Fam, you are missing the point that the “average consumer” looking to buy this camera most likely has a good camera, either an iPhone or a DSLR, but is looking for a more portable dedicated solution to daily vlogging/content creation without having to break the bank on super expensive accessories or lug around a huge camera plus accessories. You said that the camera plus the tripod is like lugging around a police baton so what do you think lugging a even larger camera plus accessories around is like? A fccn sledge hammer? 🔨 The professionals with the huge cameras are even looking for this camera because of the portability, video quality and features. This camera hits it right on the nail for all content creators.
@@Fredo.heavyy Fam, do I do reviews for affiliate link clicks like you? Show me one video of me doing that. You are the problem, sitting up there contradicting yourself and lying for money. You know exactly who this is for, MOST CREATORS. There's literally NO BETTER OPTION. Small, dedicated, amazing quality, feature packed! I had a little bit of a lighting situation today with my iphone because the area was shaded, pocket osmo 3 solves that easy. Now you telling me I should just buy all the attachments needed plus the light on top of the hundreds of dollars spent on my iPhone. Like please show me a better option when it comes to having the FULL PACKAGE in such a small form factor at this price point...
@@davidpoo66 Yeah and the phones are always running out of storage then you have other personal photos and videos you don' want to mix with content to take up more space..It's just more of a hassle when you think about it. The OSMO Pocket 3 solves all my problems
Gaslighting at its finest for clicks, smh. He knows what he's doing is wrong but to some content is content. $146 for a gimbal to slap a $899.99 at minimum iPhone on is a better solution, stop the madness. What if they don't have a iPhone? And before you ask which seem like your only rebuttal, yes I own one and considering getting a second.
Dude, not sure if you are trolling or you‘re just on the wrong track here. First: The Sony isn’t a „fixed cost“ camera either. All the things you need to buy for the pocket, you need for the Sony as well… plus a gimbal because Sony sucks at stabilization… plus a mic solution… plus a lens. Second: Why would you even buy a gimbal for talking head stuff? This is not the typical usecase for the pocket 3. Third: Why would you use a different mic than the one that comes with the creator combo?
I don't quite agree. This camera would be a great idea for daily vlogging, provided the weather is suitable. It is not aimed at current vlog creaters like Casey. It appears to be aimed at people that are starting out. It makes it accessible to new vloggers which means more people starting what they want to do. Personally, my use will be travel and walking videos but that is because I have a few channels already
I’m a beginner got one a few weeks ago. The internal battery is more than adequate for my purposes so it fits in my pocket easily. If I need more I can carry my brick and charge it when I’m not using it. The tripod can stay in my bag if I’m not using it, I would use the same tripod for every camera, and yes, it is best to buy a good quality tripod. The case seems fine, the device clips in and out easily, if I want more protection I can put it in a bag. I can’t understand why people don’t like the case. I like the way I can take it out of my pocket and start using it in a couple of seconds. The biggest limitation for me is the lack of a decent zoom. But I agree with your main point, it is specific use, if I had to get rid of the iPhone 15, the gopro, or the pocket there wouldn’t be a moment of hesitation, and the pocket will always be carried in addition to one of the others.
As one of the “shills” I disagree with your viewpoint. I’ve used my pocket 3 on commercial jobs, BTS, vlogging, talking head, b cam. It’s crazy how versatile it is. I rather not tell people what they need or don’t need cause we all have different needs and different levels of capabilities and creativity.
I wouldn’t rope you in with the “shills” you field test products in great detail and you have an incredible cinematic prowess. We’re both two guys on the internet putting in work for content on a platform of over opinionated anklet bitters. You know how this games played which is why you’ve seen much success, I’m just here playing catch up 🎯
@@Fredo.heavyy I’m just pulling your chain brother. I do think this a realistic message to people though. That a lot of people blow money on things hoping they’ll create with it.. just for it to collect dust. They have to hold themselves accountable though. I hope I can inspire people to get out and do mroe and to stop being lazy, creating excuses, or being scared to try. Just hard to squeeze in more content that does that cause there’s only so much time in a month 🙃. Keep doing you brother! We need this type of balance. Create conversations. Everyone needs a different message 🖤⚡️🤘🏽
As with anything, depends on your use case. For an all-around/versatile & portable video camera, there’s simply no better competition atm. And that’s a GOOD thing, because now other companies are going to have innovate to compete with the op3. The closest competitor is the iPhone 15, but that’s nearly twice the cost, while also performing worse in lowlight and stabilization. Obviously as with any camera the osmo has its limitations, but what it’s capable of is well worth the hype imo. It’s a vlogging camera, cinematic camera, action camera, studio camera, and streaming camera all in one small affordable package. Plus if you’re running a one man or woman show, the face tracking is incredibly useful as well. Now sure, if you already have a great camera collection that fits all of those individual use cases, and you don’t mind lugging around a DSLR or mirrorless rig when you travel, then yeah I can see how the op3 can seem useless to that creator. But for many it’s really a one-of-a-kind video and audio solution. The creator combo with the dji mic 2 transmitter even allows you to have 32-bit float standalone audio recorder capability whenever you record with the op3. You’re never limited by your gear, only by your creativity and imagination. And the op3 is one of those rare devices that lets you be creative in any capacity. Sure, you’ll have to get extra accessories to get there, but that’s the same with literally any camera. The biggest downside of something like the zv-e10 too is that you’ll need an external gimbal to be able to use it in all the same scenarios as the op3. But even then the op3 still wins out because if you’re going to the lengths of using a handheld gimbal to achieve smoothness, the op3 can have 4 axis stabilization while gimbals like the insta 360 are only 3 axis, what the op3 has built in already. In terms of features nothing else right now matches it without workarounds. Find me another camera that has a 1 inch sensor, 3 axis stabilization, 4k 120fps slow motion, active face tracking, 32-bit float audio recording, and 10 bit log profile OR hlg, that’s in the same weight/size class & price range as the (creator package) op3. Thats why it’s the best all-in-one solution, that’s why it’s “for idiots” because it’s so good anyone can pick it up and start making great looking content. Of course it’s not without its drawbacks. The digital zoom is next to useless, it’s useless for photos, it has a fixed aperture, and in an action camera setting it’s not the most durable solution. But every camera has it’s trade offs. At the end of the day, to each their own. It all depends on what and how you’re trying to create.
The face tracking feature is a novelty at best to be under used and over shilled. People “blown” away by the DJI pocket Osmo 3 either don’t have it or have affiliate links to sell it. (Low light is not impressive unless you shoot manual) And any camera looks great on auto in the day time, my Sony RX100M3 from 2015? does a better job. There’s a lot of “specs” crammed into the Pocket Osmo 3, it’s a “concept” car of a camera. Which I highlight in the video by using multiple devices, it’s got a niche base of users but very limited by the person. So What we’re witness is another canon G7X mark 3 TREND. I’m not smarter than any of you, I just see future projections of past trends in the market. Sounds like you’re getting the most out of your camera and I respect that 👍🏽
@@Fredo.heavyy that’s not nice 😂, glad I made you type this up. The quality + ease of use + size + potential to be versatile in filmmaking makes this camera one of the kind, so yes people think it’s good 👍. Good job trying so hard to be different than the rest 👍
@@Fredo.heavyyyou are an absolute moron. Calling people idiots, calling them bozos…get that stick out of your ass and learn manners and then learn what product competition is.
I understand where you are coming from, But your thesis argument fails short. It's all up to you on how you set it up, and what you're going to use it for. Im a professional studio photographer, with a FUJIFILM GFX50s MKII. It's a medium-format camera that only is used in the studio. I needed and versatile camera that I could do BTS, talk to my people, small, fast, and easy to create content and share. Yes, I can use my iPhone 13 Pro but I learned to keep my content in a separate device. DJI OSMO POCKET 3 is a small compact camera at the end of the day. Furthermore, the camera is innovative and there is nothing like it on the market. If you're going to the gym to shoot content you need to figure out how to get your shots very quick with minimal gear sir. I appreciate your honesty
The sony zv ev1 is bad for video shooting at night and got a bad stabilisation. He is more expensive and huge. The pocket 3 is unbeatable and no smartphone is near him
@@gurugamer8632 the pocket 3 has really good picture quality even in low light and it is super easy to carry anywhere you go. Lugging around a mirrorless camera with lenses isn’t always convenient. Like when I go hiking or on a motorcycle ride.
I live in a city with very high crime rates. I usually do interviews and I have all my equipment (camera, lights, tripod microphones) that I carry in my backpack. It's heavy and seems to scream "steal all my $12K gear" OP3 fits in a small holster. It comes with an impressive quality microphone. I bought the other one and the results are perfect. I can make a video podcast / Vlogg for under $700 sitting in any cafe with decent lighting. The honesty of your review seems more like a desire to be contrary to attract attention without having solid arguments. The protector you show is $9 and I agree that it is better than the DJI one. Ulanzy has a tripod under $20 with similar features. A 256GB lexar SD is $20. You don't need an extra $200. But also in all cameras the additional costs are much higher. Cages, pro tripods, filters, lenses, microphones, monitors, etc.
You can literally use it as JUST the camera. I recently went on a cruise with mine and I carried it all around the boat with the camera, case and the extended battery (I like it better with it, too small to handle without it in my opinion). It fit fine in my pocket (my DSLR could obviously never). It shoots very smooth, video/audio quality is great. This most definitely is a very good, multi use camera ESPECIALLY for beginners! I get that this camera isn’t what YOU wanted, but it’s a case by case scenario.
I don't mean to hate but I don't think you presented this very well dude. For a start the framing - that light behind you should be the other side of the plant. The FX30 seems out of focus which just makes the DJI autofocus look so much better, like when you put your hand close to it and it immediately focussed on the near object. Also your colour grade is a little strange. DJI looks cold and Sony looks warm. Both fine but surely they should be the same for a proper test. I'm not going to mention the Samsung as it's a potato. Honestly, side by side, with your framing and grading, I prefer the look of the DJI. I know for certain that the Sony is better, being 3x the price and a proper camera, but the way you've presented it has had the opposite effect on me personally. Also sneaking in the Insta360 Flow kinda makes me feel this is an ad for them without it being disclosed - something they have asked creators of your size to do. I'd have stated flat out that this wasn't sponsored. As it is, this is not trustworthy at all.
