Funny enough I think you captured JoJo Siwa at 6:05 of your vlog
I work at LAX and something I’d add is the shuttle situation between terminals. After the passengers have to leave the terminal to transfer to another terminal, they get confused on where to catch the shuttle and which one to get on.
There are a lot of different shuttles and they are not well marked. People constantly accidentally get on the employee shuttle and end up at the employee parking lot. I even gave someone a ride back to the airport once so they wouldn’t miss their flight lol.
Thanks J for the shuttle tip. So nice of you to give a traveler a ride!
Oh wow
@@YellowProductions I was scammed when I was coming back from Egypt I was in Turkey and I made a mistake leaving the airport. I was told that I would have a discounted hotel
@@YellowProductions I should of traveled to Southeast Asia it would of been a lot cheaper. I appreciate the video
@@YellowProductions I like California but I will stay in Hawaii I was homeless there and it's terrible with others on the streets in Downtown LA if u don't have a place. I had a hotel in San Francisco
It's a brilliant airport for plane spotting. The variety of aircraft is amazing especially the heavies A380, A340, A350, 747, 777 and the Dream liner ❤️✈️
That goes to same for most big international airport...take FRA for example, good train connections on both high speed rail and regional train. Therefore, the traffic around the airport is actually quite fine.
Of course, you can see all the planes you've mentioned.. and then some.. By the way, there's actually an outdoor terrace I believe
Some of the shortcomings in LAX come from the thoughts of its early planners in the 60s. They thought passengers will not want to spend time in the terminals, they want to park their cars, walk to the terminal, board the plane and go. International air travel was not a big thing and they did not envision being a major transfer hub. That explains the horseshoe setup with parking in the middle, small terminal buildings with little space for concessions or seating. The good thing about LAX is the cooperating weather year round, 4 parallel runways with wind from the same direction 95% of the time. Once you make it to the terminal, there is less chance you have to wait hours for a delayed flight.
Agreed. I believe LAX originally had the shortest distance from the curbside to the boarding gate. That was when people could sit with you until you got on your plane and you didn't have the type of security you have to go through now. LAX was originally praised for it's design to quickly get on and off a plane and be on your way.
Yes, that's a major plus .... Less weather-related delays compared with other major airports.
I flew in and out of long Beach last year on southwest. That was wonderful. No waiting for anything. No shuttles. A lot of it was outdoors so you could enjoy the nice weather.
Long Beach airport is sooo chill compared to LAX, I love it
Most of the line for TSA being outdoors at 6:00am was strange to me. Unique. But Long Beach and SNA are great just being one long terminal of 18 or 20 gates with a few decent eating options. I grabbed a round trip flight from St. Louis on Southwest in September for around $184 to Long Beach direct - honestly, a pretty great price.
@@fraziermichaeljim in nebraska so that may be the move for me since Im tryna go there this week
Very small compared to LAX, but beautiful art deco design airport.
We always use the Flyaway out of Van Nuys. It has never let us down.
I live in Los Angeles and LAX is my home airport and I’ve never had a problem with the airport and I travel internationally every year and the time going around the horseshoe takes no where near 1 hour. It usually takes about 20 minutes to get from terminal 1-7 going around the horse shoe
I used to work at LAX for 6 years and I can def confirm it has taken up to an hour to get out of the airport and to my car when I’m off 😭
I come from England many times and the Immigration and Customs is 3RD World.
@@robertcroft8241that’s every airport in the u.s now
As someone who lives in Orange County and flies out of lax, I couldn’t agree with you more. The horseshoe is unforgiving if you miss the turn for your garage (if you can even get a spot), forcing you to traverse the whole horseshoe again. All the lines for coffee and food is always long so I end up getting a pre-made sandwich at a Hudson shop. The only reason I’d pick lax over John Wayne airport or Ontario international is because lax has the most flight options (non stop flights) and are usually cheaper.
