Went thought a couple VR headsets prior to getting a Index in 2020. Sold it 1 year later. Picked up a quest last week. Massive improvement in convenience, clarity, and comfort. Quest 3 looks as good as the index from what i remember. I got out of VR because of the wires and hassle. Quest 3 makes it easy to put on and go. I can put it on and not have to keep adjusting for the focal point and it stays.
This is an excellent video, very informative. Out of all the videos i've watched on the quest 3 yours is the first i've found that mentioned how to create multiple displays while on pass through, a feature i've really wanted to use with this device.

The headset depth was the biggest aid in making it comfortable. The closest setting hurt my face with glasses on
Yeah, I'd also be super careful as glass on glass can scratch the lenses really easily
@@CuddliiBug true. Luckily though the quest 3 lenses are surrounded by a ridge which prevents contact.

@@ashwells1059 For people who are nearsighted, playing without glasses is nearly impossible, even if the lenses are right near your face. Trust me, my heavy prescription and I have tried many times, and it does not work.

This video was outstanding. 12 out of 10, straight to the point, extremely informative, & well presented. This got me more excited to purchase the headset than all of the reviews I've been watching. Have you noticed any malfunctions or issues with the headset since using the power bank? Curious to know.
Thanks so much for your comment! Much appreciated! To be honest I haven’t needed to use it much with the quest 3 yet - but I used them 2 years with the quest 2 with no issues. But do more research before you commit for peace of mind. Enjoy your headset when it arrives.

Very very good. Straight to the info, accurate, no nonsense. Can I just add that you can also tap the controllers together twice to switch to hands instantly. Not a fan of that capsule, though. I've got one and I notice the weight on one side. OK for emergencies but I'd use a third party headstrap with battery when they become available, as I'm sure you will.

It’s awesome in theory but I tried it and it doesn’t work very well because as soon as you press in the grip button the strap slides down over it and keeps it depressed. Sadly going to have to buy some grips.

I had this at first- you have to leave it slightly loose and then it doesn’t catch the button
@@EatSleepVR I ended up taking scissors to my silicone Kiwi grips and they are working pretty well, not the prettiest and they do slip out a little, but it works for now until some good options reach the market.
Too bad these are so much harder than the quest 2 controllers to cover without covering the lights.

Great tips! Just got mine today. In daylight it was fine, but in darkened rooms there is almost a foggy looking effect on the lenses. It's definitely irritating enough to ruin the experience for me. Loked liked some other people on Reddit were having his issue. Anyone else?

Thank you for showing that the IPD shows in your display when adjusting it, I have been wanting to know this and not seen a single video that shows that. Well done. In the App it says Far and Near, which one is best to use? My Quest 3 is hopefully arriving today in South Africa from the US.
I think it will be near PD in the app - as everything you will be focusing on will be closer generally - I said the wrong ipd figures so it doesn’t go as high as 75. Thanks for the comment and have fun with your Q3 later today.

Just bought this! Super happy except the microphone isn’t working. Not sure what to do. Settings for mic and sound are on. Also in the game for example in Gorilla Tag, all chat option is on and the voice option is set on true. What else do I do? Thanks.

Amazing detail for a complete newbie... Well, sorta. I actually bought an Oculus Rift in 2017. You know, the corded one that also required corded sensors...yuck. I quickly gave up on it because I didn't have the space for it and it has sat in a closet for the past 6+ years. I still haven't powered on the new Quest 3 yet. Great tips, thanks for sharing! I bought the same battery pack, and it doesn't seem to work on my Quest 3, first and only VR headset I own so far. The charging status icon appears, but the percentage number doesn't increase - though seemingly drops a bit slower. This is similar with my Samsung 22U. Not enough power when the devic is on or running stuff? Any thoughts?
That’s strange - are you using a 60w usbc to usbc cable as this can make a difference if you’re not

as far as I know, I'm the first person that reported the trigger and Oculus button recording methods just like another tip I'm giving today & Double tapping your headset for pass-through is the easy method lol also those are all common knowledge, I got a tip better than all of them combined. as long as you have voice command enabled under settings, you can double tap the Oculus/Meta button on the right controller and power off your headset after double tapping the Meta button just say "power down headset" and it will say are you sure, you just say "yes" and it will power down the headset, additionally if you double tap the Oculus/meta button you also can control the volume turning it anywhere from 1 to 10. 10 being 100% volume..

Thank you for the video. I purchased Meta Quest 2. I like it. But the resolution is not that great, especially when I am in the “environment”. Is the resolution in Meta Quest 3 better? Is the environment crystal clear?
It’s slightly better than the Quest 2 but definitely not crystal clear. The pass through is 10 times better but again not crystal clear.

I never use a pc as you can do everything in the headset. The pc experience is better apparently because of the graphics and ability to mod games but it’s not necessary 👍

Thanks very much for your video! One question, do you know if there is any way to see an android phone screen in your mask screen?, I would use it to fly my DJI drone for example, as there is no DJI app for doing it. Thanks very much
You can use pass through but the quality wouldn’t be good enough to fly a drone plus there is a slight delay which could be dangerous for drone flying

How do I find that phone eye adjustment app you're using ??

