    Also changed to DJI, largely for the reasons you talk about. But one thing that also helped VERY much is that it doesnt empty the battery with the camera laying shutoff. Too many times I have just grabbed the gopro camera and went off, just to find that the battery is very low or empty. That doesn't seem to happen with the DJI.

    Great video dude! I jumped from GoPro to DJI last year, but in 2 minds regarding the DJI mic 2. Is it worth investing in one, what settings do you use?

    • @DSR1YT
      @DSR1YT  3 месяца назад +2

      Thanks mate. I would say yes 💯 worth it for me as I use it with my DSLR cameras as well.
      I would still recommend it but if you’ve just got a DJI camera then you would only need to buy the single mic for £89 and you’re away.
      Currently I run the mic at gain -12 as it is just offset of my mouth in my helmet. I have the mic upside down so it doesn’t pick up my breathing so much in between me talking. 32bit activated. No noise cancelling on, just standard. And I have it record on the mic as well as the camera just in case.
      I turn the camera and mic on. Camera picks up the mic and auto connects. I press record and I’m away. I also use the voice command whilst riding which helps save battery life on the camera.
      Hope this helps 😁.
      I’ll do a full video on it all soon. Just needs to stop raining 🤣🤙

      @@DSR1YT Just an add on to that. If you buy the single standalone mic 2 transmitter, you CANNOT change the transmitters gain setting. You have to have access to a receiver that you can pair it to to drop the gain settings. You can buy a combo of 1 x tx/ 1 x rx for £189 direct from DJI. Worth every penny

    I had a GoPpro Hero 7 black for years, it was a good camera and did me a few years. The rain got into the mic adapter and bolloxed it.
    I bought the DJI Action 3 and it's a great camera, apart from finding adapters that worked with it. I've bought an Insta Ace Pro too, great camera with bluetooth connectivity.
    In comes the DJI Action 4 and the mic 2. Gamechangers. Won't be going back to GP until they have the quick release mounts and stop ripping people off with expensive adapters for mics. They must have lost so many customers this last year, surely it's time to up their game?

  • @thomasmccarthy92
    @thomasmccarthy92 2 месяца назад +1

    could you not just remove the camera from the media mod while its attached to the helmet same as you did when you took it off the mount?
    if you have to remove it from the media mod anyway way take it of the mount.

    • @DSR1YT
      @DSR1YT  2 месяца назад +1

      The media mod doesn’t have its own mounting arms. It uses the go pros arms to protrude through the bottom of the mod. So you can’t remove the mod without taking it off and pushing the mounting arms up through the mod again.
      It’s a complete faff and I can’t believe go pro haven’t sorted it out yet. All it really needs is the media mod to have its own mounting arms on the bottom and then you could slide the go pro in and out without taking it all apart.

    • @thomasmccarthy92

    I still use the Hero 7 on my helmet. In spite of it being so old and having multiple updates, it still freezes randomly.
    Battery life is pathetic.
    Have to use that atrociously big audio adapter which is such a cash grab. And it increases the size. And one has tobhse all types if mics and then a TRS to TRRS adapter. Major hassle.
    And if i ever stop somewhere, i have to carry my helmet cos i cant leave my helmet on ky motorcycles kest someone steal the gopro.
    I am now really interested in the Action 4.
    Magnetic mount is so easy. I can remove it from the helmet is easy and the position isnt affected and i dont have to fiddle with thise awful screws.
    Battery life seems to be so much better.
    Much smaller than the current gopros while having bigger batteries. C'mon.
    And the best part for me is the bluetooth audio with the mic 2. I mean the bkuetooth mic 2 is similarly priced as the media mod but offers so much more functionality and ease of use.
    I am planning to replace my Hero 7 (i use it on my helmet) and the Hero 10 which I use for vlogging so footage looks same across.

    Insta360 and DJI are destroying GoPro. Nick Woodman is worth $1.1B so he could give two sh!ts if the company is successful now or in the future. There stock is a $1.50. I give them a year and they will be bankrupt. When your only product has essentially remained unchanged for years and is still plagued with issues, they are bound to fail.

    • @Whatreally123
      @Whatreally123 2 месяца назад

      No. GoPro destroying GoPro. I have the Hero 5, 7 and 10. The 5 is well useless now. I still use the 7 on my helmet but i have to use the idiotic and obvious cash grab audio adapter. In spite of so many updates, still freezes and footage is ruined and unrecoverable. I bought a hero 10 for vlogging needs but it also needs that media mod or the old audio adapter. Unnecessary extra money and even the Hero 10 freezes randomly. And not to mention the additional purchase of mics, adapters etc.
      I am now seriously thinking about the Action 4 andthe DJI mic 2 which can connect via bluetooth. And the camera itself can connect via the magnetic mount. So much easier.
      GoPro haven't innovated much in the last few years and haven't offered value and not fixed known issues for years now. No wonder they're struggling
