Hi good day, I have BMC airfilter installed in my bike.. can i use K&N cleaning/recharger kit on my BMC aifilter for cleaning? Cause we have that k&n cleaning kit on our car.. so i was just wondering of it safe to use? Thanks for the response

Ottima spiegazione. Io inserirei alla fine del video di smaltire l'acqua del risciacquo del filtro in maniera appropriata, non usare il tombino della fognatura o lo scolo del lavandino. Dentro vi è acqua e olio (inquinante). Smaltite i liquidi pericolosi presso un centro autorizzato di raccolta!

We recommend using original BMC kits only, studied to do not damage filter and guarantee a long life.

I am unable to buy bmc oil. Local dealer is out. Im sure K&N oil will work? I have a old bottle of it

Why does it have to be in first gear
It’s a precaution for accidental vehicle movement. It is in no way related to the regeneration process.
The Box says "Oil on Both Sides", the video says "oil on admission side only". Where do we stand?

The oil for the filter should only be put on one side.

Why not clean and oil both sides
You do clean both sides though, just oiling is on one - the side that catches any dirt from the incoming air. The other side should already be letting 'clean' air out (or into the engine - depends how you look at it), so I guess additional oil would only reduce the air flow, without any other positive effect.
Actually just had a look at the box of my cleaning kit - it says to oil both sides of the filter :S

after only 2 years and 20,000 km on the motorcycle, I wanted to clean it. ( That would be the first cleaning since I bought it )
When removing the filter from the housing, it literally disintegrated and fell into the smallest pieces.

I was searching for the musical BMC not this.
So basically it takes an entire day to clean one filter I think I’ll just buy sprint air filter and use compressed air instead of waiting all day
Yep not worth the time😪 it only like 5% better than a afe air filter
First time using the kit followed everything as described, but the suction side of the air filter still looks dark. I thought applying the cleaning agent and washing them will make it look clean like new. For the 3x same money I could have bought a new one instead. Not satisfied.
I was thinking of buying a BMC filter. But this seems to be too much work! it seems that it is easier to stick with OEM and replace the OEM filter when needed. Hope BMC will make the cleaning easier ... something like water hosing the filter and let it dry.
the oil is what traps the dirt
You can just hose it with garden hose and then put detergent on it and hose again after 10 min. No problem at all. Then dry and oil. Even easier of you buy a spare filter.
