Damn Nils Beardfoot!! This is crazy good.
Thank you very much :)
❤ good job
Thank you :)
EPIC!
Thank you :)
I wonder how much leather I would ruin before I got a project like this right? Excellent work, and well done!
Thank you very much. I guess if you never try we will never find out :)
@@NilsBeardfoot A valid point! As my parents used to tell me so very long ago, "Can't never could".
I love watching a craftsman who has mastered his trade work. It's like being a witness to the creation of a work of art. Great video and a beautiful helmet but I gotta know if you could have done the helmet with real horns?
Thank you very much :) yes real horn are possible too. Mostelikly for this I would have drilled hole on the horns and sewn it with leather strengthend on the helmet. Real horns make the helmet very heavy though and dangerous to wear on LARP combat.
the way of sewing the horns to the rest of the case has been really amazing. where could i learn technical eda?
Thank :) Well its simply very lose sowing so witchcraft in that, I think the best way to learn something new is just trying it out
Super❤❤❤
Thank you :)
🤘
Whoah!! this is so insanely detailed and cool :)) Do you take any commissions to make the helmets? I would buy the pattern but I am not a skilled leatherworker and don't trust myself in any way lol, but I'm very interested in this helmet!
Thank you :) currently I do not take commissions, I am sorry, but you could ask another craftsman to create the helmet for you with the pattern.

A simple viewer cannot do this without special equipment and tools, and skills, but what about a master? And the master has enough of his own affairs!
This sounds quiet poetic, but I am not sure what it means
I wonder: how many hours did this take? A stunning piece!
Thank you very much :) most projects I do over different days, so it is hard to count the hours, so all I can give you is an guess, something around 20h without the designing part for sure :)
@@NilsBeardfoot Wow, that's not a lot, considering how much detail you've got there. Thank you for the answer!
@@janeway73 you are welcome:) it's just a estimation, but with more practice you get faster
Hello, your work is wonderful. Would you be willing to share where you got that triangular knotwork stamp? I love it!
Thank you very much :) Shure this it is this one

@@NilsBeardfoot nice! I can't wait to try this out, thank you again!
@@ericvonriegers499 you are very welcome:)
Any tutorials on making the head cushion?
Thank you 🙏
It is actually not made by myself, I bought it here burgschneider.de/polsterhaube-eisenbruck-braun.html
But it is a German vendor, so I am not sure you if you can get it where you are.
Would it be possible to make a drinking horn out of leather in the same style as yours? Of course the interior could require some kind of coat to keep dry
Could be possibly, bees wax would work as coat in the I side (got a video on drinking bottles), but I would recommend you sewing it with thread not leather straps like these horns
Bad ass
Thank you :)
It's amazing. How many you sell ?
Thank you :) I sell the pattern so you can build it yourself
schöner Helm :) ... wo bekommt man denn das innenfutter her?
Where did you get the ruin carving tools? What's the name of the company?
Do you mean these?

You skipped any information on how to make those little pyramids is that in the template ?
Yes, sorry about that, they are in the template and simple to make, they are just 4 triangles as one piece foulded a bit and sown directly in a square spot to fit in
@@NilsBeardfoot No worries I just wanted to scale them up to make a few bigger ones, couldnt find any other triangle patterns lol
@@treyandrews6721 :D well they are very simple toake because of there geometric shape, I am sure you will manage :)
do you ever sell your helmets?
Currently only the patterns, but you can ask another creator to make them with the pattern for you
How long have you been working with leather?
Sorry about the late response, just saw it now. I had to check myself, its 4,5 years by now
@@NilsBeardfoot but where did you find those tools
@@jamesward1045 I got most of mine form a saddlery supplies trader, they usually have online shops. I can tell you only about those I use in germany but if you look it up on the internet, I am sure you will find one in your area

Где-то заплакали реконструкторы
:D Да, я уверен, но историческая достоверность никогда не была моей целью, иначе не было бы ничего, кроме кожаных доспехов из ламелей.
Wow....👍👏👏
Thanks :)
Trying to like. But its not registering.
That's fine, it is only important that the person who builds it likes it :)
Nils I need you to make this for me. I’ll pay.
I answered you on etsy
Dragonborn
Yes,but it is actually inspired from world of Warcraft:D
