    You're a good dude for letting people sell pieces made from your patterns. I believe in CC and open source trade skills and learning paths for people... Everyone forgets that learning these skills takes a ton of time and dedication and if you cant sell what you make then what are you supposed to eat? Air? You gained yourself a new subscriber and fan of your work. Thanks dude.

    When I built my fantasy helmet, I found it worked quite well to use chicago screws for the hinge points. I also added snaps at the jawline to secure the visor, and a 1/2" wide chinstrap to secure the helmet. The rivets for the strap are hidden beneath the visor overlap.

    • @Princearmory
      @Princearmory 3 года назад +1

      @@Princearmory oh one more thing, I follow another RUclips leathercrafter "little king goods" and he also uses a glowforge to cut finished leather but uses what looks like an 8 or 10 inch roll of masking tape as a sacrificial layer on the leather so there are no scorch marks. Maybe something that might help you.

    I know a fair number of people that have Glowforges, and it seems that most of them have come to the conclusion they'd have been better off getting a larger and more powerful machine, like a Universal or Epilog.

    • @Princearmory
      @Princearmory 3 года назад

      I got a larger machine first years ago and if I had it to do over at this point in time I would go with the Glowforge first. There is a huge convenience factor in the size when combined with the air filter you can get with it so you can put it inside your main work area. Love it and it will pay for itself in time saving on buckle straps and small bits alone. If you do a lot of large scale work though, then yeah it will definitely make more sense to go for a bigger machine. It really depends.

    not finished watching yet but, please dont run your laser at 100% much do multiple passes on a lower setting like 60-80%, co2 lasers don't like 100% power, you will degrade the life of the laser tube 2-4 times faster. i have run a laser cutting business for 3 years now and trust me it helps, also try adding masking tape to both sides to stop any of the chemical leach into the leather that may discolour it.
