Amazing review- however if people didnt pay the outrageous prices on these RVs they would be forced to lower the cost to something more reasonable. 120K for base model and fully loaded- just under 830K- thats outrageous and totally unreasonable. • @chevy4x466
      @chevy4x466 2 года назад +5

Well davey, 130 is pretty much a price point these days. Any class b or c with level of fit and finish will be in the 150k price range. I am still using my 28 foot autumn ridge that I bought for 20k a few years back. That unit is pretty spartan compared to later models but does the job. The down side of my trailer is that I spent 50k on a truck that tows it and I suffer poor gas mileage back and forth to work.
I wish nice things were more affordable. I would like a new class c, however vacation properties are probably a better value.

I’m disabled and have a lot of medical stuff for my feeding tube and central line; however I want to travel and see more of our beautiful country. I’ve never seen the Grand Canyon. This is the only way I could travel. I can lay down if I need to and I get a months worth of medical supplies at a time so it has to be large enough for all that stuff. And this one looks perfect. I also have a medical service dog who sleeps beside me incase he needs to alert that a seizure is coming or sugar is off. And my German Shepherd and kitty also sleep with me. So having a bed that’s always set up and made, and it has easy access, for both me and the pets, is a MUST. My adult daughter and I are best friends and we look forward so much to us being able to travel before my health gets worse. This is the perfect size. Love it.
(Drive it my way and we will take it off your hands. lol “
As nice as it is, it isn’t very homey. I prefer many of the DIY ones with the personal touches.

After looking at many class A,B, B+, C motorhomes and vans I have come to the conclusion that smaller is now the bigger price tag relatively speaking. Many young people, as well as young at heart, want something smaller, off the grid-capable, manueverable, lots of solar panels, Li batteries etc. Those things, when crunched into a compact Ford or Mercedes Sprinter chassis for instance, ramps up the price to some low end Class A's or more. Class B+ or small class C's as here, have become increasingly desirable as a go-between size. Prices for these are also high relative to the cost per sq ft of a class A. Essentially you are paying a premium for better city maneuverability, better gas mileage, more remote campsite accessibility, less maintenance costs, European design/cabinets, and some higher tech stuff. To each their own. The pandemic has spurred more recent interest IMO for smaller motorhomes and vans.

VeryCleaverName wow. You are seriously impressive. My boyfriend is a lot like you. He refuses to pay someone to do something he can do himself. And with labor being costly and for good reason it’s definitely beneficial to do ourselves when and if possible . Not only is it hard hard work but if you ask me it takes talent, patience, and a good head to be able to accomplish these things most people will pay people to do for them because they can’t, some just don’t have the time, or talent but some are just lazy. As I said first this is hard hard work. But if you want something done right and you want it to last and be good quality the only way to guarantee that is doing myself these days. We just rebuilt my she shed that got destroyed by a falling tree during a storm. And honestly I’m happy it did. I love my shed. We even added a gorgeous patio to it which was never there before. Yes it took awhile to complete the project but only because we could only work on it when at home and we also work during the day at our real jobs. So was limited but thanks to quarantine my shed is complete. And better than ever. And Now I’ve got it in my head that my boyfriend and I can build anything together. So I’ve got a pretty lengthy list for home projects and I’ve become very ambitious. Oh my god. Okay I’ve been ranting sorry. Point is since we finished Ive really been thinking about how great tiny home living can be. Hell and when building myself I can make it doable and keep cost down enough to make myself a tiny home for moms to escape to. Then I started thinking about the Tiny Home movement going on and I don’t think this is just a trend. Tiny homes are here to stay. I would absolutely love to build a tiny home community for families that struggle. Everyone should be able to have a home or something that they can call theirs. And Tiny homes can be very doable even for a family with the right layout and storage. The world has become so accustomed to everything being bigger better larger and because of that you’ve gone too far. And there are to many children in this world that don’t have a home at all which should never ever be the case. And we the people have the ability to change that and to help each other. My hope is for the community to work as one. It takes a Village to raise a child. Just one child needs a village to raise it, yet we don’t have any fucking villages for them. (Sorry I get passionate about this). But we can change that. We as in the people that do instead of pay to get done. We the people could build these communities and we could do so in a way to support our own families. Because when we help each other we are really just helping ourselves. Tiny Homes are just what the world needs. And more than any the world needs tiny home communities.

My partner drives a 24 foot Sprinter as his work vehicle and we routinely use it for other purposes. We have never had any difficulty parking it. You simply have to adjust your thinking and look for spots out of the 'traffic lane' in parking lots and choose spots that aren't as popular to other people. Sure, you may have a longer walk to wherever you are going but it isn't a big deal. I admit I was concerned about the slight overhang out of the parking spot but when you look around and see how badly people park in regular sized vehicles, you lose that concern quickly. We have also had no difficulties at gas stations, rural roads or performing three point turns when the rural road turns out to be a dead end :) Don't let the length deter you from going for a longer van. It's all in the skill of the driver and the use of planning/thinking ahead skills that we all possess.

I love Leisure Travel’s Wonder units, but they really need to get up with the times. Put a Volta battery in (there’s plenty of space), hook it up to underhood generator (I.e. secondary alternator), get rid of propane altogether or leave it only for heater and please, replace that 3 way refrigerator with modern compressor-driven fridge. Running generator every time you need to boil water is RIDICULOUS.

