That’s cool. I would like a version like this, but with a bottom and sides, so it would actually function as a small hidden storage compartment. You could put change or other small items in there and out of the way.

This! I see people mounting phones there or ask about how to route wires and I'm just confused on what purpose the phone has when a more intuitive and driving tailored option it's literally already available

Running other apps. Having a dedicated tablet is also nice for some people, better than what ford gives you.