One issue I am facing is the device keeps forgetting my boundries.
I will sit on the sofa to watch a film in vr and have to create a new boundry. Then go to play a game and its forgotten my roomscale boundry, so i have to recreate that, then i might want to watch a film in bed and I have create that one again.
Coming from the Pico 4 I am used to just truning it on and it either regonising i am in my roomscale or asking me if i want to do seated. I saw in the menu i could delete all boundrys so I am assuming it can support multiple saved ones....but no idea how you switch (its driving me insane lol)
I’ve read that poor lighting or a change in lighting can affect whether it detects the room or not. Also something simple like changing the wall you are facing to help trigger it.

I wear glasses with my metaquest 3. Is there any way to measure how close my glases get the lenses? I use the farthest setting out of concern. :/

I bought the bobo m2 and printed an adapter, got the strap 2x bats and bat charger, base station for headset, and controller grips for $130

one more q:) there is a way to deactivate hand-tracking for sometime so for example if you're watching something you dont' move the screens accidentaly - i can't figure how to do it do you know? they really need to put together just a simple app showing how to do things.
The only work around is to use the controllers and deactivate auto switch to hand tracking - you can then put the controllers down and it won’t switch to your hands
#0:02:12 I'm sure your wrist is supposed to go through the second loop and not as you have done through the first loop (as what you did leaves a bigger hole and the strap can fly off easier)
Yeah makes sense - I do it this way when I’m swapping with other people so you don’t have to adjust it and you can slip your hand out but yes you’re right the other way is safer.

hi , 2 days back i purchased quest 3. when i try to connect it to pc via air link to transfer files, the pc oculus app is asking to purchase it. is there any simple way to transfer files from pc to quest 3 via cable, i have ryzen 3 3200g processor pc
Yes - simply plug it in via a long usb cable - have the headset on at this point as you need to accept the connection in the headset - you’ll get a pop-up. And then it will be listed like an external drive on your pc as “quest” - click on it and then choose which folder you want to transfer files to. The photo and video screen records are stored in the oculus folder. Hope this helps

I need to look at the spec in more detail so I’m not sure just yet other than the capsule one in the video. But definitely go with a reputable brand like Anker for the bigger powerbanks.

In the USA you can use voice control to turn off the headset but there’s no way to turn it off through quick settings. You can add apps to the tool bar by selecting the three dots on the app icon but you can’t yet add them to the quick menu.

Do you know how to buy 3D movies like avatar or normal cinema movies inside the Q3. I have all the media apps like Netflix, Prime video vr, Bigscreen and Skybox. I just want to go to a legitimate site that sells movies from all the major studios like Sony, paramount or universal. I don’t have a computer so I need to do it on my Quest: I bought the 520 gigabyte version specifically for this.
I think you’re restricted if you don’t have a pc to convert and download to headset. I think With a pc you can also access your Netflix or prime account. You have to use big screen and rent films direct from there if you just want to use your headset.
What app do you use for the IPD? I can't find a good one that doesn't require you to already have glasses

Bought the Chromecast. Got it set up on my tv. When I open the “cast” option from the camera in the VR headset, I cannot get my TV to come up as one of the options. Any suggestions?

How do you set your apps/games to show only apps/games that are downloaded? And not all games that have been downloaded before and uninstalled previously??
You can't. They're there forever.
You can’t - it’s annoying as I’d like to hide a lot of my apps or at least be able to organise them. I don’t know why they can’t implement this.

I know I can sideload a launcher, but i still need to open the search bar, sort by unknown sources, scroll down, and open the launcher.
I'd like to have more control over the home space, too, with how apps are displayed and scaled.
I feel like the quest is ALMOST perfect, but it's held back by the corporate need to hand hold users

Use a ruler and a mirror. Look through your left eye, and hold the 0 in front of your pupil. Now look through your right eye. At your pupil is the IPD. Be sure to convert to millimeters if you're using hamburger units

Yes you can but you might find your lenses knock on the headset lenses - you might want to consider prescription lenses - take a look at the link in the description
Here's a tip: nothing you will do can make the strap comfortable and if you have hair longer than half an inch, it won't work at at because it relies on friction against a bald head. You hair will just get bunched up and the strap will loosen.
It REALLY shows you what kind of people Meta engineers are.
The strap design is terrible, such a shame as this was their chance to redeem themselves after the quest 2 strap. T
I findnthe strap really comfortable. You just need to undo the velcro and make it long and it sits perfectly. I can used it for several hours straight with no issues
Loop an elastic or tie in extra rope to make strap longer for bigger hands.
how is your pass through so high quality? Or is that because it's a recording?
Unfortunately the recording looks better than the real thing - never believe the images you see on all the RUclips videos for pass through and games