Incredible. Wish I could offer a Monterey prize for the best comment on this video. You’re almost 100% right, a lot of the visual stuff can be chocked up to user error, didn’t have correct SD card for higher bit rate recording, new apt I’m still setting up, didn’t get the desired equipment in time (hence why I threw the S10E in vs Sony ZV1 mark II) etc etc You obviously know your stuff when it goes to staging, lighting and cameras. Curious what’s your go to gear for talking head videos? Everything else is though is tin hat conspiracy theories. I’ve always considered insta360 products toy for motorcycles guy, so not my niche by any long shot. I’ll remake this video properly once I get over this NYC flu/allergy season, so I guess stay tuned for that 👍🏽
I disagree. I previously used a phone gimbal but disliked having to use my phone as both a camera and for other tasks like notes, quick photos, navigation, and communication. Adding a gimbal to my phone felt like too much. I prefer having a dedicated device solely for shooting videos, and the Pocket 3 performs admirably. I owned three Osmo Pocket 1s (bought secondhand) due to poor battery life, but now with the Pocket 3 and an extra battery attachment (though not the most elegant solution), I can focus on filming without worrying. I set it up on a small tripod, use the built-in DJI mic, and if I need a closer look, I connect wirelessly to my phone to control it remotely. This setup, like the Pocket 1, is the best value for me. I wouldn't go back to using a phone gimbal or even a mirrorless camera; I prefer simplicity. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this product, but my experience has led me in a different direction.
I do days in the life at car meets which I’m mainly filming at night rn using my iPhone 13 Pro Max but looking into getting a camera do u think the dji can thrive at night or should I spend the extra money on a professional looking camera?
well, I don't have one, but I am considering, I think there is 3 ways of looking at this camera, A- people that want a B camera more portable than their DSLR and most likely are not going to rig this up too much. B- people who want something better than an action camera/phone, and most likely wont rig it up that much. C- people who want this as their main camera, and they will end up building a little rig. I agree with you that anyone on category C will benefit more from other alternatives. Myself I am on the A group and having something small and portable always on me, but still using my main camera for any occasion where portability is not an issue... its a very appealing idea.
I have a pocket 3 and couldn't believe you said the battery life is bad? I used it a lot on a recent trip to Japan filming a friends DJ sets and it lasted through both full sets with more than enough battery to spare without the bigger battery attachment even used. I had my FX30 with me on the trip as well and left it at home 99% of the time I went out because of how pocketable the DJI is. I'm editing and uploading footage from both cameras right now and obviously the Sony footage looks better but the quality of the Osmo Pocket 3 is insane for what it is, and after reviewing and editing the footage I'm very glad I picked it up.
Sounds like we're rocking a lot of the same equipment. Im not against the Pocket Osmo 3 don't get lost in the low IQ comments, I use it on the daily and so does my GF for vlogging. It does delivery a good image in the right environments. The fast charging on the Pocket osmo 3 is great too.
I find myself pulling out my pocket 3 vs my Sony a6500 most of the time. Ease of use is important. The last thing I need is more gear to lug around, I just grab and go. I realize the a6500 will get a muuuuch better picture. And dedicating my phone to being the camera when I usually need it for other things just is a hassle. I’m not trying to convince anyone to agree with me, just trying to say, perfect gear means different things for different people.
You’re correct the pocket 3 can be a better alternative to a6500 + lens, when you’re on the go. Is there any channel or “influencer” that inspired you to get the a6500?
@@Fredo.heavyy my friend is a professional videographer and told me the a6500 is a really good camera. I use it for my family vlog channel a lot. Ever since I got the OP3, the a6500 has become a photography camera most of the time; all I want with me is a sling bag, the OP3 fits perfectly in it.
I still think I’m gonna buy a pocket 3, but I honestly like this review. You can tell it was honest. It’s not hate. You give other options and examples. You also think about consumers price range and capabilities. Like it’s refreshing to hear pros and cons and what ad ons might be necessary
Phew, you had me for a starter there Fredo. I’ve just bought a Pocket 3. I was beginning to think I am an idiot. Nah not really. I bought it on the experience I’ve had with the Pocket 2. Some of the best video footage I’ve taken was with that. But you’re right. It’s a case of horses for courses. They’re not suitable for every situation. I would like your opinion on the GoPros. I think they are crap, from hard won experiences. Good honest review. I wonder sometimes what dog many of the reviewers have in the race.
From his first point he was wrong. I did not buy the creator package and I am yet to try to attach any additional battery pack. I use it for content creation and bts. I have no need to increase the size.
I own a small mirrorless for years and I fell in love with the pocket 3 the day I bought it. The pocket 3 exists for a purpose and it fits mine perfectly.
Not hating on you at all, but there is people out there making vlogs and full videos on the pocket 3. Your perspective may be different and a lot of us here follow different creators from different niches. Petter Mckinnon is actually making his recent videos with it for instance. From the niches I follow you can see Roman Fox, Tknorth and Faizal Westcott using both for talking heads and on the field vlogs. Just to give some real case usage besides the hype reviews. I'm planning on buying one. Mostly because I'm a photographer who wants to do video for social. So the small setup even with the add-ons is still cheaper than investing in full camera solutions for video. But as I said, just different perspectives.
I know, I am one of those people. I use the pocket 3 daily to produce content and it does an amazing job. I’m very confused what part of this video where I’m just testing the image quality of 3 devices and telling people not to over spend on new gear is offensive. To me their isn’t a “different” perspective just people who didn’t actually watch the video and chose to be offended over nothing. Pocket 3 is the right camera for a lot of users potentially.
*I truly love my OSMO Pocket 3 and its capabilities. It seems that there may be some deliberate efforts to discredit DJI, possibly by a rival company.*
This guy is a real downer. I’ve had the pocket free and it’s fantastic. I’m currently travelling in Italy. I’ve got the extension battery on it. I can still put it in my pocket without the cover on it and pull it out. Still works great.
As someone who has. Canon R6, Sony A7III, recently I’ve been using the Pocket 3 along with an Insta 360 X4 and my iPhone for filming off road trips and it’s amazing. You can do a lot with the Pocket 3. Just to film!
@@unleashyourfitness that makes no sense, testing it out the box for the average consumer is the whole point of the video. You want a “pro mode” video you can find it elsewhere.
@Fredo.heavyy and that's exactly why this video makes no sense. What's the point of this video if you aren't gonna make a full review or keep it "out of the box" ... going into other accessories like the gimbal or going from a $200 to a $2000 alternative or comparison isn't keeping things "out the box"
so I am looking for a small camera to bring to just music festivals, which do not allow professional equipment and i wouldn't want to carry something like that anyways. Do people feel like this is the best option?
As long as you’re not moshing and nobody smacks it out of your hand you’ll be fine. I still think the insta360 go 3 is a better options for that purpose.
I do social media content creation for brands, real estate agents, medspas and have been doing my content with my phone. I don’t think the Osmo Pocket would be for me but I need another option that isn’t $2k. Do you have any options?
I was a little confused after watching this and ended up in the comments.. and since you just counter every comment with something like "show me a video you filmed" you can look at mine. I shot everything from random stuff with my gf, to client work for a giant company to covering a protest for regional news and no one has ever complained about the video quality. The protest was at extreme low light and when I send in the video they just assumed it was shot on their Sony a7sIII on a gimbal because it looked so good. Of course in most professional cases I shoot with a Sony or the Ronin 4D and the Pocket willl never replace anything besides a wide angel lens but there are so many scenarios where absolutely nothing beats this camera. I faked drone shots for clients with it where drones are not allowed, I just keep it in the backpack when doing stuff with my gf where I would never carry a full setup, I have used it in one hand while transporting my camera gear protected in a case trough the snow in the other hand to not risk my full rig getting damaged but still getting footage you can sneak in the final edit, at the protest I used it to fly under the radar, at shoots I set it up on a monopod or lightstand and set it to track myself for bts shots while filming, in a super tight space where barley one person fits inside I just handed it to the reporter with a quick one minute explanation and got it back with more then passable footage...
Helps that you live in a really beautiful country! Really nice work you've done with the Pocket Osmo 3. Don't get lost in the comments, I use the Osmo 3 everyday for running content and my Gf vlogs with it, its an amazing tool DJI created. but just like you if I'm shooting something truly cinematic I'm reaching for my Sony camera. Thanks for commenting, you are a true cinematographer.
Hi @Fredo not sure why you are getting so much hate but I understand your point. I have a question - I recently got into "photography" and "videography" .. and I love to take lot of cinematic photos and videos when I travel. I am wondering if this is for me. Budget-wise i should be fine but I don't want to throw $$ on this if this is actually meant for vloggers or frequent content creators and isn't for someone like me who travels once 3 months. What's your take/advice?
So right now I own and use both the ZV1 and Pocket osmo 3. I personally find it difficult to get cinematic content of myself on the pocket osmo 3. Id recommend it for taking content of other people or places. The ZV1 is very versatile with its zoom lens and built in ND filter and can be found use for the low. I do everything with ZV1 (talking head, product review, gym content)
Thank you for this! I am older than anyone on RUclips and the DJI pocket 3 did impress me a lot. But it also has its limitations. I have been a Canon user to Nikon User and now, I have the Sony a7c. I don’t want to use my phone (lack of storage and distractions) and I purchased the bulky gimbal for $146. You are so right. However, I returned the gimbal for $146 and kept the DJI Pocket 3. I love it! Thanks again because I am the oldest idiot with the camera. HAHAHAHA!! lol!! Stay tuned as I start sharing everything about my lifestyle! I subscribed!!
I am a daily vlogger (not under this channel) and I use Gopro 12 and Iphone 13 max pro. (I also have a Gopro 11 and an Insta 360 x3, but I don't use them). There are many new cameras out this month like DJI Osmo Action 5, Gopro 13 or Iphone 16 pro max. The only upgrade I'm doing this year is probably just the Iphone 16 pro max as it finally has a 48mpx ultra wide angle camera and not just 12mpx like before. It also has better low light quality than before.
I used to be an iPhone only kinda guy but I stopped upgrading after the 13 pro. I’m still hunting for a daily vlog setup but it won’t be an action camera, the cinematographer in me just can’t stomach it. Gonna go full Casey and get a Canon R8 w/ 15-35mm f2.8
This video is complete nonsense, in my opinion. I bought the stand-alone camera, not the creators combo, the battery runtime is great, the in built mic (audio) is excellent, no need for a extra mic. I run a SanDisk memory card with 256gb at round about 30€, with no issues, because the memory card fits the requirements of the camera. The video quality beats the one from a i-phone easily... This list can go on.
