    "Did she just play you?" She did. She absolutely played him. And I think it's the hardest blow Loki takes in this entire movie. Loki is used to being outmatched physically, he grew up around Thor, Lady Sif, and the Warrior's Three. But he's always been proud of his mind, his ability to outsmart and manipulate people. Then along comes Natasha, a mere human, who bests him at his own game. That had to hurt more than any punch.

    Oh man you'll enjoy Loki's mischievous and character growth.
    Loki Laufeyson was the biological son of Laufey, the ruler of the Frost Giants in Jotunheim, who was abandoned and left to die shortly after his birth. Found by Odin, Loki was taken to Asgard and raised by him and Frigga as an Asgardian prince where he was taught her magics. He is basically a God of Mischief.. he is amazingly strong and the most cunning.

      FYI, it's "tesseract". They didn't just make up that word. In the comic books, the thing was originally called "The Cosmic Cube", which is kind of a dumb name. "Tesseract" is much cooler. But it's a real word from geometry, and means the four-dimensional analog of a cube. A square is two-dimensional. A cube is three-dimensional. And a tesseract is four-dimensional. Higher-dimensional ones don't have their own names. They just call them "hypercubes", a five-dimensional hypercube, a 6-D hypercube, etc.

    A friend is an extra in this! You can see her at 16:28. She's the woman with golden curls and the necklace. They filmed this in Cleveland. It was her birthday, and everyone sang the song for her, including the main actors!
    She was also in the Ides of March. George Clooney starred and directed. Her first day, she filmed on a bus (with a giant cutaway for cameras). She talked with the other actor who was there because there's a lot of downtime. When she was done, she walked through the crowd that was outside. Some teenie boppers peppered her with questions. She didn't know the other actor was Ryan Gosling. She simply had't come across his name before.

    14:18 Technically I think it's possible, it's just on a massive scale. In GI:Joe The Rise of Cobra, one of the characters briefly explains the "invisible" camouflage technology as having a camera to "capture what's behind you and put it in front of you".
    So the Helicarrier's bottom is basically a bunch of inter-connected LED screens that live-feed the sky in real time, creating the illusion of invisibility. It's probably too expensive and high-maintenance to be applicable IRL though, it's cheaper to just paint the ship's body with camo-paint to disorient enemy's spotters.

    A bunch of this movie was filmed in and around Cleveland, where I live. Several days during lunch I walked down E. 9th Street to where they were filming the scene of the Chitauri ships coming down the street and blowing up the cars. Those were practical effects with real cars being thrown around and it was amazing to watch. We also went downtown at night to Public Square, which was dressed as "Stuttgart, Germany" and watched them filming the Cap/Iron Man/Loki fight scenes, as well as the police car crash. It was so much fun!

    To answer your question about the "cloaking" of the helocarrier, using light reflective panels. Yes it is a thing, in the experimental stages. I'm former Navy special warfare and one of the projects the DoD has been working on in partnership with DARPA, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, is cloaking technology of primarily Naval surface vessels. There has already been a form of cloaking from a radar perspective. Navy vessels that can intercept and redirect out incoming radar, basically causing the vessel to not appear on radar until within visual range and by then it's um.... A little too late lol. Visual cloaking via light reflective panels is not yet perfected though. But by 2030 the Navy claims surface ships will be radar and visually undetectable. Pretty cool stuff in my opinion. Being a Star Trek fan where the Klingons and Romulans have such cloaking technology it's pretty cool to consider that will be a reality in the real world

    To me, this movie is the clash of the alphas needing to figure out how to work together and determine who is best for what role, then performing, etc.

    also loki looked like he was going to be sick like he was going to throw up or something in this movie or at least it looked like that to me does anyone else think that as well or was it just me?

    • @castiels_trenchcoat974
      @castiels_trenchcoat974 2 года назад +1

      This isn't a spoiler btw, But it was confimed by marvel that the reason he looked sick was because he was partly controlled by the scepter as well. And he doesn't just look sick when he arrives, he loks like he's been tortured by thanos.. So overall, he wasn't really in control of himself or his own actions

    also i have always believed that the old man steve saves in germany happen to be the older version of the guy steve's girl peggy had tricked into putting his leg forward before punching him in the face cause i think that would be kinda cool in my opinion

    • @kaisattelberg5548
      @kaisattelberg5548 2 года назад +1

      1) he would have been a spry 94 year old (assuming he was born the same year Steve was) - the actor was 70; 2) you really want to make this about the US? A scene set in Germany, about a German character telling the villain off because he's already been through that stuff once? Just to have a little easter egg meeting of basically a time traveller and someone he knew back when - and who was already seen on screen coming back around to Steve after he saved Bucky and the other prisoners? 3) the improbabillity of Hodge living in Germany, in that exact city, and to be there at that moment - off the charts.
      Head-canons should, in my mind, always be somewhat congruous with the established canon - yours is not only not that, but also incredibly rude to the original idea behind the scene. It's also not meaningful enough to justify being completely and utterly out-there.

    Hey Maple! My favorite part of this is Hulk doing what he does to Loki. If everyone could do that to him it would have been even better. RDJ is Tony. Love Cap , Pepper, Coulson, Natasha, and my favorite cameo Stan.
