I am soo glad I ran into you Dr. Perez! I’m in my first pregnancy and because of my age group, i am feeling like i’ve been in purgatory since my i’ve first started bleeding. I was told in my first ultrasound that i was 5 weeks, when the following week I started to bleed brown then all of a sudden i had a day that was heavier and i was on day 7 or bleeding. As you can imagine i freaked out and went to the ER , and they said that I was actually showing 5 weeks. I was told at the ER that if the previous ultrasound was correct, then it may show signs that the baby is not growing and it may not be a viable pregnancy. My heart broke into a million pieces. They sent me to outpatient to a local OBGYN and they began testing for the hormone levels to see if that statement was true. Yesterday, I received the good news that the baby is growing! I’m inly sharing this information here in case any other mother to be ever runs into these situations at the emergency room! Make sure you get second opinions and stay as positive as you can be! Much much love and thank you dr. For putting this very helpful video! ❤❤❤

I remember the first time I had to sit up to take care of the baby. And the first pee… of my my my. I was terrified to move and rip my stitches. I loved that pain relief injection. Maybe it was OxyContin because I told the nurses to take baby and I slept for hours. I apologize to my nurses because I was a bit snappy sometimes. 😓😢 At two weeks post surgery, I feel completely normal. Thank God.

Thank you for mentioning that trauma can be things like a fast labor and hemorrhage. Because that was my experience I had a quick labor. My 1st baby was 22 hour labor. My 2nd baby was 3 hrs labor and 6 minutes pushing. I had no tears, it was a vaginal home birth. I was treated right and listened to. But i felt trauma from a fast painful labor. Then I hemorrhage and needed an ambulance hospital transfer. Retained placenta and they threatened a c section to get it out, but thankfully they got the placenta out vaginally. It came out in pieces. I fainted/blacked out 4 times at the hospital and almost died from blood loss. They gave me 2 blood transfusions. I have no scars from birth, but emotional scars and mental break downs. I'm 2 weeks postpartum and feeling better. But i dont think i want to go through birth again. ❤

I was told before by a midwife that because it is at the back that there is a least chance of it moving. Has anyone else ever had a similar situation? I spoke to kne mum who had like me placenta at the back and low and she told me hers did migrate up. I look forward to hearing anyone elses story.

Currently watching C-section videos after having one last week unexpectedly. Baby number 4 and all others were uncomplicated vaginal births. Wish I had done just a little C-section research in prior pregnancies just in case, since you never know what will happen. That’s going to be my advice to pregnant friends from now on. Research and mentally prepare for more than just the desired scenario. Thanks for this video.

I had my first pregnancy at 32 yrs old, i am now 39 yrs old, expecting my 4th. I am considered high risk for preterm birth in every pregnancy due to having a short cervix. Every pregnancy starting at 16 weeks my obgyn doctor will start cervical measurement with vaginal ultrasound. I also always see a specialist. I always measure between 2.5-2.8cm in every pregnancy. Based on my history of full-term births & being over 1.5 cm, i have never had a vaginal cerclage. I have always been prescribed vaginal progesterone. 1st pregnancy 39w & 6 days, 2nd pregnancy 39w & 5 days, 3rd pregnancy 38w & 3 days. Currently 20 weeks pregnant with baby#4...and doctor said it was optional to continue fhe vaginal progesterone. Im choosing to continue it until the end of pregnancy, and im really hoping i make it full term again.

I wish she had specifically mentioned incompetent cervix. My doctor has never recommended bed rest for me, but when I was pregnant with a preventative cerclage after my previous loss, I listened to my body. If I had any kind of cramping or bleeding, you can bet I was in bed. I firmly believe this helped keep me pregnant. There are many women in the incompetent cervix community who have the same experience, and many others who continued regular exercise and had premature births. I would need some very strong evidence specific to incompetent cervix to convince me that bed rest is never a good idea.

Hi, I'm also an IC mama. I totally agree with you. It's so frustrating in the US they usually don't even believe in bed rest even for women like us and it's total bs. We are pretty much the only women who physically cannot carry a baby yet they still just don't believe in it. We should absolutely be on at the very least modified BR. I had to fight with my doctors, and I also had other complications but was on light duty with my oldest, and modified bed rest with my youngest from the very beginning with a cerclage after 4 losses, 1 at 21+6 to IC. I strongly believe it kept me pregnant with my 2 living boys.