Any criticism this dude gets he completely disregards and becomes defensive. Even if he was objectively wrong. This is the only content I have seen from this dude and it will be the last. Learn how to take feedback 😂
You’re typing out the same CORNY comments as all the other NPC. Nobody care about your opinion, you’re probably clapped and my channel is performing great, I’m up 80k views this month. So all you low IQ, un-original bozo saying the same thing when I had 30 subs doesn’t bother be. Take a lap.
No the 1 and 2 aren't gonna give you same results last the Pocket Osmo 3. Pocket Osmo 3 has improved tracking and better image. This camera was made for rollers.
After watching the video I started second guessing whether I really need to get this P3. But after reading a bunch of these comments, I decided to order one...JUST BECAUSE I have the money to piss away. It'll go good with my fleet of DJI items; Mavic 3 Pro, Air 2S, Mini 4 Pro, and 2 Osmo actions...plus, my non DJI gear: My Canon R8, 2 HOVER X1s. And just for the hell of it - my 2 Galaxy S23s. IT'S ONLY MONEY - SPEND IT, BUY THE GEAR, EAT THE CAKE, FUK THE WORLD!
Comments section kinda ran away with their own ideas, I love the pocket osmo 3 and DJI loves me for all the views I’ve given them. I still own and use the pocket osmo 3 daily, it’s a great camera I’ll end up giving to my GF for vlogging. 1000% agree with you, spend the money if you got it, can’t take it with you when you’re gone 👍🏽
Lies!! I own a red Komodo a canon r6 and r5c and I would pick up my pocket 3 over any of them for vlogging. This camera is so easy to take out and use instead of one of my bigger cameras and rs4 pro gimbal and with 10 bit color it looks amazing. Stop the cap
The G.A.S is real not sure my reservation about this camera apply to you. You sound like a seasoned professional, link us to some stuff you done on pocket 3?
Agree with some of these points but regardless ima make a feature film on it but I've always kinda made my features unconventionally so it's def case by case. Although I've dropped it multiple times (surprised it didn't break), It's definitely not for slinging around, you do kinda have to be careful. I still do use it bare bones, only a snow mist filter _battery. anyway nice review!
You’re talking about a bunch of cry baby NPC that didn’t understand the video? Show us a piece of content you created with the Pocket Osmo 3 playboy, don’t be shy now.
@Fredo.heavyy bro is fuming because people enjoy something he doesn't lmao, go on any social and look up the pocket 3 and watch "npc" made vids that look fantastic. Cope harder "npc" 😂
So you’re clapped and you got nothing to show? It’s the same pathetic comment on repeat from you fairy’s. Keep congregating on MY channel and raising the stats. We told you not be shy playboy, I got fummes and smoke for all of you.
Size, ease of operation, stability, and (the biggy) image quality, makes the op3 a very desirable camera for consumers as well as content creators. I was surprised that you completely ignored the mic 2. It's not necessary to attach a reciever because it's onboard. Try that with any other camera. And the audio with or without the wireless mic is excellent. I've had mine since last October and haven't used the battery extension yet. BTW, it's actually a power bank meant to refill the main battery when in a pinch. It also has rapid charge 75% in 30 min, It's not a perfect camera, there is none, but a lot of people find it great to use daily. Including that idiot Phillip Bloom, he loves his. Thanks for the review.
Hi, considering whether to buy osmo pocket 3. Planning to record my family trip and not a content creator here. Rather casual usage. Would you advise to buy this or any alternative
I have used a pocket 2 for holiday footage since it came out, and it's great. I expect the pocket 3 to be even better! It's not waterproof, but other than that I've had few problems with the pocket 2. (Which could be a low cost alternative) Give the 3 a whirl....! 👍🏿😃
All the things you say in this video also apply to any other camera. Every camera needs a tripod, mic system, lens, etc... to be more professional, you forgot that with the Creator combo of the DJI osmo pocket 3 it comes with all these, so I don't really get why do you even recommend and external wireless mic when you can get the DJI mic 2 with the creator combo? All this to say that this camera is not really aimed at professionals and more at normal consumers that want a great quality + easy of use!
I think its an average vlogging camera but as a wide-angle lens on a gimble for revealing shots with 10bit dlogM,4k 100fps its a great camera that looks nearly as good as my A7siii for these type of shots. Put it on a long pole and you have a great quality dolly setup. Its a great tool, a lot better than the zv1 in my opinion
I probably sound an idiot but we all want user friendly camera which is portable, lightweight, weatherproof (which p3 isn’t) , a camera which handles its focus, light, colors by its own(in most cases p3 doesn’t), long battery life(which almost none of them does) 😂 But if i have to pick a camera for my day trip i would rather pick P3 or Ace pro than iPhone or ZV-1
Though i do agree with you about RUclipsrs doing PR Never trust tech youtubers who’re doing paid promotions I bought 2 cams insta360 x3 and go2 just because of 2 giant tech youtubers and i totally regret my decision So do try it yourself and then decide to spend your hard earned money friends Also would like to add one warning for those who’re willing to buy insta360 cams, their warranty, return, care policies sucks a big time After all its Chinese brand what do we expect “there’re lot of untold hidden truth”
Judging by the comments on this, you clearly don't understand what this camera is for. Been a DJI pocket user ever since it first one came out. I've never bought a single accessory for any of mine save for a wired lav mic... This is just a stable little grab n go camera that does everything a little better than a phone & is an additional camera when needed. Plus its astoundingly crisp compared to that Sony FX 30 image that looks like it has vaseline on the lens.
Your 'daily consumer' who hopefully goes on a family holiday once a year, want a handy & clever, great quality camera, this is that. They've barely even heard of the word vlogging, we're not all obsessed with it. I like it because it looks like a great cinematic gadget for young and old to easily use for their movies or memories. plus its proven to have done a great job at being that. its use-case in content creation is a side quest, not everyone's exclusively thinking to churn out content.
Hey bro. I’m a blogger beginner. I bought RODE wireless pro for better sound and filming on my old iPhone 12 Pro Max. I was thinking to buy Osmo pocket 3, but I saw your video and I’ve changed my mind. May be you can recommend to buy the solution for me - I still can return these RODE wireless pro.
I agree with some of what you are saying but i think you are missing the point of this camera. First off the MIC 2 is way better than that mic and you do not need a receiver but is a 100$. Second I have yet to need the battery extension. I can generally do a vlog and only use about 40% of the battery and if i use more it charges super quick. 3rd I agree the case sucks!! 4th you really don't need a big tripod or a ball head(it's a gimbal). i use a shorty tripod and instead of buying that quick disconnect mount I went on aliexpress and bought a "Magnetic Adapter Mount 1/4" Screw Quick Release Tripod Bracket" for the action 2 and up magnetic mounts. I just did a video on it and works great and definitely is cheaper and smaller footprint. I just stick the tripod in my back pocket and pull it out when i need it. Plus it has magnets on it which adds the magnet game to the P3 so you can stick it to anything metal. I use it all the time to vlog. It works perfectly and it is so discreet no one really has a clue what you are using. The best part is it is easy to use and can go anywhere with you. Plus the thing is tough. I tripped and fell and the OP3 slide 4 ft across concrete and I picked it up and it was no worse for the wear. I also dropped it off a sticky mount on my dashboard of my SUV and it took that beating. At the end of the day you bought a bunch of expensive accessories that you don't need. Not sure why anyone would pay 50$ for an SD card. Samsung pro plus is 25$ for 256Gb which is more than enough and works great. Be honest with you the last thing i would use the P3 for is talking head stuff. It works fine but is more useful as a vlogging camera than a talking head camera. I just think you have overthought this camera. I am still subbing because everyone has a right an opinion even if i think it is a bit off base. You have a really good camera persona so for that you get a sub. Check out my channel although i am not that good i still have a several videos of where i just used the OP 3 for walking and vlogging. This camera is just fun to use and really isn't that the bottom line. If you enjoy using it then use it and don't worry about the rest.
I am shocked to see how many views does this video have. It’s unconvincing, not well shot, not well spoken and yet 77k views and I fell into the trap myself. When I see a bad lighting, out of focus video and the guy looking on the side out of frame and talking about how people vlog…. I don’t know why to watch it.
@@shotbydmitry congrats you made it’s to a successful RUclips social experiment that prove exactly what you thought. That being said I am the best new content creator on RUclips.
If I had to make an argument, it would be that accessories, peripherals, and add ons are gonna be the case with every camera set up, there’s not one camera on the market where you’re not going to end up spending money on extras. **edit** and yes I own the osmo pocket 3 creator combo and a canon R5, 90D, and R7
You got a real Canon arsenal! As long as you’re getting the most out of the camera, I’m happy for you guys. I’m waiting for an ND filter for the Pocket Osmo 3 to come in, do you use ND filters on yours?
I've been looking at one of these for videoing whilst on my hoildays with my family. I spoke to a wedding videographer recently who has done entire weddings with the Osmo Pocket and the footage he got was very hard to distinguish from his other Sony cameras.
Sorry, but the saying that it's a foolproof camera already shows me that you haven't dealt with the camera. On the contrary, to achieve good results, one should be knowledgeable to utilize the sensor to its fullest. Vloging is one thing, but capturing b-roll with lots of crazy movements, shots with the camera fixed to the car and controlled remotely via smartphone, as well as shots from various angles, including FPV shots. Sadly, you just talk in the video without even showing any footage. There are plenty of RUclipsrs comparing the Pocket 3 with other top cameras; anyone can watch and form their own opinion. I've been using it for over 6 months now, and under good conditions, it can complement my proper camera wonderfully. The most important thing is that you can always take the camera with you, and it's extremely quick to set up for spontaneous and uncomplicated videos. The best camera is always the one you have with you. Saying that the battery is weak and you always have to carry the battery extension is nonsense. Let's be honest, have you even properly used it yourself? If you really want to provide added value, then incorporate footage and scenarios from other cameras that are supposed to be better; then we can honestly discuss the results.
lol, you don't have any idea what you're talking about for the average user. You make too many assumptions. There is no better solution for what you get with a pocket 3 including the 10 bit output and the one inch sensor. You just don't use it the way others use it
Sounds like someone didn’t watch the video and is super imposing their own idea on to what I said. The fact is that the Pocket 3 is an amazing camera for a majority of people and the right choice compared to other solutions if used correctly. See we agree, now link us something you’ve created with it.
You probably saved me from wasting money. I’m pretty happy with a combination of my insta360 acePro and my iPhone for my walk around videos, though I don’t agree with your conclusion about the Sony, without weather sealing a camera like that is going to break and the quality isn’t a big enough step up from an iPhone. I might go with a Sony A7c ii if I eventually try to take my videos up a notch and deal with the cost and bulk of a full frame that opens up more cinematic possibilities.

