I've been following the whole armor build since day one, slowly building up my confidence to try making the suit myself, but I cant wait to get started!
@@aiedle007 I have used 2 double shoulders from Tandy in 8 oz. and made the helmet, two spaulders, and 2 arm sets, all in 120% oversize. I imagine I'll use 2 more making the cuirass and another one to make the gorget and tasset set.
I have done some leather work when I was a kid. I haven't seen the technique of using weight on the piece to steady the work. Mine kept moving on me, that's why I haven't done it in a while.
I just want to thank you so much prince! You helped encourage me to just go for it even though I had people that judge my choices! I'm so thankful to you for giving me the courage to just say to heck with it and try anyways!! 🙏🖤
Hello! Just bought this pattern. I'm sort of wondering what size neck you recommend for the different scales. I'm guessing you want some clearance around your neck but how much? The 100% scale looks fairly small, with approximate circumference of 14 inches. What size neck would this be best for? Looking to make this for my neck size (which is 14"), and for my husband who has a 15.5" neck. Looked at the information online, the video tutorial for the gorget and the one on scaling and I can't quite figure it out. Thanks for the help!
I keep looking at the design of this and thinking to myself that would look wicked with an eye of Sauron embedded under the middle barb. That or maybe two monster like eyes
Great video, you do amazing work! I've been doing leather work on and off for about 20 years and I love watching your videos. Will you be making any sword or dagger hanger videos?
Tuff Kote is the sealer used here. It gives a result somewhere between a satin and low polish. It's a great protectant and seals very well. Check out the "leather supplies" link in the description for a great source
Question for you, is putting gold leaf on the edges of leather Armor a good idea? or does it some off? Any way to seal it to the armor so that it doesn't rub off?
Depends on where on the body and the amount of use it will see, like high friction or high flex areas it probably won't last long qnd as far as rubbing off there are a few semi flexible clear coats just remember to do a test piece to make sure it will have a desirable effect
That's how it's pronounced? I've always pronounced it "gor-get" with hard g's and the typical English pronunciation of the "t." You know, T as in 'T-uh-a-a-n leather' or 'T-a-p-uh' the 'T-uh-o-o-l genT-uh-ly.' Oh, and the 'gorzhey' is up to the standards we expect to see from your masterful craftsmanship. Excellent.
There was some weird glitch with my printer driver that was causing everything to print in negative. No idea why, or what was wrong but reinstalling the driver fixed it.
WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!! THAT BEAUTIFUL !! EPIC LOOKING , TO BAD I CANT TRANSFER THIS TO MY ROGUE IN WORLD OF WARCRAFT! HE ALL LEATHER ,LOL

Same, I wonder how much leather a full set takes.
you're gonna love it dude, its so rewarding

Great video as usual, but what kind of sociopath prints white on black? Ink is expensive.
The best kind.
Excellent. Looks like a good project to disguise the look of a modern leather waistcoat.
Thank you for sharing you knowledge with us
2:58 It reminded me of the song "Under pressure" from the Queen and David Bowie
As always, a great video and another beautiful piece. I can't wait to see the entire suit together.
Can't wait to grab pattern and start making it I'm making a full suit peice at a time as you release them awesome job thanks

Keep it up. Absolutely fantastic! One more pattern sold.
Not really into gorgets, but still lots to learn from this video.
A gorgeous gorget.
An amazing work as always 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 bravo
The armor is very beautiful

You're welcome. We all need a past time and nothing beats the smell of leather.
love that armor! so good!
What ranges for the weight of the leather do you recommend? I'm a newer leather worker and still trying to figure out the weights. Thank you!
superb work as always! Time to make a gorget to go with my full suit...
Very nice job you got a new sub and I think I'm ready to make my first set of armor one piece at a time

Great work! This give me an idea for my next cosplay. Keep the videos coming!

Heck yeah! Tht would be badass! Make it happen!
Lookin good man. Miss TRF more and more with every video. lol
This was amazing!
Hello, so I'm doing this pattern but I'm modifying it slightly as it would have straps rather than snaps to wear it, I hope that ok?
Fantastic work!
wouldn't a stitch groover work for the deepened edges long the side? or is a swivel knife better?
List of tools and prices/links would be great.
My question is, where did you get the anvil in the videeos? I can't find it online any where.
Stunning....
Is that the plain red pro dye, your is much more vibrant looking then mine.

I'll probably do some accessories to go with this theme once its finished. Might do those, we'll see.
@@Princearmory That would be great, would love to see your ideas on that.
Awsome video and awsome armer
hola muy bueno video me gustó mucho
Do you have another video showcasing the complete set?
Edit. Nevermind found it
There are videos of each segment made so far but since each piece demonstrates different techniques and colors its rather hodgepodge.
Once again amazing. But I do have to ask. When Shins and knees?
I’m new to leather and using this series to teach me. I’ve done the vambraces and the helmet so far. How did you get it so shiny? Is it the oil dye?

Could anyone recommend a UK based company to buy leather from ive searched around but would like some experienced advice
I like the potato peeler tool. Very interesting one for sure.
Why is it printed in white. Isn’t that a lot of wasted ink for the paper to be black?
Will the gorget work with the pauldrons alone

Rich people problem xD
I like it

I feel like epic fantasy soundtrack style music would suit these vids better.
what skiver do you use in this video?
How do you make the armor fit perfectly on the person who is going to wear it?
scale, adjustment, and pattern mockups.
I use cheap yoga mats to mock-up for sizing before cutting expensive leather, as the mat replicates teh thickness better than a paper pattern does.
Lots of measurements help a lot
I am using this same pattern for foam armor, anyone w experience know if it will be much different?
Uh sort of depends on the foam and stuff...like eva foam will probably work but there is some durability loss compared to leather
Is it weird that the music reminds me of Stranger Things? (I like the music though, it's a change from the usual.)
will there also be a codpiece prince armory?
it is a consideration.
Why is the pattern black with white lines
To waste printer ink
I know right

@@katjoe1974 Toner, but yeah, and it wasn't intentional.
