really like the design. That being said, I’d just make it the standard Van length of 19-21’ and use that extra internal space for storage of bikes etc and make bathroom bigger and still fit in most parking spots. They don’t have to change the main features and design to to do that. Also, as much as I appreciate the innovation and features like the drop down bed, there is no way it’s worth twice what I paid for my brand new Thor Sequence. And without a REAL lithium system like Volta etc, I don’t see how they can justify $145k for a single AGM battery and 2WD. For that small a rig and that high a cost it should be full lithium system and 4WD or at least AWD. Fiat and Ram really need to get with the times and get on board with MB and Ford. People want lithium adventure vans.
I agree that US buyers in this price range want more lithium and less propane. They also don't expect it built on a 2WD Promaster. I disagree with you on the length though. I think a shorter but wider and spacious luxury vehicle could do well.
Great idea for a small class b, price is a little high, but not to far off from full set up class b vans. But I’m sure US manufactures have taken note and soon one will come out from one of them, maybe even for a little less money.
Overall, I like this unit quite a bit. Nicely thought out layout. Like the rounded cabinet doors in the back. However, the killer feature for me is the table! I love that thing! More than any other thing in the camper, I want that table! With the updated 2023 Promaster arriving with the new front end and newly available H3 taller roof height, these vans are moving to the next level for RV accommodations. This is a great design! It’s a bit pricy, but I see a good fit for the couples/small family crowd with this unit. It’s a really practical and useful size.
I loved that Rv. Wish it had a bigger lithium bank. Other than that it’s nice. My wife hated it 😂. I could live in it solo 🤔😂😂. Looks well built and lots of storage too. Be nice on a transit AWD too.
Another great review, Joe and Kait. Question: where would you keep the "extra pad" to convert the sofa into a bed? And where is it in the tour? Evidently, Wingamm didn't supply one, as I haven't seen it in any of the three other reviews of this RV either. Also, the driver's side external storage can be accessed inside via a door under the bed (just behind driver's seat).
Hey Craig. We actually had it but decided not to use it in the video. I'd put it in that hanging closet or even in the bathroom if you were going to be using it on a regular basis. If you didn't need it, then just leave it behind.
Don’t fool yourself thinking this as a van for four. It’s a van for two with emergency bed for two guests. 95% of time the extra cushion will stored out of the van. If you need space for four, look for something else
This has a lot of great features, and I love that they’re bringing something new to the US market! I love the cassette toilette and drop-down bed with the huge skylights. Although, I would prefer the Ford AWD platform, and the fridge would be way to small for me personally (and maybe a lot of the American market?). Also, I wonder why the kitchen counter drops down on the right side? Seems like it would be a lot more useful if it were all level (at the higher height). Great option though! Looking forward to hearing about people’s experiences with it in the future.

My guess is that it would struggle to run the AC/heater unit while boondocking for an extended period of time. Unless it had the auto-start feature similar to the Hymer. Other than that, I want one!!
Wingamm says two lithium batteries optional...usually that means 200 amp-hr...enough I think if AC is not running!
@@rikdeere THANK YOU!
Thanks!
Needs a bigget fridge freezer.
Nice to know you can add more cassettes for the toilet.
These Wingamm RV's are so great. I can't wait to see some of their other 20', 22' and 24' models come to the U.S. and to see what the usual manufacturers make to compete.
Love this RV. If I’m ever in the market for an RV this will be on top of my list
I loved this model when it first came out in Italy. Glad it’s making its way to the US. The features are very nice for the small size RV. The price is high…. I really want one. Thank you for sharing & your presentation was on point.
Yes! Don’t be scared, if you bring it, we will buy it, provided you don’t down grade the quality for the US market.
Bed in the ceiling! I have been suggesting that for years and now a few manufacture's are doing it! SMART!
Amazing little RV with well thought out layout. Sadly that price range is ridiculous high & makes other RV’a in the same price range seem more viable. A shame they couldn’t bring the price down.
Price will make it not sell in US. Dead on arrival
Infatti a quel prezzo solo un pazzo può comprarlo
Yup.. that price is crazy.. get it down to 90k and give me ring!
yeah, vans with more features can be had for less, so that price was definitely a non-starter.
They couldn’t bring price down. Greedy bastards.
I love the compactness and space efficiency. I hope it will make it here in the US soon. Being a Pro Master chassis is a plus because more dealer can work on it and probably cheaper to maintain than a Sprinter. I am ready and will buy it when it is here.