I'll take a shot, I don't want to carry my expensive black magic camera and all the accessories and batteries to film an overland jeep trip it's just to much. Most of us DO NOT DO THIS FULL TIME and make little to 0 money, and if I break this I'm not out 3 grand in cinema lenses I'm not a full time creator and I just want good clean footage for Me . This is perfect for that. Small point and shoot and done .
Thank you so much for an honest review about this. I think you hit the nail on the head when you described it as a toy. Its also a 'procrastination point' where people wait to do the work until they have the perfect camera that apparently everyone else is using.
It appears you are overwhelmed with how good this camera is and can be.... and when you couldn't just cumulate it, you called it a toy. funniest video I've seen this year.
I have had it for about 2 weeks and you are telling the truth about the cost! It is crazy expensive once u add the extra stuff…I love it though but I may send it back and the mics were almost 400 bucks! Very honest video! I am going to send my back, I wanted to use it for my new channel I am going to start I am just not sure if this will be the camera for me or not 😢
You should also add your own footage you took and showing how you tested this camera and the faults you had with it. You’re right tho. Not for everyone. But it’s not to say it’s only for talking head videos. But respect the hustle. Keep up the good work. I just don’t think this was as detailed as it could have been.
what are you talking about on battery life? it's fantastic, and I rarely need the extended battery - PLUS it charges insanely fast. I think you're just doing that whole "give a hot take to get people like me engaging in the comments" thing. Well done, in that case.
Someone gets it 😅 Yes the battery does charge very fast, I’m enjoying the pocket osmo 3 along side my other gear. BUT I’ll probably end up giving it to my GF
Did you really need to add a bunch of accessories (e.g., "baton" tripod, wireless mic) when the creator combo pack should suffice for the average vlogger looking to make content? I'm considering getting one and not sure if I really need it, but do not agree with your baked-in assumptions of having to get these items from the jump. And looking at the comments below, your making personal attacks and challenging others to "show their blog" is not a good response to people simply challenging your idea - def not a good look for those new to your channel.
And that’s the beauty of the internet, nobodies forcing you to engage, subscribe or comment. But if you say something stupid or can’t back up your opinions, I will call you out. Equal opportunity for people to show their work/test like I did and nobody stepped up? What’s that prove?
@@Fredo.heavyy Agreed - nobody can force anybody to do anything. But perception is reality and as an outsider looking in, it seems to me your comments were unnecessarily aggro to people who didn't agree with you is all...but you do you. As tempting as it is to get the OP3, I think I'll stick with my iPhone 14 Pro for now or really step it up to a full frame.
I bought the Osmo Pocket 3 just because I didn't want to use my iPhone too much while recording. I use my iPhone for work and it constantly gets messages, so it's kind of bothering me. Also, the practicality of the Osmo Pocket is what I need when I take videos
awesome video man. was going to go deeper into credit card debt for the osmo3 and now Ill just put my iphone on cinematic and use the gimbal, footage of each looks the same anyway. it takes insight to see through the marketing tidalwave, respect bud
how did you manage to make the fx30 to look this bad. Even out of the box with no knowledge the video should looks many times better. All you're saying is worthless and the proof is your general video quality. You made the fx30 look almost as bad as the old samsung smh, how???????

