I used to think it was a sort of magical realism story (a literary genre), where the story incorporates certain fantastical elements to it's narrative, but it turned out to be a bit more of a ''the marvelous real'' (as dubbed by Alejo Carpentier) type of story, wherein the story does have a touch of marvel and visions of the fantastic, but based off pure realism. That might've sounded a bit pompous, but what I'm trying to say is that Omori is a story rooted in realism; every fantasy element to it can be traced back to Sunny's mental instability and desire to not perceive reality as it is. The closest we get to confirmation that the fantastical elements are real is Basil talking about ''something'', but that's clearly him wanting to detach Sunny from his terrible actions as a way to defend his friend and possibly protect himself. This is getting ranty, but I believe none of the horror, magical or otherwise unrealistic elements of the story are actually real, but rather the product of the mind of someone immensely troubled and scarred by deep psychological trauma.

I like Mari because she is what I aspire to be as a big sister but she also makes mistakes just like I do. But that's because it is not a simple thing to protect our siblings even from themselves sometimes. __spoilers___ It is a bit chilling to know the fact that she died for wanting Sunny to play perfectly at the recital. She did put a lot of pressure on him but she did that mistake because she wanted him to be the best. She remembers me to stay calm and try not to be too harsh. Thank you for this long version ❤

After finishing the game, I my chest is in so much pain. Every time I hear this song, I can't hold back the tears. This game has been amazing, and I'm so glad I got the opportunity to play it. Its honestly remarkable how well a piece of fiction, especially a game made in RPG Maker, can inflict emotional pain on its players. Its weird hearing this as one of my top songs of the whole year. The first of something nice to reminisce on, i guess.
I have been very stressed about work and when I listened to this song it made me very calm and took away the bad thoughts. it made me cry a little bit.
I know it's only been like two years, but they need to make another one that focuses primarily on Mari.
I only know fragments of the main plot and this song is already enough to make me want to cry, maybe combining homework with this wasn't the best idea
