I wish there was an upgrade option for owners of the og or remastered versions. I would pay $30 maybe $40 to upgrade. Since that’s not an option, I’ll be waiting for a sale for this visual remake.

I loved playing through this game, but I'm gonna miss this remake. I'm quite done rebuying the same game every 2-3 years. Edit: Put this "cutting edge" version on PC where I can keep it in perpetuity, then maybe I'll buy another copy.
Purchased a PS5 last month my first ever Playstation.... watched a few reports on the graphical diference and decided £70 was really not worth paying the extra for so got the remaster really enjoyed it and saved £60

Can’t deny how beautiful the game looks BUT increased graphics and mostly quality of life improvements do not justify the price of $70, a price of a brand new game. They are charging more for this remake then they did when the game came out as an original game back in 2013, and the price is more than what last of 2 was when it came out as an original game. Maybe justifiable for first timers but this could’ve been an EASY recommendation for EVERYONE if the asking price was $30, $40 max. I’d rather pay full new game price of $70 for a game like God of War Ragnarok.

I mean, I know it's not an easy job to big up a remake that changes very little apart from the graphics (which the first two points can be easily summarized as), but that point doesn't even have to do anything with the remake at all. You could have returned to the original game on PS3 after nine years and would have had the very same change in perspective.
I'm definitely skipping this. I brought the original back in 2013 and the PS4 remaster and I'm just not willing to pay like 70 quid for this game again. Maybe in about 5 years or so when it's dirt cheap but for now nah.
As much I I liked both part one and two, this version or any other version of the game can be fancied up as much as possible but I can't help but feel like it's gonna feel no different to the last two releases of the game
@@lukesablade it's still the same game. You can add all the graphic upgrades and improved AI but no real combat changes, environments not changed to hold a prone option. Resident evil 2 is a real remake. This is just a graphic/AI upgrade more expensive than the two previous versions. Not worth it
I'll never get tired of playing this game but I'll wait until the price drops. £65 is way too much for a remake. However, if you've never played it don't hesitate. As a first time experience it's worth every penny.

yes - one of the vids that you can actually check out in the playstation store right now shows all the unlockables - infinite ammo, infinite melee duration are there.(along with many more)
I will say it was worth the money. Like it is amazing in multiple ways and for those who have played it will probably agree, that there's a reason why it costs what it costs
This is a day 1 for me. It is my favourite game of all time, so being able to play it in all it's glory with those enhancements is fine by me, regardless of the price.
It's the same game, tarted up a little. The only people paying full wack for this are people who have never played it before. I'll wait for PS+ discounts or even monthly freebie.

all these dislikes are from the whiny "oh i don't want to pay full price for this game" crowd, so the devs don't deserve to be paid for the effort of remaking this game? they could easily have pulled a GTA V and just upped the res again like they did on PS4 but they actually put in some effort into making it feel like a new game it looks amazing but gamers these days expect to be given everything and pay as little as possible or nothing at all
It's not high effort though, that's sort of the point. The Yakuza Kiwamis were remakes of ps2 games and were higher effort than this, and even those weren't full price. This is the third re-release of the same game in barely a decade. And it's not like you can't already play the remaster on ps5. It's not entitlement to not want to pay full price for an unnecessary product.
The one thing I think the original is better is in the art direction. It just seems like the Part 1 is a bit brighter and lively, while the older version is darker and grittier.
I've bought this game 3 times day of release now (I cant help myself as its one of my favourites of all time) and I will say the upgrade looks amazing but its not worth £70. Thankfully I bought it for around £55 at launch but i kind of wish they added a bit more to it and expanded the levels instead of just a lick of paint.

I would say; if you're pc only, it's a good buy. If you're on ps4/5 just get the ps4 remaster second hand. It still hold up.

Watch digital foundry’s analysis, graphics, animation, enemy ai have all been upgraded…no cuts scenes, all seem less in game like god of war.
