I generally get the impression that the Quest 3 “retail package” isn’t really the whole Quest 3 that Meta intends a person to have. Like they build a full device, then broke it apart to sell pieces as accessories, and gave you the barebones device. Because using a battery strap is almost required, just for a base comfort matter
I don't about anybody else but I really think that the Meta 3 face-plate is noticeably narrower than the Quest 2. Place them side to side and you'll see that the Quest 3 face-plate leans toward more to a "V" shape as opposed to a "U", I feel a lot of pressure on my cheeks now as opposed to the Quest 2 and why I have opted to get a BOBOVR3 so I can get that irritating pressure on the cheeks.
I own the Quest 3 since 4 days and the biggest issue is the battery life. I bought a USB cable for pcvr which I use it mostly for anyways and I get 3 1/2 hours out of it instead of just 2 hours without the cable. Getting a new usb c to usb c cable next week to test if the battery can stay at 100% with that.
If you use your Q3 mostly for PCVR here are a few things to change in the Q3's settings which will help with the battery life. 1) set it to 90hz, mine defaulted to 120hz refresh rate, 120 uses a lot of battery. 2) turn off Passthrough, those cameras and depth sensor uses power 3) turn off hand tracking, this also uses extra power. Just these 3 settings changes should get you more battery time in your Q3, enjoy and have fun! :)
I'm keen to get a Quest 3, but waiting for things to shake out to form realistic expectations. Most concerning for me are potential quality control issues. Specifically in regards to the sheer number of reports of display defects such as stuck/dead pixels and mura (not sure that's being described accurately given they are LCD panels and not OLED). Including reports of people going through several headsets before they get one without defects. This is especially of concern when there's online online purchases available in my country, and RMA procedures with both Amazon and Meta (I've done both previously) are painful. Poor mic quality (which I've heard for myself in VRChat) for the mic under the charging connectors on the bottom is another issue. Edit: the mics aren't under the charging connectors, they are behind the cooling slot under the cameras.

Alternative head straps definitely help with that and keeping pressure off your face.
I'm so happy to be late to buying it, gonna hold off and see what happens.
