So nice that you finally got to this album! It's still one of the best albums I've ever heard, the band manages to convey emotions like no other. BCNR really is the absolute pinnacle of british engineering.
Lovely reaction. Coming up to 64 years soon, and being obsessed with music for that last 50 years (rock/folk/jazz/classical/opera) I really feel this album is for the ages. Isaac's poetry and the musicality in his vocal lines are combined with a classically educated band, especially the keyboard player who could be playing Chopin and a highly talented sax/flute player, they truly know about development and crescendo. One of the best albums since the 1970's without a doubt.
Glad you got around to covering this one Doug! Handily my favorite album of 2022 and a 10/10 for me! The instrumentation on this is gorgeous, and the vocals are so vulnerable and emotive. Saw these guys live a couple weeks ago and they were excellent, even after the lead vocalist left the band last year.
I feel like it’s a orchestra that’s playing bc even tho it was only seven members . It creates such a landscape that Isaac decorates with words and cryptic but understandable lyrics. This and the glow pt. 2 by the microphones are the n.1 albums of all time in my opinion
I was so so obsessed with their debut album ‘For the first time’ super dark, post punky, jazzy. This album, while I think it’s great, really didn’t win me over in the way their debut did, this feels kinda like a baroque rock Arcade Fire album in the best way possible.
Nice reaction, just to add some context, the lead vocalist Isaac Wood leave the band just before this album came out, for mental health porpuses, the band didn't give details but the album feels like a testament of a relationship that didn't work out.
1:00:20 I don't think it's a coincidence that you started getting jittery and grabbing at your arm and stache once this part started. The final instrumental component is just unreal Anyways, unfortunate that you were procrastinating on the album of the decade (so far) but ultimately it's always good for someone to experience this release whenever they can. I still can't understand how those last 3 tracks actually exist how so good?
Yo bro did no one tell you this band is fronted by pitched down Brendan Urie! Personally i prefer this album to anything Panic at the Disco have done, but that’s just me 😁
@@DougAraujo yoooo me too! I remember finding the RvB tex fight in like 2010 and I’ve been a fan since. Fell out a little in 2018/19 and now listening to F**kFace every week lol
@prodgarikai I found them through achievement hunter. Stopped watching them for a while and now I mostly just listen to podcasts. Basically anything Geoff and Gavin are involved with lol
@@DougAraujo man AH was my life for so long lmao. Like I got so accustomed to getting home every Friday to watch Minecraft. Good timessss. And same man I’m watching anything Gavin and Geoff are a part of.

Mark's Theme is a tribute piece to the saxophone player Lewis' uncle who passed away from Covid in 2021

1. The glow pt2
2. Ants from up there
2. In the aeroplane over the sea
@@Max-cz3iysurely Funeral is number 4 lol
@@Amaling I'd stick Illinoise by Sufjan Stevens ahead of Funeral, although Funeral is a phenomenal album
