      The last Delta flight I was on said there was a problem with an engine on the wing and they didn’t even choose to fly in a different plane with working parts. When everybody finally landed to their destination, Delta let it be known that EVERYONE’S bags were still left at the original point of departure. That was when I promised myself I’d never fly Delta again.

      @@MichaelWaisJrI wonder what that pilots thinking was to take off without everyone’s luggage ? And having a mechanical issue? Strange. Glad everyone was safe.

    Hmmm.......It was a DFW to LAX flight and it made an "emergency landing" at LAX? Isn't that just a completed flight?

    • @jh.4770
      @jh.4770 2 месяца назад +4

      @kendallevans4079 it's an emergency landing because an emergency was declared. Doesn't matter if it's a completed flight or not. It's not a diverted flight.

    • @jh.4770
      @jh.4770 2 месяца назад +3

      @@kendallevans4079the emergency was the issue that caused the plane's steering to malfunction. Likely a hydraulic issue

    • @jh.4770
      @jh.4770 2 месяца назад +1

      @@kendallevans4079it can still be an emergency even if they're landing at their destination. They declare an emergency if there's a problem.
      When they declare an emergency, there's a lot of things the tower and crews on the ground needs to prepare. Tower probably needs to hold the departing planes. Tower probably needs to clear the airspace and keep other planes out of the way.
      An emergency is an emergency. It doesn't matter if they're landing at their destination or somewhere else.

    • @jh.4770
      @jh.4770 2 месяца назад

      @@kendallevans4079think of this,
      A plane is about to land at LAX, their intended destination. Suddenly their engine catches fire. Engine is fully engulfed. They land. But it's "not an emergency landing" because they landed at their destination 🙄.
      You see how silly that sounds?

      Think of all the departures and arrivals every day, worldwide and how many passengers fly around the globe, and you will see that aviation is very safe. They apparently reported a steering problem, not a flight control problem. Steering is only used on the ground, not in the air. Pilots do not steer airplanes in they air, they fly them and steer them when they taxi.
