It's so brilliant. When he's being The Vulture he's just another bland, boring CGI villain, but he's fucking terrifying when he's just being Michael Keaton.
That end credits scene with Cap is a LOT funnier if you've just sat in the movie theater through 9 minutes of credits (Without fast forwarding, Maple!), and THEN you get him jokingly telling you that sometimes a wait can end with not much reward.
That scene where he lifts up the debris is directly from one of the most famous sequences of the comics. It spends several pages showing his thoughts while trapped and then slowly lifting it all up, it translated really well to the movie.
I still have to marvel at the twist that Vulture is Liz’s dad. And then right after Michael Keaton really gets to pour on the menace as he figures out who Peter is. Probably my favorite few minutes in the whole movie, everything shifts in an instant
Plus the only reason Stark doesn’t want Peter involved is to protect him. He loves Peter he just doesn’t want him to get hurt. So yes he is a father figure.
"I'm... looking at porn." "Why would you say that?!" Because it's so believable and yet will get you in trouble, that it gets her to stop asking questions.
I actually really appreciate that you cried when Peter had to lift himself up from the rubble. It's such an underrated self discovery moment in the MCU.
Keaton plays the villain so well here...a human villain with understandable (if not excusable) motives, and he has a streak of conscience as well. One of the highlights of this movie for me.
I kind of love how quickly The Shocker bites the dust in this film. It’s sort of a running joke in the comics that he’s hot garbage who gets dunked on, without even going into the fact that he’s basically a low-rent Electro.
it also shows how movies have grown. in old movies this guy might be used as main villain. typical stupid guy that hero has no problems beating. but this days people dont wanna watch that so hes downsized to a comedic relief level :D
I always *die* at the "So.. You got detention." because it's so freakin' condescending to Peter in particular, since he went up against Cap in Civil War and lost. And the way he sits down on the chair like a disappointed father.
Maple, the ONLY way I could see you NOT getting a date to prom is if you were hiding in the janitor's closet every day at school! 🤣 But seriously, from what I've seen on these videos, you are absolutely beautiful inside and out! Keep being true to who you are and somebody will come along. Love you girl, you're awesome! Loved the reaction as always!
Definitely looking forward to this one. 😊 This is my second favorite in the Tom Holland Spider-Man trilogy. And easily in my top 10 of favorite MCU films. Fun Fact: The hug between Tony and Peter in the beginning when Tony drops off Peter at his apartment was improvised by Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Holland. Those two have great on-screen chemistry. I'm already going to very highly recommend to Maple if she hasn't seen the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy and the two Andrew Garfield "Amazing Spider-Man" movies that she watches them before she gets to the third Tom Holland Spider-Man movie "No Way Home". Just mentioning it so she can fit those movies in if needed. 😊
Although Far from Home and No Way Home really knocked this trilogy out of the park I love revisiting this first film. It has so much charm to it and after all the action and drama and sad moments to come in the second two it’s nice to just laugh at an inexperienced Spidey. Honestly though, this movie has some really great moments, and usually I have a hard time with good movie in deciding what my favorite part was. This one, it was easy to pinpoint that as the scene in which he gets buried in rubble. It feels completely authentic and the panic and fear ( even though momentarily) is palpable, in that scene it’s easy to forget that he’s going to be ok just by the way he’s screaming for help. I remember being in theaters for this movie and everyone around me cheering when he lifts it up and escapes. A close second, would have to be every scene with the vulture from the moment he opened the door before homecoming to the chilling scene in the car just between the two of them. He’s very terrifying- there’s been better villains, sure, but for the tone of this film it was a good choice. It’s kind of like an easy to hard mode as you move through the trilogy 😂 Note: The vulture ( our main villain with the wings) is a well know comic book character and Spider-Man villain. They did make him look a bit like a robotic demon here, but it makes a ton of sense for the type of character they wanted this version of him to be. He’s much cornier in the comics. Can’t wait for you to react to Far From Home, shit definitely hits the fan in that movie and things get so much crazier. 😄
Tortious Interference is what happens at the start of the film to set everything in motion. Dude had a contract with the city and a third party took the contract with the help of the government and another corporation. That's super illegal. Dude can sue everyone and easily win... or more likely settle out of court with Tony Stark who could easily cover whatever this guy would make on this contract.
Good reaction. It is a lot of fun watching these movies with you. One of my favorite scenes in the MCU is at the end when Aunt May sees Peter in the suit. "What the f...!?" Jacob Batalon stole every scene he was in. Best friend and guy in the chair. Zendaya was also wonderful as the quirky stalker girl. Michael Keaton is one of my favorite all-time Marvel villains. The tenseness of him figuring out who "good old Spider-Man" is was perfectly acted by Tom and Michael. That's some gangsta Schmidt right there. Tom Holland makes a great Peter Parker and Sider-Man. A bit awkward as a kid superhero. Well played, Tom. Well played.
He looks like an owl, or ... a vulture? I don't think he's a psychopath; he's just very, very protective of his family. It would seem he's a bit paranoid, and hard done by. Look at his speech to Peter. He's also very fair. Toomes appreciates Peter saved his daughter's life, so he returned the favor by giving Pete the chance to walk away. Later, after Pete saved _his_ life after the plane crash, he claims to not know who Spider-Man is. Adrian could have easily dropped a dime on Pete right there. ... One of the rare times they _don't_ show an origin...
That whole *8 YEARS LATER* thing at the start of the film is actually an error, it's meant to state *4 YEARS LATER* Just to help you with the chronology and timeline of all the events
Liz in the comics was not the daughter of Toomes/The Vulture, she was Liz Allan, Flash Thompson' girlfriend, and Pete had a crush on her, but she was really mean, but then he got his powers and she became secretly attracted to Pete, she fought for him against Betty Brant, but Pete stood her up during a date, so nothing ever happened between them, and Pete had moved on. When they graduated from high school she said farewell to Pete but she was really in love with him, and she left... (she came back years later) ; She re-became popular when the animated show *The Spectacular Spider-Man* came out, here they made her officially Pete's first GF, in a huge love web between so many characters, they drew inspiration from this show for this movie I think :) The twist of making Toomes her dad blew my mind in theaters, that was awesome ^^
I like how there's a premise in this movie that a highschooler wouldn't check their phone during a school trip resulting in a bomb going off in the washington monument.
Peter did not call Happy about anything serious. He was annoying Happy because Peter wanted something to do. Tony did not intend to make Peter an Avenger, so the Avengers moving does not affect him in the slightest. I would assume the plan was to leave Peter in High School, let him fight crime in the neighbourhood (which he already did in his crappy suit before Tony met him) and then eventually mentor him (trainings wheel protocol) when he is a bit older. If Peter calls Happy about the chitauri weapons, and just leaves that be, then the FBI arrests the Vulture and his friends and thats it.
If he edited out all of your awkwardness, there wouldn't be any video left. First date Maple: what are we gonna do tonight Date : *pulls out 2,000 piece Lego set