This why im successful and you’re not, I’m not worried about fake arbitrary “likes” You’re wrong and I’m laughing to the bank on this one.
I appreciate reviews that aren't just gushing over this thing. I have 2 channels, one's a travel channel and the other is a talking head type channel (tbh, I care more about the lighting in this case). This is an upgrade from filming on my Pixel Pro 8 which works for both channels decent enough for the cost. Until I make more money to get better equipment, good enough is good enough for me.
I respect that, making content on your mobile phone is part of the process. Irregardless of all the brain dead comments I still own and I am actively enjoying the DJI Pocket Osmo 3, its a great tool for filming that id recommend to the right creator. sounds like you're getting the most out of your device so that's good.
Totally agree with you. I see a few folks using the DJI pocket for events/weddings and I just don't understand it. Oftentimes, you can't quite control the head of the camera and the image quality out of cell is much better.
Had me in the first half 😅 Honestly I think the Insta360 GO 3 Action is better options for most people because it’s ability to be in all weather conditions. That comparison coming soon.
I just bought mine and yet to use it, but I watched lots of videos and I was impressed. It was a heavy investment considering i spent nearly $1,000 (in yen) because I'm in Japan. Honestly I'm proud of my investment and curious to see what it has to offer, but if it wasn't worth the money I wouldn't get it. I have to disagree with you. The sony camera quality isnt that great and 1080p isn't bad but isn't the best either. If people want to make an investment they feel is fitting and worth what they want, keep your opinions as an opinion and don't discourage others from getting what they want. Maybe this was not the best for you as you said since your style of content isn't daily vlogs and talking and living in NY.
@@Fredo.heavyy I used my iPhone 13 Pro. It did perfectly well but was lacking in something’s and honestly I felt it was time for an upgrade. I’m not super savvy with cameras and such, but I needed something that would get the job done and also separate personal device from content!
All these other channels are going to lie to you, I’m not. Your real solution was to get a second iPhone (even an older generation one). iPhone 12 Pro 512gb would only run you $300/$500 bones. www.backmarket.com/en-us/p/iphone-12-pro-512-gb-graphite-unlocked/7c19a076-3231-46a2-bdb9-f75f4ed9dc65 Yes you made an investment but you also put a hole in your pocket while introducing a learning curve to your existing content creation process. Now to be fair I’m not saying the DJI pocket Osmo 3 isn’t a good camera and that you wouldn’t get used to it BUT at $309/$500 vs $1,000 their is a big distinction. Either way if you’re talking this seriously you’ll enjoy either solution and the important thing is that we remain consistent and push out content we’re proud of 👍🏽