Yup. I tolerate LAX often due to the price and number of direct flights
Question if you hire a private town car service to you pick up is that at the LAXit line or is it somewhere else? Going to LA for the first time in October and we don’t land until 9 pm.
Thank you for this Chris. We land in LAX on August 1st & have a 7 hr layover before we fly to Seattle. Nice to know how long it is going to take to get through Customs/Security. We will try & stay longer at international terminal if there is more space. We may even walk to In&out. Very good information.
Thanks Cathy! 7 hour layover. Oof. You've definitely got plenty of time to head to In N Out
Walk? No one walks in LA!
If you're arriving there's no way to the departues post-security area which is the nice part - you have to exit to the street. You could go upstairs to departures outside-security, but that sucks - overcrowded, little seating and crummy expensive food. The outside-security areas pretty much blow in all the terminals. Go to In-N-Out and watch the planes land.
Awesome job Chris.
Love your videos! One thing I was gonna say is that a celeb walked right behind you and I think you didn’t notice 😆 Jojo Siwa, she looked in the camera too! How cool 😎 at around the 6.00 mark of the video she appears
Last year when I was on a layover at LAX we traveled in the domestic terminal and then we realized that we had to make it to the international terminal in order to make it to South Korea, we were completely lost until we asked an airport staffer. She asked us to go through underground tunnel that is a mile long. It was exhausting. The most absurd part is that we had to go to some sort of basement that had construction going on and go through this elevator with multiple floors. We essentially had Gamble and choose which floor is the correct one. Thank goodness it’s the right one. We then have to travel through more tunnels and overpasses with multiple pathways we had to choose. Finally we are at are at the international terminal to spend and hour finding our gate. Thank god the LAX staff were helpful because if not, we would have been stranded in Los Angeles.
As LAX is my home airport, I never had to connect there .... That sounds like a hot mess but thankfully, the employees were helpful and you made your flight. Hopefully with the people mover, the transfer between terminals will be easier.
As a European I think LAX is one of the coolest places to visit
There's more excitement to it than negative
Great video Chris. Next time I'm stuck at LAX I'm for sure going to go to that in n out.
I've flown out of LAX 3 times this year and haven't had bad experiences. It's really not bad (:
Good to hear you don't have my luck :)
then you have no standards
Covid. Crowds are way down.
@@australianpatriot I must not have standards, either. Or perhaps I'm just not a complicated traveler who complains about everything.
LOL it's crowded because everyone and their mamas are traveling.@@shrimpflea
0:26 I think you got them reversed. Top is departure and bottom is arrival.
My bad!
Interestingly Orlando's new terminal C is gonna have departures on the bottom level and arrivals on the top (or at least that's what the plan was in a video I saw...)
Like the Red Zone versus the White Zone in Airplane! which was filmed at LAX Terminal 3 in 1979.
One minor correction: the upper level is for departures, and the lower level is for arrivals. Other than that, yeah, LAX can either be a nightmare to navigate or (if you get super lucky and know your way around) smooth-ish.
I will see it for myself soon as I am flying into LAX. Thanks Chris.
Nice time-lapse footage 👍
Awesome video! I'd also add the airports in San Diego, Palm Springs, and Santa Barbara, as the odd good deal can be found sometimes and L.A. can still be a great 2-3 day side trip from any of those cities.
Thanks for the additional airports!
nice video ! thanks from sweden
Hi Chris I'm a big fan, your attention to detail, knowledge and enthusiasm are second to none.
Thanks S!
how did you get the radio signals from both the planes and the atc towers? It's really cool
I must add, nice and chill gate areas with great food options, seating, tables, and charging areas for your devices. I traveled domestic with 3 kids, bathrooms were clean, water dispensers, shops, no complaints. Security was a breeze.
The undisputed LA and San Diego MASTER. Your videos helped immensely with our trip to these cities- love your content- thank you!
Thanks David!
