Best guitar/pedal channel on youtube. Hands down. You are devilishly creative, with an ear for turning weird into something truly beautiful. I am truly inspired to pick up my guitar and start messing with all the gear I have each time I watch one of your videos.
Bro just wanted to say that this channel is the best I've seen at talking about pedals and you approach it in a way that shows not only knowledge about the technical aspect of what you are talking about but most importantly a developed ideal about methodology and the importance of intention that are important to show the honest creativity each person has. And you do all this while showing us that unique aesthetic you create with sound, those action figure images with pixelated backgrounds are such an accurate visual representation of the sounds you use. Thanks for all the videos, 10/10 channel!
First time watching your channel, but I believe you've said about 'delay' is true to any effect. It's hard to explain to someone who never tried effects or never used them in a live situation. the 'effect' for the effect, is useless, unless it adds something to what you're already playing (intention), then, there's taste and purpose, tact and situation awareness. ps sorry for my bad English! Take care, I'll watch the rest now!
My new favorite hobby is going through your tips and jamming them out before I listen to how you do it. You use your gear a lot differently then I do and I think it's good to get uncomfortable or reacquainted with my pedals.
Love your weird lofi video game world, Mr cyberattack. I also like how you keep saying you want me to this or that like you’re personally invested in me making better more interesting music. I appreciate you
The sound of delay length jumping about is the sound of joy! A do want to give a vote to controlling repeats with the expression pedal though, it's cool to add a fadeout with some controlled oscillation at the end of a phrase or song :)
Yes, I’ve been getting some great sounds, by assigning different parameters to an expression pedal with a Raster 2, and I can do those Rubberneck effects, or just use it for a cool way to get this movement on solos, after changing modulation rate and depth up. So many things to do with it, and I’ve been focusing on uasssvle things for gigging, after I spent a month just doing film score type stuff.
about the last tip, about messing with delay times with expression pedals to pitch shift the signal... paul banks from interpol does something similar to this on the track untitled. he uses the hold function of the pedal to keep the same note ringing and starts changing the duration knob to pitch shift the note, it creates a pretty cool effect. happens at the end of the song
I’m a bassist but you always make me feel like I need more “fun” pedals on my board, I just use the utility stuff like compression, tube saturation, gate, overdrive etc.
Go nuts mate. I use lots of pedals with the bass. Specialy if you play without band fx can be a cool toy on bass. If you search for it you find lots of videos about fx on bass 🌻 Njoy
Just stumbled upon your video about reverb and now watching this and getting so excited to try these things at home. Thank you for such inspiring videos.
A lot of this is what electronic musicians have been using for years. Glad guitar players have discovered it! One of my fave ways is to split the signal into 2 or more, and have a 100% delay on various drive pedals to get a stereo pan and time shifted signal path that sounds like multiple players rather than just one person with a delay. You need a small mixer for this, and one that will go back to a stereo amp or use a reamp box or Helix etc.
So I just commented this on another video but I play reggae/dub, and what we do is run the delay into itself to the point where you can’t tell what the original sound is. It also gets real nice and overdriven and if you add a filter in it gets real interesting.
Having fun with rhythmic delays is actually like playing with a metronome as the slightest time mistake will send you off. I learned how to keep time indefinitely with my boss dsd3 in the 90s and now my 8 year old daughter is doing the same. I have about 20 delays and she still chose the dsd3.
I use delays a lot for sound design. I have some cheap and nasty, but I have an old Boss and Digitech, I'm going to have to try these. Especially the modulation genius, truly genius.
Very nice! It's amazing how far the 'echo' effect has come since I got my first Echoplex back in the late 1970's. Even then that was on its way out. If I remember correctly, the Electro-Harmonix Memory Man came along. I had one and it changed my life as a guitarist and musician. I used it for more than just guitar.
Fantastic video! You've really inspired me to dig into my delay pedals again but what really impressed me are your riffs and melodies , right up my street !
@@CyberattackWorld nice! I never got to play the Genesis because i was born in 97 but i my first console was a Nintendo 64 and i always loved the games that were on there. I miss playing F-Zero so much man lol
Great video, I love dotted eighth delay, it scratches my brain just right and I use it all the time, but I use it too much/as a crutch. This gives me some good ideas to branch out.
Great video. Great ideas. I used to use the delay pedal on a lot more of a rhythmic way. I do have to be a lot more deliberate. Because I used to make great rhythmic echoes
how am I finding out about this channel just now? straight-ahead super solid info, great examples of your playing, and the art was really dope as well - subscribed.
I don’t personally do number 1 for actual songs - I’ll play around with it but I always feel derivative or like I’m trolling. I do use it for a purpose but I like delay being more backgroundy. Especially with modulation (low and slow though for me) - it can really add that perfect sumn sumn to a section. Vibrato on the benson is top notch As soon as you mentioned the expression pedal I thought of the Supro. Good stuff. That was my fave lil tune as well.
this is a sick-ass video. i have no idea how to describe it but there's something really nice about the way you speak, it feels very honest, you seem like you know what you're talking about but you don't sound overly technical. and the entire sega dreamcast vhs 90s aesthetic thing you got going on is super neat, you should lean into it more!
I feel that a "like" does not cover it. I love how you actually use effects and textures to create new musical possibilities. Would love some thoughts on bass guitar. Love from norway.