I kinda get the point that I need. This have some good insight to not rushing buying the product without looking at what you already have and what do you really need. Thank you for the insight!
Glossing over the fact I shot with multiple cameras and edited everything as a “showcase” for buyers. That’s not a rant, that’s hard work, that’s why this video is performing well. Also I’m a marketing genius.
an AVERAGE consumer isn't going to add all those accessories to a camera. they are going to use the camera, as is! YOU added those because you're NOT an average consumer. you assumed that they will attach the extra battery and a telescopic tripod and then you complain that it became bigger? ahaha! you complain about its size when literally nothing comes close to its size in the market with the quality that it has on offer that has a camera and a gimbal.
For the next video, to push limits field test that Pocket3 as the primary camera (leave other cameras in motor vehicle) for wedding ceremony + engagement portrait client paid work
Not sure how any mic aside from the DJI Mic 2 is “best” for this when that’s the one that requires zero external accessories to work because the wireless for it is built in.
I recently took an action 4 and Sony zv-e1 on a trip. Ended up using the Action 4 90% of the time due to it's size and ability to connect directly to the DJI mic 2. I was actually impressed the image quality except in low light. This trip made me really consider the pocket 3. Of course the smaller camera will never compare to the bigger one, but the portability and convenience alone makes it worth it imo. Here is a sample video: ruclips.net/video/SSfL0hv-6uM/видео.html