Maple, in what universe does a Empathic, intelligent independent woman have an “X” and never got asked to the Prom? Controversially, I prefer the Toby Maguire Trilogy to these reboots, but these are a good watch non the less. Each to their own! Great reaction as usual team! When you guys watching “The Boys”?
I love seeing the chills when Liz's dad opens the door. It is such a great moment.
I feel like literally no one saw that coming. One of the best WTF moments in the MCU.
The "hhhhhhhh" in the cinema was hilarious.
It's so brilliant. When he's being The Vulture he's just another bland, boring CGI villain, but he's fucking terrifying when he's just being Michael Keaton.
"He's about to get Will Smithed" LMAO
Tupac woulda shot him 😂
I was just about to write the same comment, couldn't stop laughing 😂
That end credits scene with Cap is a LOT funnier if you've just sat in the movie theater through 9 minutes of credits (Without fast forwarding, Maple!), and THEN you get him jokingly telling you that sometimes a wait can end with not much reward.
"I'm sick of him treating me like a kid all the time," he says as he jumps up and stands on the bed... 🙈

Fun Fact. Jennifer Connelly voices Karen. She is the wife of Paul Bettany, the voice of Starks previous AI, Jarvis.
Oh damn, all this time I didn't even know that. I thought she sounded familiar.
And the original movie version of Betty Ross! Nice of them to bring her back
I love this. It's just perfect casting. Also, Jennifer Connelly is amazing.
Heh. Maybe they should eventually bring Karen to life as another AI robot. "She-Vision".
I thought she was Friday, not Karen?
I still have to marvel at the twist that Vulture is Liz’s dad. And then right after Michael Keaton really gets to pour on the menace as he figures out who Peter is. Probably my favorite few minutes in the whole movie, everything shifts in an instant
Yep! The scariest moment in all the MCU. The psychological tension, rather than some cosmic menace that's less real-world-relatable.
Keaton went full circle. From Batman to Birdman to the Vulture.
Very anxiety inducing scene, but I think they topped it in No Way Home when Peter’s sense goes off in the apartment in the 2nd act
Absolutely one of the best moments in the film. Didn't even see it coming.
I could watch Maple react to anything, she’s so laid back and funny. Good vibes
Peter looking up to Stark is so wholesome even tho Stark doesn’t want him involved Stark is like a father figure
Plus the only reason Stark doesn’t want Peter involved is to protect him. He loves Peter he just doesn’t want him to get hurt. So yes he is a father figure.

The Shocker was a Spider Man adversary in the '60s comics, as was the Vulture.
i like how michael keaton was looking at peter in the car when he was taking him and liz to the prom , he was giving him the batman stare
I kind of love how quickly The Shocker bites the dust in this film. It’s sort of a running joke in the comics that he’s hot garbage who gets dunked on, without even going into the fact that he’s basically a low-rent Electro.

True but it would be dope if they still gave him a comic accurate suit
@@sgsnake2x Comic accurate suit probably wouldn't translate well. It looks good in the comics, but since it's basically just a quilt..........
I love how Cap in the end credits is low key roasting everyone who stays for the end credit scenes 😂
I always *die* at the "So.. You got detention." because it's so freakin' condescending to Peter in particular, since he went up against Cap in Civil War and lost. And the way he sits down on the chair like a disappointed father.

the stuck under the rubble moment is an iconic scene from the comics, nobody gave this movie any credit for recreating it.
*No Way Home
This movie is my personal favourite of the three.
I really like Tom Holland as Spider-man. It feels like the comics. A teen trying to figure out how to be a hero
Bruh her reactions to the mcu are great

Mr Michael Keaton. A brilliant Actor and very underrated

Peter Parker’s teacher Mr. Harrington actually made his first MCU debut in The Incredible Hulk as a college student at Culver University.
Principal Morita was played by Kenneth Choi, who previously played his grandfather Jim Morita in Captain America: The First Avenger.
