This information was helpful! I just had my 20 week scan and got told I have a low lying placenta. My MD is on the side of no streneous exercise or intercourse (which I am an avid gym enthusiast) I do not want to go against my doctors recommendations but I am happy to hear not everyone cautions against exercise.
This is very helpful, at my 20-week ultrasound my doctor called me after with the gender and telling me my low-lying placenta. And not to worry. But no other information was given to me besides another scan at 32 to see position. Crossing fingers the placenta moves up because I've always done natural birth and never C-section, especially as a single parent.
Thank you so much for your detailed information! First time mom and just had the talk about low lying placenta with my doctor! Really crossing fingers it changes. Very helpful and most definitely very informative! ❤
This video was suuuuuuuuper helpful! I've been looking so hard for information like this and found nothing. I'm due in a few weeks (pushed earlier due to low-laying placenta) and really wanted to know my options better and possible outcomes. Thank you for making this!!!! Amazing and very hopeful Xx
Iam 26weeks today n I have a low placenta, I spot almost every day for two weeks,my doctor put me on bed rest for 2 weeks now, this Condition is scarying me because it never happend to me during my previous pregnancies..
Same is happening to me my dear, and this is my 3rd pregnancy. Never experienced it before,I spot almost everyday but I am just 14weeks, very positive that it will move.
Wife has it. Doctor told us anytime there is bleeding go to labor and delivery. This will result in a 48 hour watch to see if the bleeding has subsided and the placenta isn’t damaged to the point where birth needs to happen.
I was told i have a prosterior (at the back) low lying placenta at my 20week scan. I am currently 28weeks now and holding out for my next scan in 2 weeks to see if it may have moved. I was told before by a midwife that because it is at the back that there is a least chance of it moving. Has anyone else ever had a similar situation? I spoke to kne mum who had like me placenta at the back and low and she told me hers did migrate up. I look forward to hearing anyone elses story.
i have this as well made it to 30 weeks so far its my first pregnancy unplanned alone.. and my mom is not here.... it moved up barely half an inch. i have thin blood which doesn't help. last time i had a surgery i was one blood dot from high risk bleed out so this is making me very nervous. i wish i knew someone personally that has gone through this
Hi, please tell me what happened at birth if you’d like to share. I had a massive hemorrhage 12 days ago snd almost had an emergency c-section got my girls at 24.1 weeks. No transfusion need either just hospitalization.
Hello. What are the chances of the placenta moving between weeks 32 and 36? Mine is low but not too low, it isn't far off the 2cm mark! Can't seem to find this info anywhere. I also feel really uncomfortable about the idea of having a planned c section as early as 36-38 weeks, as not only is my baby only 13th centile, but I know that the earlier the birth, the more likely their will be health issues. Any advice greatly appreciated x
I went to my ob about a week ago and they told me that my placenta is a little lower then it needs to be. She said it was nothing to worry about and that most of the time it moves up closer to birth. I’m so worried I’m going to have a c section which is something I didn’t want to do I’ve always wanted to go natural. She didn’t say much after this and I’m wondering if I need to change anything I’m doing or can I keep doing what I’ve been doing since I’ve been pregnant?
My daughter had a low lying placenta when pregnant for my grandson. She spontaneously went into early labour at 34 weeks. Her water broke which left her no choice. Lucky for us, he was a large, healthy premie at 8 lbs. we were surprised he was so big, but both sides of the family have big 10+ lb babies (both my grandfathers were 12 lb babies). She’s currently 29 weeks. We’re preparing ourselves to expect another premie just in case because, once again, she has a low lying placenta. We know it’s not a guaranteed outcome. We’re just aware that it can happen when you don’t expect it. We spent yesterday at the hospital. Poor girl is in terrible pain with an inflamed kidney and ligament pain (doc says both are normal in pregnancy so she has to just manage the pain). We didn’t know that at first though. 11 weeks early is too scary so it’s a relief that the baby is ok.
I'm not sure if I had this "officially" early on, they didn't really communicate well with me, but yesterday I found out it had moved up a bit, so it's more in front, and I got to see that it doesn't cover my cervix (and also saw my vagina from a new angle lol) which was pretty cool!
I was 18 weeks pregnant my doc told me my placenta is low lying am after 3 c section and they told me the placent can grown in my scarf and my belly can be in risk belly can broke they said if I gonna have pain bleeding I need to go straight to hospital now I'm 21 weeks but I don't know what's going now on have someone the same problem??
Try not to stress, the placenta might move. 18 weeks is still early days. Regardless, take the Dr’s advice and monitor yourself. If something doesn’t seem right, go back to your Dr.
gat low lying placenta am 33 weeks and was told to undergo c~section wen i reach 36 weeks,, is'nt there any other solution really dont want to undergo c section eeeish😢
I’ve been diagnosed with a low lying placenta after I came in with multiple gushes of blood. I keep bleeding but they sent me home from the hospital unfortunately. I’m 17 weeks and the doctor said there isn’t much else they can do.
I had some spotting over a couple weeks... and then big clots the last time. About 3/4 cup of blood... went to the hospital and got IV, kept overnight for monitoring. This was 28 weeks. Taking it very easy now, no sex, etc. No more problems the last 2 weeks. They told me the bleeding was probably a combination of my low placenta and the cold and flu I had... I had been coughing for 2 weeks.. followed immediately by diahrea and vomiting... all of which cause pressure on that low placenta.
My placenta is anterior low lying 3.4 cm away from cervix.. and breach presentation at the time of scan.. gestational age of 23 weeks... is my normal delivery possible..??
You should be fine, my placenta was 2.9 cm away from cervix at 36 weeks and I had a natural birth 👍 as long as it’s at least 2 or 3 cm away. Also your baby can move before you’re ready to give birth so it might not stay breech. There are exercises you can do to move baby away from breech ❤
I currently have plecenta anteriorly, low lying, inferior tip of plecenta is reaching up to the internal os..grade o thickness 1.5 cm Can i travel in flight?
In my opinion, YES! I have watched a ton of videos from women with low lying or previa with preterm babies... my Dr did not explain in detail what low lying/ marginal/previa means. She just said if I bleed go to ER. Did that 4x... did research and decided my 👶's life is #1.. sorry daddy, gonna be a long 2 months😅
Can anyone could reply please I am 17+ pregnant with prognosis low lying placenta. Not bleeding Can I travel for 8 hours in between gap 2 hours please reply

My OBGYN has advised me not to have intercourse. I'm marginal. Is this necessary?
Be sure to watch the section in the video where I address this and also talk with your own medical provider about what is best for your care!