Chris, few tips:
1. The G line Aviation shuttle is probably the best shuttle at LAX, its supposed to run every 7 minutes, 24/7. It's usually around ever 10=12 minutes; because it is a LAX shuttle it gets to use the priority bus lane in arrivals which has almost 0 traffic, never takes more than 8-9 minutes to go from T1-T7 in that lane.
2. T7 (United) and at a stretch T6 (Alaska) is pretty fast to get to, just take the shortcut right after T1 either upstairs or downstairs.
3. Depending on the time of day, it is much faster to go to arrivals in the morning (downstairs) and departures during the evening (upstairs) regardless of if you're actually arriving or departing. Each terminal has 3 or 4 escalators/elevators to switch between arrivals and departures.
Thanks for the tips Jared!
When I visited LA back in 2012, it was my first time flying outside of Norway, and to be honest, I actually found the transit at Newark airport to be way more stressfull. Mainly cause I struggled to find the right gate, and each employee I asked, gave me different directions. Also, I guess I was lucky with my timing, cause the lines at LAX were way shorter than those at Newark.. I'll definitely keep your tips from this video in mind tho, if I get a chance to visit again in the future :)
Newark sucks too :)
Newark is so busy because of all the travelers heading to NYC.. it's "cheaper" and the train takes you straight to Manhattan from there.
@@JuiceFHN35 Ah, I see. That makes sense :)
Hi Chris! Very well said. On point as usual. I have been flying in and out of LA for thirty years, and I try really hard NOT to do LAX! LOL! But sometimes you have to. Thank you so much! Enjoy your week. CAB😍
Thanks CAB! Yup.. that's about how I feel about LAX :)
Hi Chris, question....how come I don't hear much about the Burbank Airport being used?? Why it's not as popular especially with the overcrowding at LAX??? What's it like????
Hi T -- I think Burbank is just too far North in Los Angeles for most people -- that's certainly the case for me, so I've never flown out of Burbank
Burbank is great. Little traffic. Unfortunately not many flights and usually more expensive.
The good thing is that most of the negative issues regarding LAX will be fixed in a couple of years.
All the terminals are getting renovated and/or expanded
All the terminals will finally be connected behind security.
The People Mover will make accessing the airport more convenient
LAX will add three new terminals/concourses: Concourse 0, terminal 9, and an addition to the relatively new Mid Field West terminal.
They arw also adding significant amount of landscape greenery within the horseshoe and possibly a water feature too.
Everything should be ready by the 2028 Olympics except for the new terminal 9.
Agreed that LAX is slowly getting better
Terminal 1 is the only terminal not connected inside security. They need a tunnel to connect to terminals 2 and 3 though.
question this is gonna be my first time traveling when you get lost do they help you out? cause I heard they dont
I'm sure you'll find someone friendly enough to help you if you ask nicely

Good job. Then I thought halfway through or so that they rest would be minor. But it kept on delivering useful points. Cool. Then solutions presented at the end, alternatives. Nice.
Thanks Bill!
I always just take the parking spot shuttle to the Sepulveda location to go to In N out next door for burgers and plane spotting, I tip them a buck and they never question it, and its way less walking required.
I'll be arriving at LAX after a looooooooong journey from Asia, and I'll be having 2 luggages, a hand carry luggage and my backpack = any advise please of HOW I'm gonna manage to get on the Shuttle to the Ride Share place??? It looks like it's made for domestic passengers who just have a backpack!!! Please advise, thanks.
Hi Jessica -- there are luggage carts in baggage claim of the international terminal.. you can load up your luggage and wheel it out to the shuttle stop
I just started working at LAX a week ago and watching this video was fun to watch.
I’m from the east coast (NYC) but have family in LA and I fly out to there often. I’ve had quite a few close calls in missing flights because of the insane traffic. It’s nerve racking. Learnt my lesson and I leave for the airport extra early.
How much time do I need for transfers from one international flight to another at Tom Bradly ?