They said it will hopefully be here mid-summer this year
Sprinter are very low maintenance.
Thanks Rob! Going back to our bread and butter.
No room to store a picnic table and chairs! wtf? Why have an awning?
@@billanderson8602 really? this comment again?
I love this rig more than any I have ever seen
That's the best camper of it's size that I've ever seen!!!!! I wish I could afford it. Now days EVERYTHING costs soooo much!!!! When I bought a ,off the showroom floor,1973 Chevrolet Malibu for $4800.00!!!!!! That's why the camper sounds so expensive!! The price is right for the times!!!! Really love it!!!
Yeah prices have certainly changed in the last 50 years!
Pricy, anything but stealth - but also one of the most clever, space efficient designs I've seen. Nice modern feel. Drop down bed. Like the concept of anticipated storage for additional cassette. Truma, 12v A/C, many good features.
Which one is better in the same size ?
in addition to the intelligent design, the most important thing that unfortunately raises the price is the monocoque.
Many bad features too.. no room to store a picnic table and chairs. Imagine standing under the awning feeling foolish guys...
@@billanderson8602 really, again...? what do you mean? i see plenty of places for those items...
Love your walk arounds ! To the point and moves quick but you show it all ! Your knowledge of Rv's comes out in every video ! Love to watch !!!
Thank you Craig - so appreciate that
Excellent tour! Europe has so many of these small RVs, which are perfect for my needs, and it always frustrated me how the US lacked this type RV. I've salivated over the Hymer 314 forever! But with the advent of electric, I'm going to wait for electric 17' RVs.
I had an electric car for two years. Never again, I won't start saying why because in twelve hours I will need to get some sleep.
An electric RV is bonkers and unless you just want it to show off stay far away from them.
OMG! I want one. That would be perfect to go exploring our beautiful region here in Italy with! Starting to save now!
I have watched so many videos, read so many pamphlets. This is it. Wow. It’s expensive but it has so much. Cool.
Thanks for a calm, knowledgeable walk through.
You’re welcome Mary!
Absolutely beautiful! WOW! Exactly configured how I would want mine. Just amazingly perfect.
$145,000???? That’s insane
Considering it's under $100,000 in Europe it's total price gouging
Beyond insane…. 🤨
Good thing is, you don't have to buy it.
😖😬😖😳🥺 Yikes
Oh I don’t think so!
I'm pretty sold on the Oasi 610. I would just like to see some driving, some parking. How easy or not is to park in between other vehicles and backing up,how it takes corners and what not.
I have been waiting for this to come the US, love it.
Owned more than you can remember 😳 ? Wanna spare one for little ole me? Haha
@@JoshalynnLove Believe me you wouldn't want to be the poor chap who has been lumbered with one particular French one that I dumped back on the dealer following legal procedings.
Nicely done! I'd like to see it on the 4x4 Ford chassis to compete with the over priced Revel!
Oohh I agree!
145k? Holly cow thats crazy I will wait a few years to get a used one
Buy it in Europe, it cost 80.000$ here. Export would cost about $3000, I don't know why it cost 145.000$ in the US.
Well worth the price, especially compared to the crazy 😜 prices being asked for Class B vans ( $200,000 plus). Remember that price is MRSP.
@@MrItaliansound Yes , but how do you drive from Italy to the USA and still save ?
Really nice! Love the separate bathroom.
Well, here it is almost 2 years later and I've yet to see this offered in the US.
That's seriously a great family van. Still can't justify spending that much on a depreciating asset
I think you'd have to have a physically teeny tiny family to be comfortable in there. Lol Two people max, I would think.
Great point
Looks way roomier inside than it does on outside. Amazing
This is by far the best usage of space I have seen. Been in the market for awhile I am sold on this
I have watched a couple of your videos, well done. I wish you would let us know things like MPG and warranty in your videos.
Europe and Japan have so many dream RVs. Small and well thought out.
It’s on the wrong platform, I would pick Ford over Ram! I’m also interested in knowing what the ground clearance is underneath? Is there a locker for the rear or four-wheel-drive?
Love the layout and amenities of this van. Way too expensive for us, but if we had the money we would definitely be preordering.
