Great tips Corey. You made me realise I use too much reverb & delay. When you had it at that level that that I hardly noticed it, until you turned it off, then I realised how much it was beefing up the sound. More tips like this would be great. Thanks

I've had my Keeley Halo for about 6mths but the operation of it mystifies me. I have watched countless demo videos but I know nothing about maths or quarter notes & I've been thinking of emailing Keeley to ask them if they might be able to help me out but you have given me some bite size chunks that I can understand and experiment with. The part that confuses me is the blue LED that signifies a change to the presets...and whether the pedal defaults when the power is switched off then back on. But the blue light doesn't default....groan...my head hurts, but thanks to you, Corey, you explain in a way I can keep up with.

I like my Keeley Hydra, and think Robert did a great job with the interface. It's well labeled, so accessing the secondary features are (more or less) intuitive. My only issues with the Hydra is that the reverb on mine is very noisey and I sometimes get a low end hum in some venues when engaged.
I'm seriously considering the Keeley Halo echo unit to replace my BOSS DD-200. The BOSS unit is good with a lot of odd delay effects, but surprisingly lacks a stereo delay. Being a stereo pedal, I expected the DD-200 to have stereo delays. The Halo obviously has some great stereo effects.

Great review of how a pro like yourself sets up basic delay sounds! When reviewing the modulation settings however, it would have been helpful to lay off the guitar's vibrato to demonstrate how it's the delay pedal that actually introduces that modulation and not the vibrato. The resulting effect is like a gentle chorus that is prominent in the HALO setting. In any case, I love your videos and learn something every time I watch them!

I tend to prefer using a room reverb as a slapback than actually using a slapback. Could be my undisciplined playing preferring not having the repeats, or could be that using a reverb for slap leaves my other delays open for more "showy rubbish" to be piled on top.

Corey, love the tone you have here. I’ve been using a Strymon Deco for that little slap/room doubler. Needless to say, that’s an always-on now. Still struggling with ‘verb. I’ve been using a Flint, which comes closer than most to the sound in my head. Might see if I can get my hands on a Hydra or the UA as I feel I need a bit more control of the pre-delay.