At least 3 hours
Try connecting from one international flight in heathrow to another in under forty minutes.
@@SYDAirlineEnthusiast I have and it's possible. But you have to run !
I am from Canada and I found LAX Domestic Wing Airport very calming than the Vancouver Domestic Wing Airport. I had extreme anxiety on times I flew out of Vancouver, I had extreme anxiety. However this before Covid. I haven't traveled since.
Just flew in and out of LAX and it wasn't bad, but I chose to fly on Tuesdays in January for just that reason-and with a good price. PS, had to change my flight the day before on United economy and they charged me all of 30 cents. I was shocked. I am hoping the People Mover and the CONRAC car rental facility will make things easier and should ease up on the horseshoe jam. I asked my shuttle driver if he will lose his job. He just threw his hands up. Last summer I found it cheaper to fly into Vegas and rent a car there and drive to LA. Summertime both flight and rental in Vegas were half the price of LA. Saved almost $1000. Keep them coming, the vids are full of useful info. Thanks.
Was that Jojo Siwa in the pink after the luggage carts? Accidental celeb sighting
Thought the same!
Could be. It is LA after all! :)
Lol most random thing I’ve seen on RUclips lol any kid under 10 would go nuts. I didn’t even notice her lol
The bottom level is for Arrivals and the top level is for Departures.
Nice timelapse footage! I hate LAX so much that I always prefer road trips instead. Fly to Las Vegas (30 mins to get to airport, 1 hour ahead of time, 1 hour flight, 1 hour to get to Strip, or drive four hours.) And I live 3 miles away
Thanks Jeff! Agreed!
Might be going to LA in the fall but I think I will fly into Burbank instead, might mean more lay over but sounds like a way easier time!
If your destination is closer to Burbank airport then it totally makes sense!
It would be nice if you can do a review from your opinion, aspect about Harry Reid International Airport Las Vegas.
I'll consider it next time I'm flying thru there
lol I definitely got off my friend's car and walked to my terminal. I was running very late, but the clear signage and helpful staff made sure I got there on time. I remember my flight was LAX to Orlando and the difference was stark. Good to know it's getting a people mover from the Metro, but then again, the Metro is not even that convenient to use.
Thank you so much! I am picking my brother up there tomorrow at 5:30pm and never been there, I will probably get stuck in the horseshoe! Maybe I will pick up at In n Out instead! Safe Travels😃
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
I use LAX at least every other month and never seem to have many problems or hassles. Quick in and out. I guess im just lucky. Still prefer LAX over any other SoCal airport for the connections
Yep. I flew into Long Beach, and it sucks. John Wayne is okay, but lax airport is awesome.
It's nearly impossible to grab the rental car shuttle from terminal 7. By the time they reach the end they are full or can barely fit another 3-4 people on the bus. There is no organized line either so depending on where the shuttle driver stops, you could be at the end of the line or the start.
If you have global entry is it still just as bad with customs or a lot faster I would imagine??
Global Entry makes it WAY better
MUCH quicker. I just used Global Entry a few weeks ago and it was the quickest I've ever got through the passport control area.
Is it worth it to go to the In N Out by LAX just to eat and watch the planes even if you aren’t flying into LAX? Is the traffic not worth it? Thanks!
Probably depends where you're coming from. But I think it's a cool spot 😀
From Long Beach Airpot to Santa Monica. Thanks!
To get out of horseshoe, you have to be in a rare crazy traffic situation for an hour delay.
Usually it will be 15-20 mins to drive around the entire horseshoe , make sure you keep left and do not take the parking entrances (which again are on the left lane). For departure flights, pls add an hour to what it usually be for other airports. Traffic is bad at the horseshoe section just in front of TBIT, and i have been dropped in front of domestic terminals. From there you have to walk to TBIT.
Also, the security lines can go really long in no time. so pls make sure you have ample time for such unforeseen events.