You own the a pocket osmo 3 w/ the creator combo?

I don't quite agree. This camera would be a great idea for daily vlogging, provided the weather is suitable. It is not aimed at current vlog creaters like Casey. It appears to be aimed at people that are starting out. It makes it accessible to new vloggers which means more people starting what they want to do. Personally, my use will be travel and walking videos but that is because I have a few channels already
😂😂😂😂right!

@@Fredo.heavyyLol the way you talk is why you don’t have a following.
He won’t reply to this comment 😂

Great use case! What city?
You can literally use it as JUST the camera. I recently went on a cruise with mine and I carried it all around the boat with the camera, case and the extended battery (I like it better with it, too small to handle without it in my opinion). It fit fine in my pocket (my DSLR could obviously never). It shoots very smooth, video/audio quality is great. This most definitely is a very good, multi use camera ESPECIALLY for beginners! I get that this camera isn’t what YOU wanted, but it’s a case by case scenario.
Bro is missing the point.. Your alternatives and either more expensive, also need complimentary products to work and also bigger that the pocket 3..
You got 1 out 3 right.
You can get ZV1 with built in ND and 10x better image quality for sub $400 now
I don't mean to hate but I don't think you presented this very well dude.
You’re almost 100% right, a lot of the visual stuff can be chocked up to user error, didn’t have correct SD card for higher bit rate recording, new apt I’m still setting up, didn’t get the desired equipment in time (hence why I threw the S10E in vs Sony ZV1 mark II) etc etc
You obviously know your stuff when it goes to staging, lighting and cameras.

Like it’s refreshing to hear pros and cons and what ad ons might be necessary

did you recommended or not
Yea worth it for food vlogging
@@Fredo.heavyy THANKS FOR REPLYING
Phew, you had me for a starter there Fredo. I’ve just bought a Pocket 3. I was beginning to think I am an idiot. Nah not really. I bought it on the experience I’ve had with the Pocket 2. Some of the best video footage I’ve taken was with that. But you’re right. It’s a case of horses for courses. They’re not suitable for every situation. I would like your opinion on the GoPros. I think they are crap, from hard won experiences. Good honest review. I wonder sometimes what dog many of the reviewers have in the race.
I want to mount this on a hobby grade/high end remote control car to film other rc cars. Good idea?
Yea that’ll work, just don’t crash.
Maybe consider the action 4 or 5 if you’re worried about the gimbal breaking
Guys this dude THINK he know what hes talking about, His experience wont be your experience. Buy it for yourself and return it if you dont like it.
I agree with you, buy it if you have the money but use what you already have laying around and don’t fall victim to consumerism.
From his first point he was wrong. I did not buy the creator package and I am yet to try to attach any additional battery pack. I use it for content creation and bts. I have no need to increase the size.
@@slowtospeakpodcast1598how useful would it be to make cinematic videos on da vinci or premier pro?
How is everything saved? Memory card or via app/phone

Enjoy your travels! You bought the right tool for the job!
As someone who has. Canon R6, Sony A7III, recently I’ve been using the Pocket 3 along with an Insta 360 X4 and my iPhone for filming off road trips and it’s amazing. You can do a lot with the Pocket 3. Just to film!

Did your $200 or $2,000 cameras actually come with all the accessories you say you'll have to buy on top of the Pocket 3?
Thats a silly comment but now that you mention it, I got a Sony ZV1 that has built in ND for $380 total and an SD card forgotten inside.
So yes 😅
@@Fredo.heavyy I think it's fair to say, I won't be subscribing to this channel.

Are you traveling somewhere with “bad” weather or dusty wet environment?
No, more city traveling and not for outdoor activity either. Appreciate for alternative as well. Currently I’m using IPhone 13 Pro
I have used a pocket 2 for holiday footage since it came out, and it's great. I expect the pocket 3 to be even better! It's not waterproof, but other than that I've had few problems with the pocket 2. (Which could be a low cost alternative)
Give the 3 a whirl....! 👍🏿😃
Is this camera not designed to be hand help and for people on the move? To take this and put it on a tripod seems strange.
More for people to chase their toddlers or for car guys to get SICK roller shots.
I probably sound an idiot but we all want user friendly camera which is portable, lightweight, weatherproof (which p3 isn’t) , a camera which handles its focus, light, colors by its own(in most cases p3 doesn’t), long battery life(which almost none of them does) 😂
But if i have to pick a camera for my day trip i would rather pick P3 or Ace pro than iPhone or ZV-1
Though i do agree with you about RUclipsrs doing PR
Never trust tech youtubers who’re doing paid promotions
I bought 2 cams insta360 x3 and go2 just because of 2 giant tech youtubers and i totally regret my decision
So do try it yourself and then decide to spend your hard earned money friends
Also would like to add one warning for those who’re willing to buy insta360 cams, their warranty, return, care policies sucks a big time
After all its Chinese brand what do we expect “there’re lot of untold hidden truth”
Ace pro not a bad option
Judging by the comments on this, you clearly don't understand what this camera is for. Been a DJI pocket user ever since it first one came out. I've never bought a single accessory for any of mine save for a wired lav mic... This is just a stable little grab n go camera that does everything a little better than a phone & is an additional camera when needed. Plus its astoundingly crisp compared to that Sony FX 30 image that looks like it has vaseline on the lens.
@@coreygraft799 your not fit to judge especially if you’re glazing the low IQ comments.
Hi great video very honest, and are you actually using a samsun s10 for this video 😮
Are you recording outside or mostly in side?

