    Seems like decent kit. I might get one for the heck of it. I really wish revell makes a standard version of this model and engine detail added. I've always loved the styling of the DB5. Did You know the original Goldfinger car is actually a DB4 customized to look like a DB5?

    It looks to be a fun build, I may get one, the main chrome tree looked really poor up close, not something I'd expect from a 2023 kit, same with the wheels and grille, it's possible to mold them open so it's a shame they didn't.
    It's not a budget kit after all.

    Great unboxing, will definitely be picking one up. While the DB5 is the most iconic Bond car, my favorite has always been the Aston Martin V8 driven by Dalton. Funny story, my best friend had a Lincoln Mark VII in high school/college, and he used to tell people he drove a Bond car as Dalton drove one in Licence to Kill.

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  Год назад +1

      Thanks a lot. I really like Dalton's V8 as well and that would be a good one to make.

  • @bradevans7935
    @bradevans7935 11 месяцев назад

    Great review. It looks like the body shape is pretty accurate (the main problem with past attempts at a 1/24 or 1/25 version of the DB5), and it has potential to build up into a decent model. Given the way it is moulded, it appears Revell focused on the gadgets for the 'Bond' version, and a full-detail 'standard' version is likely to appear in the future. I noticed that the engine bay moulding has some accessory details, and the inside of the body has a raised line under the rear edge of the bonnet - both of these details would only be there if they intended for the bonnet to open. Even if Revell doesn't do a full-detail model, it should be a relatively straightforward task for somebody in the aftermarket to make a detail kit.

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks Brad. I think you're right. I've also noticed that the interior has holes for the pedals and handbrake to be left hand drive despite the kit only having a right hand drive dashboard.

    I'm a little disappointed in the lack of details. For me, the main thing is did they get the overall body shape correct. I plan on doing mine as a stock DB5 as I'm not really a Bond fan. None of the previously released kits have had accurate bodies. The Doyusha kit is really bad and the old Airfix, though better, was still not great. USCP has already released a beautiful set of 3D printed wheels and tires to replace the awful kit pieces.and they are talking about doing a replacement grille as well. Hopefully they'll do an underhood set with engine as they have for other kits.