Have flown in and out of LAX since 1973, have picked up and dropped off, and have never had any problems. Smooth. When the people mover is activated later this year. its going to be even smoother. Disagree totally with yellow.
Thanks for sharing your perspective David. I am looking forward to the people mover!
Whenever we fly out of LAX we use the LAX Flyaway out of Union Station. Parking is $8 a day and the bus ride per passenger one way costs just under $10.
I’ve flowed out of and into LAX all my life, I’ve never been stuck, never taken an hour around the loop, never taken 2 hours to go through the facets as you say. People just don’t do their basic homework. LAX is simple to navigate, it’s a loop…Terminals 1, 2, 3 Bradley (International), 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. I’ve seen people come out of Bradley and go wait for a shuttle to go to T3, when T3 is right there next door, a 5 minute walk 😂, so again, most people complicate their lives by not doing their basic homework, then they blame the airport.
Thank you.

Last week was the first time using the LAX-it bus to catch an Uber. Traffic is still horrible 🤔 also a few years ago i parked at lot C and got a parking ticket for No front License Plate 🤬 Long Beach is my Alternative 🤗 and would pay a little extra to not travel thru LAX 🤣
A very good video !! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
Thanks Spark!
8:11 What keeps prices low?
I haven't been to Los Angeles since 2016 and just recently took a trip to LA in May and realized the rental car shuttles now drop you off downstairs at Arrivals instead of upstairs at Departures so you'll need to catch an elevator or escalator upstairs to check in for your flight. I guess that's one way of eliminating some of the traffic upstairs at Departures.
It kind looks like the one here but time difference
Hyatt House/Hyatt Place was amazing! We stayed there this week. The room was super clean. The beds were comfortable. And best of all a full breakfast free of charge in the morning! I paid 283 for a suite with a kitchen, dining area, living room with a couch that turns into a bed and a bedroom with two queen beds. I wish you could share pictures because this hotel was fabulous.
We took an Uber to enterprise and then our first stop was Randy’s donuts! Oh my gosh I still dream of these and it’s been a week!
Awesome Jessica!
Detailed video about the cons of LAX, we can figure out how to overcome them thanks to your video! I rarely try to connect thru LAX because I'd instead fly from SD to the east coast and connect in Chicago or DC, then fly to Europe. Seems useless to be in LAX for say 4 hr layover when it takes 2.5 hours to drive there from where I live
For sure Kristina!
I don't know why, but the thumbnail and the title tells me this video is going to blow up.
But to comment, aside from the traffic, I honestly don't think LAX is that bad. I've flown out of there a few times in my life and it's been quite enjoyable. Though for me, it's just the thrill of riding an airplane that makes the whole travel experience awesome!
Thanks for your perspective sleepstudent
@@YellowProductions Haha, thanks. I think just the construction is really slowing down traffic and it looks realllly ugly.
I totally agree. All in all, I love being at LAX, cuz I know I'm about to travel. That said, having visited other airports, I know LAX is a crappy airport and that we can do better.
I stayed at the Hyatt at LAX and walked to In N Out for dinner and did some evening plane spotting.
Nice!
LAX In-&-Out is the best!!
Mmmmm
I think we can blame the cars waiting in the unloading area that think they can park there for 15 to 20 min. No police are in force of the pick up areas.
For sure Bert! The curb side seems really poorly enforced. At San Diego Airport the cops at the curbside are hyper vigilant to keep people moving
We are getting around to fixing this up. We are getting a people mover in the next couple of years, which will further reduce the traffic. We are also getting airside connectors for the terminals too
I'm ready for the fix up! 😉
What about the LAX-IT mess .... It is challenging getting luggage up the steps on the buses. I often have to resort to the costly Uber Black to pick me up at the terminal.
How’s the June Gloom been this year?
Gloomy
Yes, fly from San Diego or Orange County if you're anywhere near there. San Diego has flights to London, Tokyo, Munich and several Canadian cities.
