      I too am glad for that, and Dan is teasing Mick's ocd with his scratchy volume control, lol. Great playing, nice to see a guitar player not pluck the bass strings hard like a guitar player usually does. :)

    I just picked up a DD-200 to replace multiple delays on my board. You guys are the best at deep diving and practical use of gear. It was nice to see you run through the settings, then apply that into a live band mix. Very helpful indeed!eep up the great work.

    Genius. So great to see and *hear* real-life , in-band applications of these effects we love so much.
    And incidentally, that Gold Top into the ODR-1 and BD2 combo (into these 2 amps), with or without delay…Pure. Unadulterated. Magic.
    Also - Mick’s shoes rock. That is all.

Also: big ups to The Freshness, as Dougie's American fans know him. We tried calling him "D-Dawg" but it was maybe a bit too yoga-centric, and "Adho Mukha Shvanasana" seemed a mouthful.

    I love, love, love, _LOVE_ the new _In Your Band_ series, guys. Now you can go back in time and select all the gold in the same context. I'm holding out for the "How to use ring modulation and octave fuzz in love ballads" episode. That'll be gold. BTW, Mick, I noticed you lads hit 108 dB on the meter with the Casino and not even a hint of howl. That suggests a band at reasonable volumes can easily get away with a hollow body in the mix. Nice to see I have another excuse to buy a guitar. "But, honey! I need ALL the TONEZ!" 🤣☺️

    Round 1 - doubling: My DD-7 is always-on for this, but with a slightly longer delay.
    Round 2 - slap back: Very well played, Mick!
    Round 3 - multi-head: YEAH! This is where the Gilmour in us comes out.
    Round 4 - long 1.5 delay: Yes! Used to hate delay, but this is awesome for lead.
    Round 5 - dotted eights: All hail the mighty Dougie! Also, very well played, Dan! Flawless timing by all of you!
    Round 6 - massively long delays: Very cool, but it takes a Dan to pull it off :-)

    This episode is making my trek from Acoutic guitar to eletric less stressful. I play mostly in church and the last jam is very close the style we play in. I'm using an analog delay... because right now I have to go direct into the pa. But we are playing around with smaller t amps on the side to see if we can make it work...even the keyboard player. Our pastor seems to dig it. He reminds us often that our church has a lot of former 'Dead Heads' in it and to not be afriad of getting a little loud. Thanks so much guys... I will be shareing this one with the team.

    • @Thatbobguy8
      @Thatbobguy8 3 года назад

      Use a simplifier instead of an amp. Build a good board to go with it. Keep stage volume to a minimum. It really helps. Let the sound guy take of the rest as long as he/she is good at what they do! Take it from a "dead head" who plays in church and loves loud. I routinely run our service at or around 100db and it sounds amazing

    I have a BOSS DD-200 and it really is amazing, so versatile in that the settings I mainly use are not even mentioned in your vid. The SHIMMER, PAD and TERO echo settings create an abundance of ambient accents and reverberating resonances. And plugging in a footswitch can let you hold the sound (the last chord played) or even do that WARP or TWIST effect which can add a great touch now and then.

    • @ThatPedalShow
      @ThatPedalShow  3 года назад +1

      Don’t think it’s clipping, Mick here, as everything is under. But it’s a loud guitar, digital pedal and digital recording. The latter two are often a bit harsh on the trebles and transients of mild overdrive sounds. I might be a little bit over eager with the 3-4K, which makes that stuff jump out. Thanks for the feedback tho - I’ll have a double check back through. Cheers!

    Great great show. One of the most musical and useful in the long history of TPS. Waited years for the “in the mix” sounds. can’t wait to see more in this style. It’s both a return to a simple and instructive show, but also a massive technical challenge I’m sure. Thanks guys for continuing to push yourselves to do challenging stuff.

      Thank you Sunil. In the end it was much simpler than I thought it would be. Few mics, have a hit, bit of mixing. Happy days!

    Thats the best that Casino has ever sounded....nice to see Stumpy Joe is still with us this week....
    Mick - The 4 head section ended up sounding like some sort of blues surf hybrid...i liked it...id buy an album full of that

    DD-200 is ridiculously good for the money. I got mine for about €220 new. Fantastic sounding and all the delays I need.

    OMG what a fantastic and inspriing episode. You all played like masters and it was so glorious. Thank you so much. I want a whole album of these jams. Fantastic!!! I am trying not to complain that the show is not more than an hour. Love you boys.

    Really great stuff.
    Good to have the context.
    My favourite thing about RUclips musicians is there's always a guitarist who has a "cheap bass, just for recording", a bassist that has a "cheap guitar just for recording" and a drummer that has a couple of musical mates and doesn't care how expensive their guitars are because his drums are louder!
    😂
    Keep up the great videos guys.
    Best wishes.

    Having just brought a Timeline, this video has a treasure chest of great ideas on how to incorporate the delay into our set lists! And once the G3 arrives, I am off to the races. So great to see you guys playing with the ideas presented