Yea I’m not reading any of that, nobody care about your opinion.

I agree with you 100%.
It’s a great camera my GF uses it almost every day.

Also, the practicality of the Osmo Pocket is what I need when I take videos
awesome video man. was going to go deeper into credit card debt for the osmo3 and now Ill just put my iphone on cinematic and use the gimbal, footage of each looks the same anyway. it takes insight to see through the marketing tidalwave, respect bud
this video is a joke 🤣
Man been on YT for 6 years and only at 1k subs.
Learn how to play the game amigo 😂
@@Fredo.heavyy Im learning from u
This tripod is very good with good resistance and little volume, good video friend.
Thanks for watching
how did you manage to make the fx30 to look this bad. Even out of the box with no knowledge the video should looks many times better. All you're saying is worthless and the proof is your general video quality. You made the fx30 look almost as bad as the old samsung smh, how???????
It’s almost like I shot at the worst codec on all the cameras
You’re a little overzealous my conclusion is the camera is great, which is unanimously accepted.
Thank for driving more traffic to the video doe.
@@Fredo.heavyy 495 likes, 1.9k dislikes, unanimously accepted, yeah sure. Driving traffic by being an ass, that's the sprit! let's see how far your shitty attitude will take you in the long run.
All you low IQ loser with the same comment whether I have 50 or 50k subs.
This video garnered tons of subs, tons of dollar and tons of brands reaching out to me.
This why im successful and you’re not, I’m not worried about fake arbitrary “likes”
You’re wrong and I’m laughing to the bank on this one.
So you only care about noney then... that explains the shit attitude lol @@Fredo.heavyy
The Osmo pocket 3 it's an ideal camera for an idiot, penny - pincher, introvert afraid of assaults.....I love it!!!
Had me in the first half 😅
Honestly I think the Insta360 GO 3 Action is better options for most people because it’s ability to be in all weather conditions.
That comparison coming soon.
Yo! Thanks for your take on the cam. Can you please link that tripod in your description section? Audibly I couldn’t make out the name you said.

Bro put dog and toddler on the same level as gf😂😂😂😂
What camera were you using before getting the pocket osmo 3?
@@Fredo.heavyy I used my iPhone 13 Pro. It did perfectly well but was lacking in something’s and honestly I felt it was time for an upgrade. I’m not super savvy with cameras and such, but I needed something that would get the job done and also separate personal device from content!
All these other channels are going to lie to you, I’m not.
Your real solution was to get a second iPhone (even an older generation one). iPhone 12 Pro 512gb would only run you $300/$500 bones.
www.backmarket.com/en-us/p/iphone-12-pro-512-gb-graphite-unlocked/7c19a076-3231-46a2-bdb9-f75f4ed9dc65
Yes you made an investment but you also put a hole in your pocket while introducing a learning curve to your existing content creation process.
Now to be fair I’m not saying the DJI pocket Osmo 3 isn’t a good camera and that you wouldn’t get used to it BUT at $309/$500 vs $1,000 their is a big distinction.
Either way if you’re talking this seriously you’ll enjoy either solution and the important thing is that we remain consistent and push out content we’re proud of 👍🏽
@@Fredo.heavyy honestly I didn’t mind the price, but I felt it was time to actually get a real camera once again for the differences and inconveniences I noticed. But all the same you’re right we just gotta push out content and honestly whatever best suits our preference and gets the job done is what matters 💃🏾!
I don't own one but looking at these comments, everyone seems to love it. Persuading me too get one
The comment section full of low IQ weirdos who want to be offended.
The Pocket Osmo 3 is an amazing camera that I own and use on the daily.
Unless your a more action, outdoor, bad weather type person DJI Pocket Osmo 3 isn’t great go with an action cam like Action 4 or insta 360 go.
@@Fredo.heavyy Living in Scotland it's 96% bad weather 😂 maybe not the best for me then
Get the insta 360 go 3 or DJI action 4
I kinda get the point that I need. This have some good insight to not rushing buying the product without looking at what you already have and what do you really need. Thank you for the insight!
I like your glasses - what brand/model are they?
This local spot in nyc that went out of business.

Its become a fashion statement now to rant and be a critic for more views 😂
You were serious when you made this?
Watch it again
For the next video, to push limits field test that Pocket3 as the primary camera (leave other cameras in motor vehicle) for wedding ceremony + engagement portrait client paid work
That videos coming out in May, it’ll probably be a proper day in the life vlog.
Not sure how any mic aside from the DJI Mic 2 is “best” for this when that’s the one that requires zero external accessories to work because the wireless for it is built in.
Do you own the creator combo?
Osmo action 4 vs poket 3 vs insta x4 which one to buy
If you’re doing outdoors action stuff with water or dust avoid pocket osmo 3
I appreciate this review. I'm idling between the pocket, go pro or just use my iphone and call it a day.
This video helped me decide: ruclips.net/video/sVyWLIc5yE0/видео.htmlsi=ShwgwkjrwAWcfyqd
Action 4 or GoPro isn’t bad if you’re doing outdoor stuff
I recently took an action 4 and Sony zv-e1 on a trip. Ended up using the Action 4 90% of the time due to it's size and ability to connect directly to the DJI mic 2. I was actually impressed the image quality except in low light. This trip made me really consider the pocket 3.
Of course the smaller camera will never compare to the bigger one, but the portability and convenience alone makes it worth it imo. Here is a sample video: ruclips.net/video/SSfL0hv-6uM/видео.html
Thanks for sharing your content! The pocket 3 sounds like it’ll be the right camera for you.