LAX, the Livid Abysmal eXperience.
This is probably why we’re driving from Montana to California staying in Vegas 1 night at treasure Island and going to my grandmas house in Temecula so excited
I flown out of lax many times I love it
Also all the rental car locations are off property so you have to catch a shuttle. However they are building a consolidated car rental facility which will be connected by the new Peoplemover.
LAX not being designed for the number of people it currently handles of not being able to handle connection/transits easily really goes to show how short-sighted the airport's builders were.
Great video, though!
Thanks Carl 😀
True, and the horseshoe doesn't allow for easy expansion. I still remember when they added the upper level of the horseshoe in time for the 1984 Olympics. That's also when they added the TBIT.
LAX was built in 1928. How could they have known?
I was planning on booking my flights to Hawaii from Ontario through Hawaiian airlines but they only operate 1 plane and the airfare is very expensive compared to lax airfare
I went into the tunnels looking for food once, came out in another terminal on the OTHER SIDE of security and had to go through security again to get something to eat... lol
Doh!
I agree that maneuvering LAX can be a pain. San Diego Airport is going through remodels at terminal 1. Airport staff said you should give yourself 2 hours 🙄
Can’t agree more!
You are sooooo good.
LAX is just JFK with 🌴🌴 trees. 😂🙄 Even getting from a domestic terminal arriving flight to an international flight departing out of TBIT is INSANE!!!! I NEVER drive in/out of LAX, EVER!
He's right about the TBIT though, it's DEFINITELY huge and roomy.
For me, THey made us go on the plane which was gonna be a 15 hour flight. aftrr an hour of nothing they told us to get off the plane and find a new flight. This was a problem since we had a connection flight and didnt live in the US, so we had to stay an extra 2 days in Los Angeles just to find a flight back home.
My number one complaint, the Metro drops you off a mile from the Terminals. Go to Paris or London and you haven’t multiple mass transit options, in the terminals. Means you pay for parking and fight the traffic or get a taxi/Lyft and fight the traffic. Either one truly sucks.
For sure G!
Barcelona and Rome have direct subways. I believe Paris also has one, but I took a cab there.
TBH, One of the biggest annoyances at LAX is trying to connect International to International. In most world airports, you can stay airside but not at US Airports. You have to go through US Immigration and customs even if you are leaving LAX on another International flight within a few hours. Foreign visitors also need an ESTA or Visa for the USA even if we have no intention of staying in the US and are just connecting International to International. It is crazy!
I believe that is a federal policy on how these international transfers are done. Doesn't matter which airport you landed.
It's all US airports that do this for all international arrivals that are connecting either domestically or international. LAX is my home airport but experienced this in Seattle, JFK, Boston, Philly and Dallas. It is very annoying. For foreigners making connections to other international flights, it is ridiculous to require the ESTA if you are only connecting. "sigh"
I would say I’ve flown into or out of LAX about a 100 times in my life, and watching your video makes me feel that I’ve been astoundingly lucky. I have encountered the kind of traffic you’re describing around the loop, but maybe ten percent of the time. My usual routine means LAX is the destination, not a transfer spot, and I usually walk right out of the terminal to the Flyaway buses, which are inexpensive and frequent, and I’m usually on my way out of the airport and onto the 405 in a short amount of time. 🤷♂️
Or perhaps I've been astoundingly unlucky :)
@@YellowProductions I guess but my experience is that you’re right that LAX is one of the most hated U.S. airports. I’ve heard that all my life, even though I’ve always found it to be fine (except for the food options and prices).
I agree. And it usually takes about 20 minutes to srive around the horseshoe. Rarely does it take an hour. Maybe on certain holidays it might take twice as long.
Also, there were two shortcuts so you wouldn't need to go all the way around the entire horseshoe if you were driving. However, those shortcuts have been closed since the construction of the people mover..
Here's a tip. If you do premium ride-share(the more expensive ones like Uber black or alto) they will pick you up from the terminal you won't have to take this shuttle to LAX-IT.
