  • So you've brought home a new constrictor and not entirely sure how to start handling, when to start feeding, or how to safely start handling sessions? Well we have an opportunity to go over those things with our new addition to the family, our yet unnamed male marble platinum reticulated python from Brassman Reptiles Jeremy Turgeon. Please be sure to keep up with @ReptileTalkPodcast with Jermey and Rob Christian formerly of @NewEnglandReptile and Jeremy's channel @BrassManReptiles , as he's not only a very skilled reptile keeper and breeder but also a talented musician, thus the name. Huge thank you out to Jeremy for this awesome retic.

    an underrated point: LEAVE THE TAIL ALONE WHEN THEY ARE GOING INTO THEIR SAFE PLACE. You will undo all the threads you just built with that animal in that session.

    I absolutely love this channel. My first snake was a retic 😅 before I bought the little guy I watched several of your videos. I appreciate your lessons and really know what you are talking about. You're right up there with the best of the best in the reptile community. Keep fighting the good fight 🫡

    So not so Silent Bob was the most scared. one I have seen you handle. This guy was great to watch. He is a gorgeous snake, but all your snakes are beautiful. I also love watching all the snakes behind being active.

    My friend has retics that get spicy with him from time to time but are totally sweet with people they don't know. The one loves kids. I think their deal with their owner is where's my food? My water needs changed! He is their service human and other humans are friends. The only time my Boa gives me attitude is when I tell her the parakeet is not a snack.

      People say you are just a tree that feeds them. My Boa gives kisses and nose boops you. She knows and likes me. There are people she likes and goes to. Other people she'll S up and back away. Snakes are smart and will show you that they like you. We aren't just trees to them.

    I want to say that I absolutely understand the difference you mentioned, between letting him figure it out, versus just grabbing him like you’ve advised previously. You were actually just letting the snake tell you what he needed - That was handling perfection my friend ❤

    58% humidity? 80°? 😳🥵You don't have to EVER worry about me showing up fir a visit. I would die! If it's over 70° I'm heading for the water. River, lake, pool, puddle. It doesn't matter. .. as long as i can 🏊‍♂️ swim, I'm happy.

    What about handling during breeding season? Is it still easy to tell their demeanor?

    • @IntrepidExotics
      @IntrepidExotics  Месяц назад

      It varies animal to animal, some will never change around breeding, others will just lose their minds. That's one thing I've been looking for is a really tough snake to handle so can really demonstrate how to work with one that's actively trying to bite, but there's not many big snakes around that are really hard to handle.
