Thanks for watching! I remember trying to get into and out of bed when I was pregnant and it was hard work! Once I learn the log roll it made all the difference! Which thing are you going to tweak? Don't forget to check out our new channel Prenatal Exercise by Brightest Beginning (youtube.com/@PrenatalExercisebyBB?si=O9uIxka3X2dDQJ9y).
33 weeks here and the roll to get out of bed usually works (have to work around my giant pregnancy pillow as well, it dows its job a little too well!), love the tips for picking up your toddler! Thank you!
Yes! 🌟Exercise and moving properly during pregnancy is crucial. Postpartum exercise that focuses on the core and pelvic floor while also addressing issues related to diastasis is also super necessary. Sounds like a great program.
Meghan is awesome! I follow her channel closely and do all her workouts. I love the way she explains stuff and her workouts feel really good. Also she's the only one I've found so far who includes all sorts of exercises - not just one type for stretching/strengthening, but also e.g. cardio. I'm so grateful for what she does.
I had been having some back pain as I got bigger in these last 2-3 weeks. The other day I coughed and I felt a sharp pain and then two days later I had to call an ambulance because I couldn’t move or get out of bed due to severe spasms that were so sharp. This was Extremely painful and made it hard to get a good breath, turns out I guess I sprained something in my back in the left side. Never had this issue before in my previous pregnancies. This pregnancy has been such a rollercoaster for me, now I need to bed rest 😢 also go prescribed some pain meds. I don’t like taking them but the pain is bad
I’d love if this became a series to address specifically mentioned issues from the comments. My biggest one is static standing while cooking/doing dishes/waiting in line, etc. I’ve been standing with one leg elevated on a stool (or the cart if we’re at a store) but as my belly gets bigger, I experience so much discomfort and dizziness while standing for long-ish durations of time.
Glad I found this video :) I’m 8 weeks and have been taking movements slower so as to reduce discomfort in every day life. I’ll be more cautious and use these tips from here on out. Thanks ladies!!!
I’m 9 weeks pregnant with baby #2, and for a few weeks, I already notice I can get slightly blacked out vision for a second a bit after getting up. I definitely have been getting up more slowly, but it often still happens. So tired and can’t wait to get out of the first trimester!
That happens to me a lot too and is definitely exacerbated by pregnancy. Supplementing electrolytes seems to help, as well as flexing my stomach when I stand up to help maintain adequate blood flow to my head.
Thank you for bringing awareness about this topic Emma! Not a lot of people know how to properly protect their pelvic floor and core in pregnancy. The technique Meghan showed to get in and out of bed can also be used postpartum (especially after a C-section). Great video!
Thank you. This definitely helped. I am in my 2nd month but u explaining the risks for later in the weeks makes me very greatful. And honestly i just tried these changes and it feels so comfortable and better already. You have my gratitude
I am 6 month pregnant I don't know how to sit on bed and sleep in pregananct time I always take left position to sleep Well Thank you Emma mam your videos really me in motherhood journey.
I learned the leg roll from my chiropractor. It definitely made a difference, would have been nice to know how to hold my toddler when i was pregnant though, he was 14kg in my 3rd trimester and still in a cot. Wasnt fun trying to pick him up haha.
That would have been very challenging! Our 3 year old boy was 18 kg when my 3rd child was born and it was tough carrying him. I would only be able to carry him for a few minutes and then he would be happy to hold my hand and walk. It's tough though!
Thank you Emma for these important information😊. Can I ask about sleeping positions during pregnancy? I only know I cant sleep on the back. Thank you ❤
Ill have to ask my doctor about the the getting into and out of bed and about the sitting position due to being short and these wont work for my height. my height is 4 feet and 7 inches and most of the furniture i have and are sold in stores are to tall for me.
Any tips for going from laying or sitting on the floor to standing and then the opposite? I live in a 'floor culture' country so we don't have any chairs or raised furniture in our house, so I'm getting off the floor constantly. For now a modified asian squat has been my go-to (I'm 20 weeks) but after watching this that seems like the worst possible position
Get something to push off using your upper body such as a stool or box. You can sit near something you can pull your self up with. Maybe just get a chair to use for third trimester.
Hello, your situation is a bit different as your body is well adapted to the Asian Squat. This means you have great mobility in your hips/pelvis and stability in your lower back. In the Western culture we sit too much in chairs where our back and core muscles don’t have to do any work. The best option for you would be to use a yoga block to support your pelvic floor in your Asian squat and make sure you exhale when you stand up. When transferring from laying down make your way onto all four’s and push back with your hands into your half squat position and stand up.
Sitting here upright trying hard to resists the desire to cross my legs cuz my midwife has me training my body for an open, flexible pelvic floor. Much of what you share here is on my homework list.
Super helpful video, thank you for this! I'm 26 weeks pregnant and needed the tips on how to pick up my toddler, which is getting harder and harder these days!

Super helpful! I'm 10 weeks pregnant, and I already feel like a cramp in the pelvis if I stand up from the bed like I used to. Thanks for this video!! ❤
Im worried my job is honna hurt my baby, i have to stand for 8 hours, and I'm always dragging racks full of clothes, so i dont know how to protect my back and pelvic floor
I had to lift heavy items like up to 15 kgs for 30 weeks of my pregnancy and standing also for 8h on my feet. Wasn't easy but I managed to make it trough
I'm at my last few days of pregnancy and my little boy done something very strange today, inside of my belly. He stretched in such awkward position, his feet got stuck under my left rib cage and showed in my back side. 🤯😅
Thought you can’t lay on your back after 10 weeks pregnant and on cause lying on your back may compress a major blood vessel that takes blood to your uterus, making you feel dizzy and possibly reducing blood flow to your fetus.

Even your doctor and ultrasound tech will have you lay flat for exams for limited periods of time