Easily the most interesting pedal channel for finding windows of inspiration. Mind blowing
This is by far my favorite channel. It’s modest, unique, and on point. Thank you for creating 👌🤙❤️
thank you for this comment
The vintage video game visual commentary is outstanding 😂👏👏👏
Exactly how I use my Deco. So handy and the other features make it an instant classic.

What a wonderful feeling to be both advanced and creative with a trusty delay pedal!

As far as your first tip, but slap back delay sounds so good, and helps make your rhythm.sound so full

This is the coolest pedal video I've ever seen
nice bit of Sheryl crow appreciation in there as well, love that
Never can't say goodbye to one of your videos!
glad you caught that
"On Your Own" by Blur. Graham Coxon's use of the Boss DD is fantastic.
Blur mentioned
Your content is always as good as an ice-cream on a Saturday afternoon
Incredible vibrato sound!
that's probably my favorite sound in this video
I'm a delay 'overindulger'... This approach is truly inspiring! So glad I just discovered this channel...
Subscribed!!
that rendition of never can say goodbye is so sick that I didn't even miss David T. Walker's immaculate guitar playing
Love the 8-bit animations as well
your visuals are so beautiful!!!

a cool thing you can do is match the last echo with a chord that would form a complex chord together, forming a 13th chord or something.

This is hands down the best pedal video I have ever watched. Love the content!
You channel is simply genius. So much creativity and I’m here for it. Keep em coming!
I will watch everything this dude puts up, because it always rules
This is my second video and this is already my favorite channel, it inspired me so much already, and I love everything about the visuals.
Love the visuals.
It is obvious that thought was put into these
Cyberattack new video 🤩
Inspiring stuff! Delay is one of my favorite effects, awesome to see a whole Cyberattack vid on the subject!

I watched this video stoned and wanted to like it about 5 times having forgotten that I had already done so
Never Gonna Goodbye Girl…. Super groove !
Beautiful chord progressions ❤
Just stumbled upon your video about reverb and now watching this and getting so excited to try these things at home. Thank you for such inspiring videos.
Once again, you've nailed this vid, +9000 points for style.
Wow ! A real eye opener here, didn't know you could do this stuff. Thanks

Guitarists have used delay since before electronic music

You give so many great starting points for creativity. Huge appreciation for your work and thank you for sharing.
Really good one. The first example really shows how different voicings can be do different especially with the delay
holy shit this video about delay pedals is high quality as hell
Love your imagery! Nice work sir.
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen maybe ever? I’m subscribed now.

I love the Benson delay. One of my best purchases in a long time. Love that nostalgic sound. I’m surprised it doesn’t get more love. It’s incredible.
I completely agree, that pedal is no joke.
love it, awesome visual style that complements the audio
Absolutely rad! Love those sounds and phrasings. Thanks for the tips, this is inspiring.
Idk why, but every time i hear anything you play it always makes me think of a Sega or a Dreamcast game for some reason.
It’s definitely because I played a lot of Sega Genesis as a child.
@@CyberattackWorld nice! I never got to play the Genesis because i was born in 97 but i my first console was a Nintendo 64 and i always loved the games that were on there. I miss playing F-Zero so much man lol
Cool video! I usually use delay for rhythmic effect, but I also enjoy using it as a reverb on occasion.
Great video. Love the isolation and pure showcase of the sound and only effect.
one of the best videos that ive seen in a long time, i love it!
Benson delay is one of the best Chorus pedals out there
that pedal is extremely good
I've found something here can't wait to check out some more of your vids
This is the greatest channel. Thank you
Great video, I love dotted eighth delay, it scratches my brain just right and I use it all the time, but I use it too much/as a crutch. This gives me some good ideas to branch out.
You could try setting the delay for 5 eighth notes. It gives it a more robotic feel and it's great
Of all the music channels on RUclips, your's is by far my favorite!
I have tried delays from all over! Top to bottom of the mountain!! for digital I now just stick with an old Boss DSD-3 :)
Fantastic group of ideas here! I also am enjoying the abandoned malls in place of the GTA flybys this time around.
You create my new favorite songs in every video!
I recently got a boss re20 and this will really help me start to unlock it!!
Messin with delay times with high feedback on a drum kit is the boss…what i did this weekend….
First time viewer. I adore the visuals. Lovely little stop motion animations!
Great video. Great ideas. I used to use the delay pedal on a lot more of a rhythmic way. I do have to be a lot more deliberate. Because I used to make great rhythmic echoes
This video is pure gold!

Cool and inspiring as always, but writing because I wanted to give you props for stepping up your drum machine/synth bass game of late. Nice!

greati tips, but my neck hurts from watching this video
the montage of abandoned malls was really depressing. thanks for that.
we ignore them at our own peril

Your usage of effects is amazing. And your song are cool too 🙂

Pro tip 1 was amazing, man. Seriously inspiring stuff.
Tip #5 is my life now. Thanks!
Favorite channel and favorite topic: Cyberattack + Delay pedals. Is anything better?
real dope aesthetic man 👍🏻
Subscribed because this is a great video, great guitar playing, and the MJ diddy at the end was fireee!! Thanks!
thanks man glad you caught that
Each example is great!
This is your best yet. I *am* an echo head but still
The flanger example sounds like strangelight by Fugazi. V cool!
These are so great
Would kill for a video on how to use pedals for electronic drums!
Vini Reilly/Durutti Column vibes @2:45
For the last couple months I've been running my ARP-87 in slapback mode to get a chorus effect. I prefer it to my other dedicated chorus pedals, haha
dedicated chorus pedals are a psy-op