Thanks for the double tip Sherman :)
Ive flown american airlines to LAX for a connection flight to Orlando, and everytime the flight is either delayed or cancelled. This airport is so unlucky
LAX Valet Service made my trip to LAX very easy!! No shuttle needed! They meet you directly at the terminal and take you car! I highly recommend it! :)
Thanks for the tip
NICE CAMEO by JOJO SIWA at 6:04 lol not sure if anyone noticed
Tbh the only thing that actually sucks about LAX is the lack of an airside shuttle/tram between terminals, thank god they're installing an APM soon
I've used LAX once (and only once) as port of entry from Asia to connect to my flight to Ontario Airport in CA. That was not a good experience at all trying to navigate from one terminal to another.
After that terrible experience, I started using SFO instead as port of entry, which is a much more pleasant airport to navigate because of the air-train.
Credit is due to Delta Airlines for a multi-year refurbishment of Terminals 2 and 3. The T3 portion opened this spring and though I haven't been there yet, the pictures online suggest a modern, spacious experience.
Looking forward to the remodel!
Awesome video. We’re leaving out of LAX this summer. We live about an hour away. Four adults four bags checking in, what do you recommend? Super shuttle or Lyft? A little nervous that the Lyft that will arrive won’t actually be big enough for all of us and our luggage. Also looks like Lyft won’t drop us off right at the terminal? Whereas super shuttle will? Don’t know if you have any answers for me but regardless, this video is super helpful! Thank you!
If you do super shuttle then I'd charter a dedicated one. Not one that picks up other people on the way. Side note: You can request a Lyft XL or an Uber XL so you get a big car
@@YellowProductions thank you!!!
Uber and Lyft drop off directly at the terminals. LAX-IT, which Chris discusses in the video is for pick up. I fly out of LAX several times a year and use Uber or Lyft as my mode of transit to the airport.
LAX used to be clean. Looked like a mall, with lots of stores and restaurants. It was an airport that belong in the first country that we are supposed to be. I was just there about a week ago and now the bathrooms are dirty, not once I saw a janitor cleaning. The tables had layers of dirt, which means no one ever wipes them. We pay a tax when we buy airlines tickets that is supposed to be designated to cleaning and sanitation. We Californians pay a lot of taxes to have a dirty airport. We even saw a homeless inside the bathroom by the luggage claim area when we returned home.
Yeah... LAX has really gone down hill
Correction......
Top level is for departures and Bottom level is arrivals
I'm sorry to bust your rant, but I must be one of those people that doesn't hate LAX.
My wife and I have been traveling via LAX since 1996 and have rarely experienced the things you mention.
Especially not the "1 hour to get through the horseshoe"
Only exception was the first flight into the US coming from Europe (Amsterdam) after 9/11 in 2001, but that was to be expected.
In our experience the airport is what it is, an airport. It doesn't need to be super nice or in a nice neighbourhood, it just needs to be functional and it is.
Finding and getting on to your shuttle bus to the rental car company is easy, and a short ride.
The only thing I agree on is the fact that the baggage trollies are not free, that is annoying but most people nowadays use suitcases with wheels so no big issue.
I guess if you search long enough you will find something to complain about eventually.
LAX is my home airport and I quickly realized what a dump it is when I traveled to other airports, the exception being TBIT
Exactly!
Do you prefer SFO?
Good video. I avoid LAX like the plague. For all the reasons you mention...also the car rental folks are the most unfriendly. Hotels in the area sucks. They are busy and lack attention to detail.
I live in N. CA so I don't have to fly LAX. Burbank and Santa Ana are so much easier to get in/out and friendlier folks. Hotels are nicer too.
On international and cross country flights you may not have options unless you transit through another airport.
Because you are at LAX you must be headed to an international locale?
Thanks Darryl!
add a monorail drop off from some new parking deck rite