Survtech / the generator is used to run the A/C to cool the van after heating up the van by running the stove. And around and around we go. 😲

    • @seanshea11
      @seanshea11 4 года назад +2

Why do you need to run the generator to boil water? This is incorrect. The stove is propane. The generator is a backup if you are boon docking and do not have electrical for an extended period. Even then, you can option up to 400 Watts of solar on the roof and the Wonder comes with 2 X 6 volt batteries for over 200 AH of battery power and there is a lithium upgrade option available. All the whining here about the price etc is comical. They are expensive luxury toys for the few who can afford them. There are plenty of cheaper options. if you look at what these units offer in terms of amenities and fit and finish they are spectacular. Oh, and by the way, they have a 12 to 18 month waiting list due to demand.

I tend to believe that if you're going to give up on the comforts of a larger rig then get something that will allow you to park anywhere. I recall the video where Joe's mom took you to the beach due to parking restrictions in CA. That is a real pain especially considering you probably won't have a toad. Maybe consider a van short enough in height and length to fit in Santa Barbara with a pop top on it.

I like all the convenience do-dads they have on that rig, but I just sold off a Class C I had that was about that size because it was too big to go to all the places I wanted to visit. I am currently in the process of converting a GMC extended (20'4" long) one ton van into my "ideal" camper. Added a 24" high top from Fiberine so that I have headroom and for one person there is plenty of room inside. I get 14-17 MPG driving at freeway speeds, so it is way more economical than my old RV.

I am considering this unit as an option for full timing in retirement soon. (I’m 63 y/o). I have not towed a travel trailer and am thinking this would be much easier to handle than a ¾ ton truck and TT. The hard part is trying to make the best choice. I cannot afford to change out vehicles a year later like I see so many folks on You Tube seem to do... I don’t have the finances for a do-over and I am trying not to get caught in analysis paralysis.

PleasureWay has better customet service. Check out their wide-bodies.
I actually wanted this exact unit, but I heard so many negative things about trying to get customer service in the USA that I decided to go PleasureWay.
It's too bad, because these LTVs are gorgeous.
RUclips has a channel called Ultramobility that will detail the differences between PW & LTV.
      I hope it helps.
      P.S. I heart the Russos!

Sandi , This is a myth. LTV will allow you to get it repaired anywhere. Inform yourself. Once the repair has been OK’d they send a cheque to reimburse.

@@TuffTitties4U I watch a variety of RUclips channels of people who are full-time RVers. There are many brands of RVs that can be troublesome when it comes to having things fall apart and having difficulty in getting them repaired.
One channel, Creativity RV, is a widow in the USA who details how she almost had a nervous breakdown trying to get her RV repaired.
Another one is The RV Dummy. He is a retired doctor who is a full-time RVer with his wife. He also has a few videos where he tells his story of things falling apart and the nightmare of tring to get repairs done correctly and in a timely fashion.
Before considering RVing full time, watch a channel by attorney Steve Lehto called 'Lehto's Law.' He has specializes in the Lemon Law for cars. He says that the RV industry is not protected by the Lemon Law.
Watch his video called something like, 'Never Buy an RV.' That's not to say that no one should buy an RV. He just gives you warnings from his decades of experience of people losing their life savings by buying an RV that turned out to be a lemon and they had zero legal recourse.
That being said, I LOVED the RV life when we lived in our Class A growing up as a kid.
Yes, things were always breaking down, but my dad was an auto mechanic and he was able to fix anything.
Two more channels to watch of RVers who had problems are Streamin Freedom (a fuul-time family of 5) and a war veteran named Hebard.
I would say that if you are considering buying an RV, first of all, rent one for a few weeks or a month to see if the life suits you. Some people quit after the first time they have to dump their black tank full of poop.
Also, whatever brand you are considering, Google the phrase, "(name of brand) complaints." For example, "Road Trek complaints," or "Hymer complaints," etc.
Theen you will get a better picture of what you are dealing with.
      Happy Trails!

buzz zub Thanks for your detailed response. Lots of good stuff here. What bothers me is the experience of one or two individuals who have super negative experiences that get published and then people quote it at “infinitum” creating the impression that there really is a big issues with any one type of brand. People who have positive experiences do not post inflammatory posts that go viral giving the impression that there are serious issues. This is the case that is quoted in a previous post (Creative RV).

LeisureVans has upgraded this model with options like a 2000 Watt Pure Sine-Wave inverter and batteries, the fridge doors can swing in both directions making it easy to access from either side, there's a WiFi booster that can double as a hot-spot, an in-motion satellite antenna option is available that can support the DishTV, DirectTV, and Bell (for Canadian customers), and others to name a few.

My wife and I have used it more than the A class and our first B class! No need to haul another vehicle! We go to Pigeon Forge usually 2x a year and generally don’t have problems parking!

First, you two make a great video. Seriously, I point people to you as an example of how to shoot and edit videos. Second, that camper is amazingly well thought-out. They are doing a great job utilizing space in very creative ways. The price seems really reasonable too. My only concerns are the parking, and the bed area not being comfortable enough for someone over 6'. Pretty great layout though!

Yeah, I don’t know why they are putting so many RVs on the Mercedes Sprinter. Try finding Mercedes mechanics and parts in the middle of Utah or the Yukon. I like the LTVs, but imo opinion you almost have to get the Wonder, because the rest seem to be on Mercedes.