It is a very nice design. The price of class b's seem too high to me. I generally think everything costs too much. 🤔
Couldn’t agree more! Why so much for such a small RV? I get that the size is convenient, but this is ridiculous.
the US version Osai 540 rides on a Dodge Promaster chassis with 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that pairs with either a manual or dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
this is the best for city living with some adjustment, bigger water tank, big solar panels or even small generator would be perfect
Excellent design! I wish they would do the drop down bed on more RV’s.
Oh now I don't care for that at all. I'm just picturing it moving about and not feeling secure.
Could get away with never having to make your bed. That is a selling point for me.
@@shannoninalaska Want to know a secret? You never actually have to make your bed.
The fridge was too small and too low, which is a huge problem for people with joint pain, mostly seniors.
Ive watched lots of videos about this vehicle. And I just love it. Id even learn to drive to have this if I had the money.. I just love the bed and that bathroom!
Wow I want this camper for my 55th birthday 😊
Have been following this unit for a while, had subscribed to their website and was hoping that it would be available in Canada.......do not care about the cost, this is a GREAT unit and would be usable as a Daily Driver and then.......the tour!
Exactly my sentiments...I think I see one in my drive way soon...good luck with yours!
Fantastic design. For that price though they are competing with a lot of other well-designed RVs on the market.
In fact 145t bugs are too much. Especially when you check which problems are coming with this technic. The area where the fibre glass body touch the steel body from the Fiat Ducato cracks occur and the body shell from Fiat starts corroding. Really beatyful camper but with a big problem.
@@bernhardtsuballa5341 Hey Bernhard, curious... how do you know of those cracks and corrosion?
@@kellyname5733 great question, and still no answer
@@DK-bk1vq Must be an unfounded claim then...
4 years FulltimeRVer and NOTHING beats a permanent bed. No pull down, put together... I just want to lay down. Period!
Love to see a freezer&fridge combo, 2 burner rectangle and medium sink.
Did u say 14tk msrp. The selling price should be 70k same as Europe,
I like this a lot! For solo travelers though I'd love to see an option where the seating for 4 was yanked out and replaced with a single stand alone recliner chair. Also, would like to see an EV model at some point in the future when range and charging infrastructure is better.
Yep definitely need manufacturers to start thinking about the solo travelers.
Do-it-yourself 😇
You had me until you mentioned the price! $145K (starting) is outrageous.
I really like this one. Only problem is the small fridge.
Perfect....Simplemente hermoso OASI 540. Great Video, Thanks!
Nice review but way to expensive! Can’t wait for you two to get on the road again and share some new adventures.
Agreed. Few people would have that kind of money.
Sequence MSRP starts at like $120K. Not that different
agree, too overpriced !!!
It's neat and very cute. It is not worth $150.000 for such a small camper.
I would by a sprinter first. JMO
Great idea for a small class b, price is a little high, but not to far off from full set up class b vans. But I’m sure US manufactures have taken note and soon one will come out from one of them, maybe even for a little less money.
I love the overhead pull-down bed. Brilliant.
No room to store a picnic table and chairs. Not practical. Not useful size then is it?
I loved that Rv. Wish it had a bigger lithium bank. Other than that it’s nice. My wife hated it 😂. I could live in it solo 🤔😂😂. Looks well built and lots of storage too. Be nice on a transit AWD too.
That’d be a good platform for it
I like this. I also like my money. I think I'll just buy a small house. End
I like it. Just wish I could afford. I'll keep looking. Thanks for show it to us.
Italians make that cool, clean stuff. Open up a dealership in Canada. We love Italy frig.
@@Weretherussos Thanks!
Don’t fool yourself thinking this as a van for four. It’s a van for two with emergency bed for two guests. 95% of time the extra cushion will stored out of the van. If you need space for four, look for something else
Guys, I don't think you could sleep underneath the overhead bed once it's down? Maybe children could?
This has a lot of great features, and I love that they’re bringing something new to the US market! I love the cassette toilette and drop-down bed with the huge skylights. Although, I would prefer the Ford AWD platform, and the fridge would be way to small for me personally (and maybe a lot of the American market?). Also, I wonder why the kitchen counter drops down on the right side? Seems like it would be a lot more useful if it were all level (at the higher height). Great option though! Looking forward to hearing about people’s experiences with it in the future.
Excellent point about the counter top - for a tall person prepping a meal that looks like a real pain
I mainly just want the pull down bed technology here with the ability to drive 4 people. Seems over priced however.
This exact Italian RV is $65K in Italy or England. Why does it cost $140k in the USA?
